1 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2026

I can have the vehicle available for inspection. I have to hold the truck door shut while driving it when the issue happens. There has been no confirmation of the issue by a dealer or independent service center. There has been no inspection of the problem by the insurance company, manufacture, police or others. This year during cold weather the issue started. I bought the vehicle used. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a 2015 f150 and when it gets cold I can open my driver's side door, but when I go to close the door, it won't latch.   the inside door handle is really loose, like it's not attached to anything.  once the vehicle heats up, the door handle gets stiffer, like it is connected and I'm able to close the truck door.  this only happens when it's extremely cold outside.  I was told by a Ford dealer that this is not a recall door actuator problem.  they think it may be the door cable that connects to the inside door handle.  they stated it may or may not be a warranty replacement and not a recall.  they say it would be around $149 to diagnose the door problem, and if it's not a warranty replacement, I will have to pay the diagnosis cost and repair cost.  they say the only way to know if the door repair is under warranty is for them to go inside the door and diagnose.   so this is my concern.  I have an extended warranty on the truck and it runs out at 147,000 miles.  I'm at 144,000 miles.  if I take the vehicle to them and they take the door apart and then say it's not a warranty or recall issue, this could cost a lot of money.  with all the problems that the f150 has with the door lock problems when the temperature gets cold, it seems to me that Ford should know right away that my truck door problem is a common problem and it should be covered immediately under a recall or warranty.  I bought the truck used.  let me know your thoughts on this.

11 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2021

As it rain or during vehicle washings, notice that water was leaking from the a-frame trim on the driver side of the vehicle. Also found that water was collecting inside of the driverside rear door between the sheet metal. Unsure of how the water manage to get inside and collect between the sheet metal. I removed the door gasket and the water drained from the bottom holes that holds the door gasket anchors at the bottom of the door. Collected close to a half gallon of rain water. As I was driving I could hear the water moving around in the door panel and originally assumed that it was the gas in the gas tank, however, after I opened the rear driverside door, I heard the water moving around inside the door panel. Water collects when driving and when vehicle is stationary.

Was driving on highway, cruise set at 55mph, came over a hill to a car stalled in the road. I couldn't stop, both vehicles declared total loss. Hit my face in the steering wheel, bruised knees on dash.

17 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/03/2020

The "moon roof" on the truck when I went to open it became "jammed" and would not go back to closed position nor would it open therefore it was (the passenger side) not an air/water tight seal. I had to take it to the dealer for a $2300 repair. The repair, to this day is still not 100% correct. In looking on line mine is not the only truck this has happened to. Something is not right with the mechanics of it as I have open and closed the moon roof, at the maximum of, 12 times since I purchased in 2016, something is just not right with that feature to be used so seldom and when it breaks down the cost being so extreme.

My 2016 Honda civic ex-t was purchased brand new on 2016. In less than 40,000 miles, my air conditioning unit blows hot air. It is currently in the shop replacing the ac unit. They said there was a leak and I am sure refrigerant is not a safe chemical to be leaking out in the environment.

Design flaw in vista sunroof on supercrew trucks is a known issue to leak. There is a service bulletin out but requires a $1200-$1500 repair fee. In addition, known flaw in lug nuts expanding to point of not being able to remove wheels. Coat to replace another known defect is $14 per lug nut. Major issues should be covered when related to locked wheels and water leakage into passenger compartment during operation.

The rear passenger power door lock intermittently fails to unlock the door and it will not work manually. This poses a safety hazard if someone needed to exit the vehicle in an emergency. The (driver's side) door sometimes does not latch completely, or will not close completely, even though we have had it repaired under fsa 18no3. We learned there was a fsa 19no2 and that the dealer should repair it again at no charge, but they want to charge us $150, even though Ford says it should be free.

30 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/26/2019

This vehicle is equipped with the "panoramic sunroof/moonfoof". It has never worked flawlessly since the day I purchased the vehicle. 3 days ago, it opened and now will not close. My vehicle basically has a permanent hole in the roof. Ford dealer says this is common problem and the entire window frame has to come out of the ceiling and be replaced by the one that Ford has "redesigned". . . But no recall.

31 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2019

Rear entry doors freeze open and will not latch. Recall 18n03 installed on January 25, 2019 and both doors failed to latch the next day. Drove to the dealer using a ratchet strap to hold doors shut where dealer took vehicle into chop to defrost. This issue persists - previous recall by Ford done in April - after winter season. Have been pleading with dealer since winter of 2015 and they said their hands are tied.

32 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2019

I have an extended cab 2015 F-150 pick up truck. The rear suicide doors do not latch closed which leaves the front seat belt attachment unattached to the car whatsoever. I took the truck to ed shults Ford in jamestown, NY and they determined the rear door latch cable is stretching out which keeps the door from latching. This is happening on a 3 year old truck. The dealer also informed me that they see this several times a week on other F-150's with the extended cab rear suicide doors. No recall or TSB has been issued so they are charging me to fix the cable and latch. This is a huge safety concern for me. The doors need to latch, how long will this "fix" last for? the truck is 3 years old, I should not need to replace door cables on the inside of the door ever, let alone within 3 years from being produced. The door cable is internal to the door and not affected by swinging the door open. I am asking for Ford to address the safety concern and provide all customers with a safe, long term fix for this door latch mechanism on 2015 F-150's with rear suicide doors.

33 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/08/2019

Door hinges freezing causing doors to not latch and open while driving.

34 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2019

Door latches freeze during cold weather. Can not open doors or can not get doors to close once opened. I have had all recalls and customer satisfaction programs preformed. Dealer has no other fix options available from Ford. All 2015 f150's exposed to cold climates have the potential for door latches to freeze. For the past three years I have had to drive with door or doors unable to close at times. I don't think a ratchet strap holding doors closed is safe. This is a serious issue that has been continuing for the past three winters. You just never know when the latches will or will not work.

35 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2018

2 f150 safety recalls: passenger side seat belt and door locking mechanism. Contacted gullo Ford conroe TX, they were not able to cheduje recall repairs due to inability to maintain stock and were not able to even schedule the repairs. Very dis-satisfied w the response and over all management of the repairs. No sense of urgency and concern about the criticality of the recalls.
