Front Air Bag problems of the 1997 Ford F-150

I own a Ford f150 and I was hit, and neither air bag deployed. I was hit in the drivers' side front fender side.

While driving 65 mph consumer's hit a fence pole to avoid hitting a deer. Upon impact, neither frontal air bags deployed. No injuries were reported, and the dealer was not notified.

Consumer fell asleep while driving 60 mph. Vehicle crossed over one lane, bumper caught on embankment, and rolled over starting with front end. Neither air bag deployed, driver hit his head on passenger window. Driver sustained head injuries, and vehicle was totaled.

While traveling about 30mph on the highway. Another vehicle made a sudden stop in front. And the consumer hit him from behind and the dual airbags didn't deploy. Please fill in additional information dealer is aware of the problem. Ts.

Vehicle was hit at 30 mph by another vehicle, and none of the airbags deployed.

Vehicle was going 60mph around a icy curve. Then, it went off the road through a ditch and into a bush. Air bag didn't deploy after going five feet into the air. Consumer will contact manufacturer.

While traveling at 50mph a deer ran in front of consumers car, and consumer hit deer in front of car, and none of the airbags deployed.

Travis was hit from the rear and knocked into another truck totaling out all three trucks in the wreck, our air bags didn't go off this causing travis to hit his head,cutting it requiring stitches on the inside and outside of his forehead,if the air bag had of went off this could have been prevented,we have replaced this vechicle with another 97 Ford,making us have a total of 2 1997 Ford are the air bags safe in these trucks,next time it could be fatal not just scared for life.

While driving about 70 mph another vehicle collided with consumer's vehicle head-on first, but neither frontal air bags deployed.

While crossing a bridge a boat had stalled in the middle of road. Cosumer hit boat at about 35 - 40 mph, airbags didn't deploy.

Consumer was about to stop and was rearended by a truck. In return, consumer's vehicle rearended a third truck. The seat belts did not hold driver or passenger, and neither air bag deployed.

While driving approximately 50 to 55 mph, the vehicle began to gain speed on its own. Trying to avoid hitting another vehicle, the car went into and hit an embankment head-on. Neither air bag deployed, and none of the three seat belts held passengers. Driver sustained face and head injuries. Front passenger suffered neck and shoulder injuries. Back passenger sustained head injuries and abrasions. Dealer and manufacturer were notified.

Brakes: driving approximately 45mph and the car ahead slammed on its brakes. Tried to stop, put pedal completely to the floor and the brakes failed, hit car in front and neither air bags deployed. Brakes and air bags failed, reason is unknown.

The truck accelerated in the driveway, tried to stop but the brakes wouldn't stop, causing the truck to hit a brick wall in the garage. The airbag didn't deploy. The truck accelerated to about 30 mph.

While driving on a dirt road and slowed down the vehicle, the airbag just deployed without any warning an injured the driver of the vehicle.

While traveling about 45 mph another vehicle pulled out in front of vehicle and consumer hit the other vehicle in the side door. The airbag didn't deploy and the anti-lock brakes failed.

Driver's car hit another car and driver's air bag didn't deploy.

Consumer had an accident and neither air bags deployed, two passengers were injured.

Driving along street, another vehicle pulled out in front, vehicle going about 35 mph, hit the other vehicle broadside, neither driver's/passenger's air bags deployed.

While driving with cruise control on, going (55) mph, vehicle rearended another car and there was no deployment of the air bags.

Airbags didn't deploy when vehicle had crashed into a fence. Another vechicle had cut off consumer's vehicle, and he ran into a fence. No injuries. Reported.

Consumer is 4'9" tall. When she lowers the steering wheel her chest is approximately 12 inches away from center of steering wheel. Is afraid in case of an accident air bag will not be effective due to her size. Concern about safety of short person and air bag. Added on 09-07-1999.
