I have had a coolant leak but haven't been able to find it until now. It is below the thermostat housing, between the manifolds and the metal tube that hooks the bottom of the thermostat to the manifold. I know there is a recall issued for this but it doesn't seem to come up on my truck. In my opinion it should.

The phasers and the timing chain and tensioners is failing. This is premature failure due to engineering mistakes in the design. This is a safety critical walk home failure. Failure will destroy the engine (interference engine). Complete loss of all power and lock up of engine. Mechanic said the only remedy is a rebuilt engine. Spark plug blow out. Yes it is available for inspection. Ongoing very common issues with triton engines blowing out spark plugs making a fire hazard because fuel vapor coming out of plug hole could be ignited by coil pack. All Ford dealerships are very aware of this issue and have repaired many by rethreading and installing a helicoil thread repair kit at a very high price of 800 dollars and most repairs are temporary because the aluminum is weak and very thin at the spark plug hole. Ford is very aware of this ongoing issue and denies any liability experts don’t agree with Fords arguments. No warning the plugs start to blow out at around 140000 miles well after the warranty. This problem started in the 90s all triton engines are affected. As in the photo the dealers attempt to repair was unsuccessful the spark plug is tightened to deep into the head and is broken off. They said at the end of the day I need a new head. 5000 dollars.
Started to drive my vehicle but it is stuck in park.

When idle it has a rough sound changed faders and senors still same. . . It has a so trying gas smell around it and when driving it it may shut off and also it drives like it needs a tune up but has recently had one. . . . The wheel hub assembly is also acting up.
First the trans went out in the middle of no where at 1130 at night with my newborn. Then the engine went as I was driving to work. We found out it was the cam phasers which we had to replace the engine for. We have done $8000 in repairs and it's not recalled??.
Rear driver side door rattles as if not completely shut when driving. Sun/moon roof not opening.
My vehicle has a 4. 6l v-8 engine. The rear spark plug on the passenger side of the vehicle ejected from it's cylinder. I was driving at about 50 mph on the highway when the ejection occurred.

Also, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and the engine revved. The contact stated that the failures also occurred while making a left turn and the steering wheel seized, which made it difficult to make the left turn. The brake pedal was depressed in order to stop the vehicle. After stopping, turning off, and restarting the vehicle, it was able to operate normally. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The contact was referred to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 143,000.
Engine ticking, from prior reports looks to be a common issue, also when filling up with gas it seems to have back pressure and keeps turning the pump off.
Vehicle loses power at 45 to 60 mph or on a bumpy road dashboard lights come on. It has done this approx. 3 times. It usually starts back up but I think its a safety hazard.

Spark plug blew out. Mechanic replaced it for $350 then it blew out again 2 days later. Problem with Ford spark plug tearing threads out and not being able to replace spark plug without replacing entire engine. My son was on his way back to college (5hr drive) when the spark plug blew. It sounded like a shotgun! had it towed to mechanic and they replaced spark plug and 2 days later same one blew again while driving to work. Towed a second time and mechanic is searching for ways to resolve. He says we may have to replace entire engine because of threads being striped when it blew out. Ford mechanic has looked at and does not have any solutions. In researching online I have discovered that this could have potentially been very dangerous. Others with same problem have had engine fire when sparkplug blew. We were in process of selling vehicle so now we are sol! we don't have $4000 to replace engine and our family needs a 2nd car. Never again will I buy a Ford. They do not stand behind their product!.
2007 Ford F-150 XLT with 5. 4l triton v8,engine began shaking violently while at stop light, then hesitated consistently while accelerating 40-50mph, no warning lights or indicators on in truck. Ford dealership replaced coil I believe, just purchased the truck used and didn't get any documentation when they fixed it.
Engine was replaced in 2011 under warranty at 51,864 miles. Now at 105,662 this engine is doing the same thing. There is defiantly a problem with the engines. Ford needs to recognize and acknowledge and fix this issue with their product. If your engine does not work correctly, how can your Ford be - Ford tough!.
The failures stem from bad oil flow to the top end of the engine due to a flaw in design. Specifically my camshaft, cam phaser, timing components and lifters rollers have failed. The problem first showed up at 42256 miles and has since resurfaced twice even after expensive repairs. The worrisome part is that the web is filled with thousands upon thousands of similar complaints about this engine which is also in expeditions and crown victorias and probably other Ford vehicles.
Vehicle has started to jerk around 40-50 mph. Reviews states the spark plugs and coils are the issues. Wanted to change out spark plugs, but understand the plugs breaks upon removal and very expensive to fix. Know issue by Ford motor company. Now I don't even want to attempt changing out the plugs. This issue should be recall or paid by Ford for replacement, since this issue is know by Ford. Issue is still ongoing, help, don't want to pay $1000 for a simply maintenance.
In April 2015 I began experiencing engine knocking on my 2007 Ford F-150 which had 57,532 miles on it. I took it to Ford service department and ended up spending $3,080. 79 to replace camshaft, solenoid, and timing chains. I was told this work was guaranteed. Now, less than 7 months later at 61,452 miles I began hearing squeaking as I drive. Took it back to Ford and they tell me it is now the harmonic balancer is out and excessive crank shaft end play. I am told that the issue is not related to the prior repair work so I will have to spend another $3,000 or more to fix this issue. This is all after I spent over $300 in December 2014 to replace the ingnition coils. I drive mostly city driving. We picked up vehicle without repairing it this time so we could figure out what to do.
Truck jerks and jumps because the cylinders aren't firing. Just spent $1000 for new plugs a few months ago. I have had to replace several coils in the last 3 years. Problems started around 100k miles.
