2 Defroster/defogger/hvac System problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 04/06/2024

I recently purchased a new 2023 Ford f150, xl trim, crew cab truck. This weekend on a trip, the vehicle's air conditioning began to malfunction. After operating for less than an hour and without adjusting the fan motor speed, the volume of air coming out of the vents gradually decreases to nothing and the cab of the vehicle begins to warm. With only 350 miles on the vehicle, I pulled off of the road, turned off the engine, and let the vehicle set for 20 minutes, hoping everything would reset. After the 20-minute period, I started the vehicle and the ac seemed to be working as it should. After driving another 20-30 minutes, the cab began to warm again and upon checking the air coming from the vents, it was minimal to none. I turned up the fan to max speed and the volume of air coming from the vents remained minimal and the temperature in the cab continued to rise. This time I turned the system ac off (no compressor) and left the fan on to bring in outside air in hopes of dropping the cabin temp. Immediately after turning the ac system off the air flow from the vents increased to a normal level. After operating with the ac off for 20 minutes, I turned the ac back on and the system, and yet again, the ac system operated as it should. This went on for my entire 8-hour trip. Not only an uncomfortable inconvenience, but this issue could also be safety issue (visibility) when depending on the vehicle's defog/defrost system as the ac system (compressor and condenser) is used for defogging/defrosting the vehicles windows. A similar issue has been noted in previous year models under Ford tech service bulletin 22-2089. Being my issue is duplicated in the issue section of the service bulletin, the year model of my vehicle is not included. In performing some internet research, it seems that many owners of 2023 Ford f150 models are experiencing this exact issue. This issue does not cause panel lights to illuminate. Currently awaiting call back from Ford dealer.
