Spark plug blow out on my 2007 f150 with the 5. 4l modular engine. Spark plugs were the factory plugs and as I bought the truck new their is no way that they have ever been changed and improperly torqued as the Ford dealer told me after it happened. I explained that Ford has issued a TSB on the problem as it is so rampant in every Ford v8 engine from 1993 to current. This is the 3rd Ford vehicle that I have had this happen to me.
The contact owns a 1997 Ford f150. He stated the vehicle was parked when he noticed that there was smoke and flames covering the vehicle. The fire department and police were contacted and there were reports filed. The vehicle was destroyed by the fire and then impounded. The manufacturer had not yet been contacted to report the failure. The cause of the fire was undetermined. The failure and current mileages were 179,000.
Upon starting vehicle after "cold start" vehicle knocked and sputtered, at times vehicle starter sounded to like it was sticking took the vehicle to the dealer who could not duplicate problem. Dealer advised the problem could be caused by after market oil filter. New oil filter was placed on vehicle.
