While installing new shocks my mechanic saw that the frame is rusted to the point of being unsafe to drive, some of the connections of the truck bed and cab we so rusted they were disconnected. There were holes 1-2" in diameter in the main frame. Took the truck to local dealer which inspected it ask said the frame needed to be changed, when I asked if the truck was safe to drive the service rep did not want to answer the question, only said "frame has to be changed" I left the truck there as I did not want to sign any release of liability as felt unsafe driving the truck. I am first owner, bought the truck brand new and always maintained it and took good care of it.

The truck has a body frame that was cracked in several spots and welded back together in more then 5 different spots and the welding job is very poor. The truck has a power steering line leak, cvs axle leaks and a exhaust manifold leak. The dealership fixed upper ball joints when we agreed on lower and upper in the front. They added a exhaust but did not do the job correctly with completing the job and the welding of it. Ive made a complaint with the loan company and I as well have talked to the owner of the dealership and he fights that none of those things are wrong with the truck and im lying but I have had a inspection done on the truck. When I got the truck I looked it over and so did my brother I pointed the issues of what needed fixed that I could see and that was not done. I then started having issues with the truck and took it to a mechaninc and had an inspection done.

To whom it may concern, I am writing to formally report a recurring water intrusion issue with my vehicle, which poses a potential safety risk. Whenever it rains and the vehicle is parked outside, water consistently leaks into the passenger-side interior. While driving, especially during acceleration or braking, I can hear the sound of water moving within the passenger side area. Upon inspection, I have found water pooling in the front passenger footwell, where multiple electrical wires are located. Additionally, there is an electrical control box situated beneath the passenger seat that may also be exposed to moisture. I also discovered water leaking behind the rear seat area. This section contains two air vents, which may be contributing to the issue. The water intrusion raises serious concerns about electrical system integrity, especially given the presence of wiring and components in affected areas. Although my vehicle has not yet experienced electrical failure while driving, I am aware of multiple reports from other owners who have encountered similar leaks that led to sudden engine shutdowns, including while driving in traffic — a serious safety hazard. I brought my vehicle to the service center for evaluation, but as of now, I have not received any resolution or updates regarding a fix. I have several videos of the situation as well. Given the potential risk to both vehicle occupants and others on the road, I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate this matter further to determine whether a recall or other safety action is warranted. Thank you for your attention to this serious issue.

The doors do not close when cold I have to use the seatbelt to rap around doors to keep them shut. I have brought to Ford multiple times no fix. The transmission erratically shifts through multiple gears and downshifts into low gears when at high rate of speed. Which I have been told is due to a faulty cdf drum in transmission that Ford wont take responsibility for. It is a very dangerous vehicle.

(2022 Ford f150 supercrew XLT) the sunroof wind deflector screen that pops up when you open the sunroof broke at 75mph and could have caused an accident or killed a motorcyclist. The vehicle only has 38000 miles on it. I observed that the wind screen was attached to the roof by 4 small screws. The product is made of plastic and cannot sustain highway driving. I observed another complain on the internet at 70mph same thing. Mullinex Ford of apopka FL is where the vehicle was purchased. I believe the screen should be made of metal to prevent it from breaking. I am terrified of replacing it because I am certain it will break again. Website part #fl3z-16500a26-c.

Door latching system is often inoperable when temperatures are below freezing. The door will not latch and must be held close while driving. Vehicle has been repaired once by dealer per bulletin 18n03 but the problem persists.
Driver door won't lock or unlock in extreme cold. To exit and enter truck, I have to use the passenger door and slide into driver seat, which is very difficult b/c of the center console. No way I could get out of the truck in a hurry if I had to. Took to a dealer but of course it couldn't be duplicated. Internet search shows this is a problem with the 2021 Ford f150.

Safety recall 17s33 has been completed on my 2017 f150. The truck is not driven that much, and this year has been unusually cold. My door latches have been freezing again making it impossible to close the door. In some cases, you don't know until the door just flies open. Several times now I have had to drive down the road holding the door/doors closed until the latches decide to thaw enough to actuate. I contacted Ford and was told that the repair was only warrantied for 2 years. A quick search online and there is a multitude of owners still having this issue. This is unacceptable for a life-threatening safety defect that the manufacture has known about and is too cheap to correct the problem permanently.
The doors do not properly latch in cold weather. Yes available for inspection. The door came open while we driving down the road. The dash light came on indicating door was ajar. Door was not able to be closed after repeated attempts of closing. Passenger has to hold the door closed. Same occurrence happened to the driver side door and it would not latch so the vehicle couldn’t be used that day otherwise driver would have to hold door closed.
Tailgate opening without interference from driver.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the exterior door handles and latching mechanism failed due to freezing in cold weather. When temperatures drop, the door handles become stuck or the latch mechanism fails to engage or disengage properly. This issue is reproducible during cold weather and the affected components are available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the malfunction poses a safety risk in multiple ways. The doors may not close securely, which could result in a door opening while driving. Conversely, frozen latches can prevent doors from opening, which is a serious concern in the event of an emergency where rapid exit from the vehicle is required. This could endanger both the driver and passengers. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? the issue has not yet been confirmed by a dealer, but it is a widely documented problem among 2021 Ford F-150 owners, and it occurs consistently during cold weather conditions. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no formal inspection by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives has been conducted to date. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? there were no warning lamps or dashboard messages. The issue was first noticed during freezing temperatures in the winter season. The symptoms are physical—frozen or stuck handles and malfunctioning door latches.
Driver side door latch won’t latch when cold- below freezing temperatures. The door stays frozen in the open position and is unable to latch closed stays open when driving.

While driving this past weekend 24-26 January 2025, my vehicle's tailgate dropped on its own while driving. The first two instances I discovered the tailgate down when I arrived at my destination. While I only had a few light items in my truck bed, this could have been catastrophic as I was traveling at highway speeds and do typically carry heavier loads. On the third instance, I was sitting in my idling vehicle and felt and observed when the tailgate opened on its own. I have an appointment scheduled with my local Ford dealership for Friday 31 January 2025. The dealership advised me that because I am at 40000 miles and outside the 36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty that I will likely have to pay out of pocket. I also called Ford customer service today to make them aware of this issue. They indicated they were aware of a similar issue affecting vehicles from my model year, but that that coverage only applied for vehicles built through April 2022, whereas mine was built in November 2022. They provided me with a case number (cxh-03471789) and stated they would assist with the repair and based on other reports may take further action.
Three of my four doors sporadically fail to close and latch. When I open the door the latch does not fully open, so when I try to close the door the latch prevents it from closing. Maybe it is just normal wear and tear, but I understand there was a recall for something with latches on this era of F-150s, and my VIN is not part of that. I'm reporting this in case it's useful information and in case it indicates the recall should be expanded. So far I have been able to use a screwdriver to push the latch open, and the door will close and latch after that. I can not replicate this consistently.
Door fails to close and latch shut. Several other recalls on this issue but my VIN was not included. I am currently not able to drive the car with out the door falling open related recalls provided to me by Ford 17s33 19n06 18n03.
The door locks on all four doors keep freezing and will not stay locked. I have to thaw them out with a hair dryer to get them to lock closed. With my kids in the vehicle and driving down the road at normal operating speeds the doors will just pop open enough to hear the road noise outside and the interior lights come on along with the doors open warning on the main dash. My children have to hold onto the door handles to keep the doors somewhat closed until we get to our destination. While this happens I am forced to go lower than normal speed limits and drastically slow down in turns just to keep the doors from swinging open while completing the turns all while my kids hold onto the doors. This is extremely dangerous. But I'm forced to do this as my kids need to get to school and I need to get to work. I have read that Ford has chosen this is not a concern for recall. I feel this should be a recall as peoples lives are at danger of flying out and and the danger to the general public.
Doors will not latch in temps below 30degrees f.
Driver door cable sticking open when low temps occur. Driver door does not latch until vehicle is locked or key is inserted into door and manually positioned or key fob is used to lock the vehicle.
At cold temperatures driver side door will not latch.
Rear doors get frozen and will not latch to stay shut. My daughter almost flew out of the vehicle when we went around a corner. I literally had to turn the heat on high hood the door closed for 30 minutes to get it warm enough to latch and stay shut. This is usually following a car wash within a 7 day span. I am not sure how there cannot be a recall for this. Everyone that I know with an f150 has had the same issues.
Lafontaine Ford birch run mi falsified recalls on my 2016 f150. They claimed they were done, however I have had several other Ford dealers state that there is missing parts and it was obvious it was not completed. This recall is for my door cables freezing up making it unsafe for me to commute when cold. I have held my door shut all the way to work multiple times because it would not latch. Other Ford dealers near me quoted me 2 thousand to fix both front doors. I reached out to lafontaine myself, they seemed to have wanted to help right away but as soon as they heard more of the story they quickly began to not answer my calls. (service managers).

Leaking sunroom. I cleaned tube's couple times and it is still happening. Ever time it's been raining my floor mat is soaking wet.
I live in a cold climate, wa state, and own a 2017 Ford f150 XLT. On several occasions, both the drivers front door and passenger front doors have opened while driving without activating the door handle. This only occurs when it is wet with rain or snow and below freezing outside. On several occasions, when wet and cold, the doors on this truck will not latch shut as the latching mechanism is freezing on the interior of the vehicle doors. This truck has already been into the Ford dealer and the door recall notice has been addressed and fixed per corwin Ford. The problem has not been resolved and continues to this day in an extremely dangerous state. I was advised there was nothing else they could do to help the door suddenly and unexpectedly opening issue and that I should contact both Ford and NHTSA. This is a very dangerous situation as my son was driving home from the ski resort, the doors would not latch shut and a passenger nearly fell out of the vehicle. This is unacceptable and extremely disappointing. I feel this safety issue has not been handled by Ford motor company and I am very afraid to have my son drive this truck in this dangerous condition. Please contact me regarding this complaint as I can give further details on the issue and send videos of this issue occurring. When this occurs, there are no warning lamps present. Please see the attached repair invoice for the recall notice.
The door latches on some of the f150s, including mine, freeze under certain weather conditions. This presents the latches from opening. This can trap an individual inside in an emergency situation, or prevent someone from opening the door external to remove or address babies and children, which is an issue I experienced. Ford is aware of the problem, but will not repair unless the issue is replicated in an unrealistic environment. This leaves many owners at risk of a dangerous situation should the issue occur in a non-controlled environment. The inverse issue can also occur, where the door latches does not close properly and can cause the door to open during driving, and this has also been experienced. There are no warnings of the problem ahead of time.
Door latch freezing during cold winter months(every year) where temperatures drop below 32°f even after Ford recall done on both front door latches. Inability to open door, then after door opened there is an inability for door to latch until it warmed up.
The door locks freeze in the unlock state and doors will not close and lock. This is a recurring problem for several years. Door will not close and stay closed until the truck heats up.
Tailgate latch does not work all the time . Sometimes just drops open when driving.
Both rear doors would not open from the outside or inside. They were not locked. They just would not open using the handle inside, trying to pull up on the lock mechanism and unlocking and locking numerous times. The doors would still not open. A child and a dog were in the back seat. I could not access them from the doors had to bring them through the front of the vehicle, which was very difficult. Periodically one door will be ok to open, the next day the door will not open, may or may not depending on how the door feels like working that particular daynot open.

Door latches freeze and doors will not shut.
The door latches was not latching in cold weather until they are warmed up and then they latch. It is a safety thing for me and my kids and wife.
Took my vehicle to Ford dealership to have leaking sunroof checked, had it repaired for broken track, but the amazing things was the price that Ford charge me for the repair of the sunroof track which was $5507. 49, wasn’t really told why it cost me so much being that it’s a 2018. I do have the receipt, and has been trying to find a lawyer to try and recover some of my losses. Please let me know what I should do about this repair.
Front passenger door failed to latch properly. The door will not close when pushed shut. Door is available for inspection upon request. Multiple family members ride in the front passenger seat and this door failing to close and latch properly does cause a serious concern for their safety. I avoid putting any passenger in the front passenger seat because it's is completely random if the door will latch and shut or if it will pop open while driving. Problem was reproduced and confirmed by local dealership but disputed by them. Vehicle has not be inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance. There was no warning lamps or messages of the problem prior to the failure. The only message is that the passenger door is open which is a typical message when any door is opened when entering and exiting the vehicle. It is not a warning. Just a reminder. Doors shutting, latching and locking properly are a major safety concern that no vehicle owner should have to stress over. I cannot safely put my family in this truck knowing that at any moment the door will not latch or that it will open as we drive down the road.
Frame has rotted away.

The structural integrity of the hood and front bumper failed due to unsafe modifications performed by rocky ridge and endorsed by Ford motor company. The hood's structural reinforcements and crush zones were cut to fit a hood scoop, and sections of the front bumper were removed, compromising crashworthiness. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and I have documented with images. The modifications to the hood and front bumper compromised the vehicle’s crashworthiness, potentially increasing the risk of severe injury or death in a collision. The removal of structural reinforcements and crush zones on both components prevents them from functioning as designed to absorb and distribute impact forces during a crash, endangering all occupants of the vehicle. The problem has been confirmed by an independent collision repair center, a Ford certified collision center and my insurance company usaa. Both parties have stated that the modifications to the hood and bumper are unsafe, and the insurance company has refused to authorize repairs that replicate the original modifications due to safety concerns. The vehicle has been inspected by my insurance company and a collision repair center. Both confirmed the safety concerns resulting from the modifications and highlighted that the affected components cannot be repaired or replaced without compromising safety. Images were provided to Ford motor company and inspected by Ford collision center manager. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other visible symptoms of the problem prior to the discovery of the modifications during a repair process. Ford positon statements and on target tech bulitens prohibit these types of modifications and were violated, then conceled so that the consumer would not be able to see them unless in an accident. Ford is citing that the time frame exceeds 24 months so there is nothing that they are willing to do about it. This is a failure to warn and product defect that impacts safety.
