The accelerator pedal got stuck on theforward edge of the floor mat, causing the engine to stay at high rpm. Driver put car in neutral and pulled to the side of the road to avoid crash. The dealer has been notified.

The accelerator gets stuck on driver's side floor mat due to location of floor mat. This only happens upon full acceleration.

Consumer was backing out of the driveway, stepping on accelerator which was stiff, consumer stepped on it harder which promptly floored and stuck. Consumer had to shift into neutral turning the key off and had to unstick accelerator by hand. This vehicle has had the accelerator to stick twice after the initial incident. Ford was aware of the problem and said it was a cold weather moisture problem. Vehicle has been fixed, but because there wasno cold weather at this time consumer was not sure. . . . .
