Electrical Failure problems of the 2000 Ford F-150

1 Electrical Failure problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2011

The contact owns a 2000 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in the driveway, the vehicle burst into flames. No one was injured but the vehicle was destroyed. The fire department was called to extinguish the fire. The fire department advised that the fire was caused by an electrical failure. The contact called the manufacturer to file a complaint and the manufacturer stated they would inspect the vehicle for any defects. The failure mileage was 200,500.

2 Electrical Failure problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2006

Intermittent electrical failures in wet conditions. Most severe was when windshield wipers quit working while driving in the rain. Less severe, radio will stop, odometer will turn blank, accessories will remain on with truck turned off.

3 Electrical Failure problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2004

While parked vehicle caught on fire. The fire department discovered that their was some type of electrical system failure. No injuries reported. The vehicle was totaled.

4 Electrical Failure problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2004

Ford f150 4x4 sport extended cab 5. 4l v8 electrical failure caused engine to spontaneously combust into roaring flames. Truck was a total loss. Truck was not running nor being attempted to start at the time. Truck had not been driven for 8 hours prior to the fire. Ford motor CO will do nothing to correct or even discuss this problem. They claim their is not a problem with this truck despite the 179 technical service bulletins on the truck and the numerous times spontaneous combustion of this vehicle has been reported to the us dept of trans. 5 Electrical Failure problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2003

While parked in the driveway the vehicle caught fire without warning. The fire department stated there was some type of electrical system failure. The vehicle was a total loss. Please provide additional information. The deputy stated that the entire engine compartment was destroyed as well was the front part of the cab.
