1 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2020

Driving on highway 3 different times when acceleration stopped and check engine light came. Fortunately traffic was light when vehicle decelerated. I took vehicle to my mechanic and he had to replace throttle body. He googled problem and saw numerous types of same part vehicle. Called my Ford dealer and he confirmed that they had had to replace throttle body on certain models but Ford had not yet issued a recall notice. This is a very dangerous situation to lose throttle suddenly while driving. My mechanic replaced part, but Ford will not address as a recall issue.

2 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/23/2020

While driving on the highway pulling a trailer the vehicle check engine light and wrench light came on with a warning that stated "service advance track and hill assist is not available. The vehicle then lost all power causing me try attempt to cross traffic to get to the side of the road without any engine power. After stopping the engine was shuddering. The vehicle needed to be towed into a dealer to be fixed. The electronic throttle body had failed causing the engine to go into "limp" mode(what ever that is). This is a very dangerous situation to have happen at highway speeds.

3 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 10/22/2019

The truck was running for about 15 minutes. We were going down a major highway in one of the passing lanes at approximately 70mph then without any warning power was lost. On the display trac stability came on then cycled thru hill assist and several others. I drifted of the road just past a exit. The engine felt like it was missing terribly as it cycling thru these errors. I shut it down and restarted it seemed ok, but check engine light still on, when I tried to move it started to shake and cycle errors again. I shut it down again and restarted this time it was running ok. The check engine light was still on and we drove with thecheck egine light for approximately 400 miles stopping and shuting off engine several times. Light still on. Stopped for 1 hour to eat when restarting no check engine light on and has been working as normal today.

4 Check Engine Light On problem

My 2015 f150 ecoboost has 100,000 miles on it. Over the past 10 days the truck has repeatedly lost power while driving in traffic on the highway. It happened while going up a hill on a cross-country trip, as well. The rpm drops down to 500 rpm, rough idle, no acceleration at all, hill assist light wrench light check engine light passenger air bag light and see owners manual pop up on the instrument panel (limp mode). Pulled off to side of road and had to stop and re-start the truck several times before we could continue our trip. I checked codes and logged a p2112. After some online research, I cleaned the throttle body. Looked online and youtube to discover this problem is not just me and frequently happens to others. This is a safety issue and could result in an accident. The truck should not enter limp mode for a minor issue like this. Luckily I was able to safely get over on the shoulder each time. I recently had my truck in for a recall and pcm software update. The rear differential went about a week after the update, and now the loss of power. (see https://youtu. Be/hxqvxxejzqo).

5 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2019

My 2015 f150 ecoboost has 79,156 miles on it. Over the past 3 days the truck has repeatedly lost power while driving in traffic on the highway. The rpm will drop down to 500 rpm, rough idle, no acceleration at all, hill assist light wrench light check engine light passenger air bag light and see owners manual pop up on the instrument panel. Took my truck into Ford today and they replaced the throttle body under my extende warranty not their emissions warranty as stated in their owners manual of 8 years or 80,000 miles. Called Ford and they don't know about an emissions warranty in their owners manual. Looked online and youtube to discover this problem is not just me and frequent with others. This can really cause a horrible accident. Luckily I'm a cdl driver and was able to safely get over on the shoulder this time. I'm not confident replacing the throttle body was a fix as it is a bandage to happen again at any point in time. This truck now is compromised and I wouldn't want any of my family using it or depending on it.

6 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2018

2015 Ford F-150 ecoboost, bought April 2018 with approx. 67,000 miles, currently at approx. 75,000 miles. I am reporting the sudden loss of accelerating power as the vehicle shudders and stalls both when moving with traffic or accelerating to enter or move with traffic. Multiple warning messages including the wrench light flash in the dash message area as the engine slows to idle with no ability to accelerate and comes to a stuttering stop. The first occurrence was three weeks ago and has happened no less than six time since - twice while accelerating onto the freeway (very busy, very fast traffic) and twice while crossing or turning in multi-lane intersections from stopped. Four of the six times resulted in my vehicle dying in and obstructing traffic with and me barely getting to the side of the road without an accident. I now shift to neutral to let momentum move the vehicle as I worm through traffic to the side of the road. Shutting off and restarting the engine clears or resets the message and sometimes "downhill assist not available" with the check engine light comes on. The check engine light has both stayed on or shut off on restart. I can then drive on the vehicle's own power, though the problem has repeated as soon as two minutes later, or not for days. I have not had to be towed and no accidents have occurred. The north carolina consumer's council filed a lawsuit against Ford in 2015 which was settled with Ford offering an extended warranty only on the etb (electronic throttle body) of certain model vehicles - all with the ecoboost engine, and multiple customer service actions (csa's) that have since expired. A few minutes on the Ford forums online and it is apparent that this is a widespread problem with the ecoboost engine, and Ford has offered several bandaids, but none until after the etb has failed and lives been endangered.

8 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 02/19/2017

On three occasions now while accelerating the vehicle suddenly looses all power. There have been audible warning sounds and check engine lights, also messages such as hill assist not available. On all occasions I was turning on to a street from a complete stop and accelerating. Turning off the engine seems to correct the problem. I have brought the vehicle to the dealer twice now.
