The sync 3 systems functions poorly or not at all. Often times it stalls, freezes or becomes unresponsive which can cause the following to happen. The screen goes black and I am unable to adjust the climate or use the radio. All functions are disabled. The screen get stuck with the backup camera on and all of the controls are disabled, including the climate control. The screen is unresponsive to the touch and the climate control, radio and all other functions do not work. The navigation gets stuck on the screen and the location is inaccurate and you cannot make other changes, including to the climate control. It does not matter if the vehicle is in motion or stationary as the sync 3 system does not function either way. This happens about every time I drive the vehicle but I had to enter a single date in the system. I asked the dealer about this but their response was "did you get the extended warranty?".
Back of camera screen failed. When putting truck in reverse the screen is blank. This same screen also displays the radio, and it is also blank. Happens when stationary or moving. At first the screen would go out, and after you drove the car and turned it off it would work again. Then it started to get fuzzy, and finally it went completely out. Unsafe if backing up unless you are aware that the back up camera screen is not working. I am the original owner and brought it to the attention of the dealer when it first happen when under warranty but because it was not failing they stated they would not be able to diagnose the problem, unfortunately for me it failed out of warranty and I paid to have this fix but I feel others may be having similar problems. If there is an issue perhaps this can be adverted for the future for other people .
On 5 separate occasions the dash display stopped working. Radio/cd player/backup camera would not work at all. The main concern is backing up at night in a crowded parking lot with the back of my truck loaded for a 9 day camping trip. I can not see out any of the camper shell windows at all. I could hit a parked vehicle or a pedestrian. This has happened 5 separate times.
Exhaust smell in cab. Have to drive with windows down to get rid of it. Ford says they can only help me when the smell is actually happening meaning I have to go to the shop right then and there. Also xm radio cuts in at out. Ford knows it's an issue but has no fix. It's at the same intersections everyday. They said keep checking in for possible fixed.
