When filling gas tank, station fueling nozzle did not shut off, overflowing truck fill pipe. At next fueling, gas pipe was still full of gas at top flap valve; could not put gas into fuel tank. Took vehicle to dealer; who indicated that fuel tank was "collapsed" due to vacuum created by stopped up vent system. Fuel tank and accessories being replaced, but dealer charged me for work. Safety issue is collapsed fuel tank may break, leak and cause a gasoline fire, at any time. There is a system design flaw, or critical equipment item failure, that would not function properly when tank is overfilled. It is not uncommon that fuel station gas valves on end of station hose fail to shut off when tank is full, so the fuel system design should take this fact into consideration. This is a severe safety hazard which could result in an accident, fire and/or death.
