1 Electrical System problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 03/02/2026

Driving home last night looking in my rear view mirrors I noticed it looked dark at the back of my f150. Once home I noticed I had no rear running lights, no brake lights, no rear turn signals. Not sure related but 2 days earlier I noticed that about 5 indicator lights on my dashboard were activated all relating to driver assist lane changing, backing up assist, hill parking assist, traction control and so on.

2 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/28/2026

The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph and hauling a trailer, the rear brake lights failed to illuminate. There were several messages displayed related to the trailer connection and brake lights. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the trailer was difficult to control, and the display screen inside the vehicle was flashing off and on. The vehicle was driven back to a storage facility. While reversing and attempting to park the trailer, the message that the trailer was disconnected from the vehicle was displayed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was contacted and informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 26v104000 (electrical system, exterior lighting). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

3 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/25/2026

Two things, the dash stopped displaying speed. As I was driving the dash glitched out and the digital speed would not display. It started only showing the top half of how fast I was going. Then it completely went out. Second, the radio also glitches. Won't let me change station or sources. I usually have to turn the truck off for 10 to 15 minutes, then it starts fixing the issues. This has been an ongoing problem. And no recalls for this issue have been placed.

5 Electrical System problem of the 2019 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/19/2026

My 2019 Ford F-150 (2. 7l ecoboost) is subject to emission recall 24e12, which addresses a defective pcm calibration that Ford acknowledges "could, over time, reduce the effectiveness of the emissions control system and the monitoring accuracy of the catalytic converter's efficiency. " component: catalytic converter system and powertrain control module (pcm). Vehicle is available for inspection at rich Ford in albuquerque, nm, where it has been serviced for this issue. Timeline: prior to the 24e12 recall repair, my truck had intermittent p0420/p0430 codes (catalyst efficiency below threshold). The check engine light would illuminate and then clear on its own. I brought the vehicle to rich Ford for the 24e12 pcm reprogram. Within approximately one month of the recall repair, the same catalytic converter codes returned, except now the condition is constant and no longer clears. This timeline is documented in my Fordpass app and the dealer's service records. Safety risk: the constant check engine light prevents the vehicle from passing bernalillo county emissions testing, which is required for registration in albuquerque, nm. I am unable to legally register my vehicle due to a condition caused by a manufacturer-acknowledged defect. Dealer confirmation: rich Ford diagnosed the recurring p0420/p0430 codes. They initially attempted to charge me $300+ for extended diagnostics. They are now consulting with Ford about whether a catalytic converter replacement will be covered under the recall. Prior symptoms: the intermittent check engine light with p0420/p0430 codes existed before the recall repair but was not constant. The recall repair worsened the condition from intermittent to persistent. Pattern: Ford's recall documentation states the mil "may illuminate even though a catalytic converter repair may not be necessary," yet numerous owners report being quoted $1,900-$2,100+ for cat replacement at their own expense after the 24e12 reprogram. Ford corporate confirmed the $300.

8 Electrical System problem of the 2019 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/16/2026

Truck started smoking from under the hood in the area of the battery compartment while driving. Then truck burst into flames. 53,000 miles. No injuries. Hillsborough county fire rescue came to the scene with report number xxx-xxx and can be reached at [xxx] . Sticker shows built in may 2019. There was a recall 19s40 which applied to vehicles made in June 2019. So I was only one month prior to the official recall date. However, 19s40 specifically mentions fire risk. I believe my truck had this defect and was not recalled when it should have been. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

9 Electrical System problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/13/2026

My 2022 Ford f150 wouldn’t start one morning. There was power and a lot of codes came up on the dash pod. I had it towed to the Ford dealer and they confirmed a no start situation. They replaced the under hood fuse box (warped from heat) and ultimately found a chaffed wiring harness with corroded and broken wires. It’s my opinion that a wiring harness is not a wearable item and this was caused by a friction situation. It’s my opinion that this could potentially be a safety issue if I was driving the vehicle and this happened it would be a total loss of power. The Ford dealer repaired the 2 wires and re-taped the harness.

11 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/13/2026

When driving, the truck will down shift or won’t to shift up at all. After turning the vehicle off, it seems to resolve itself after you turn it back on. Unless the orange light to indicate gear won’t appear. Then vehicle won’t start when the gear can’t be indicated, leaving myself or family members stranded. It refuses to start in neutral as well. I took the vehicle to car x. I have no check engine nor do I have any transmission codes. I was told it may be a pcm to transmission problem and to check for recalls. My vehicle doesn’t show on the recall list but is showing symptoms of a recall listed.

12 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/11/2026

The vehicle reported a charging system failure alert and came to a jerking stop. The battery was completely drained and the alternator had failed at 71,000 miles. The vehicle stopped in the drive lane on a heavily trafficked road. The emergency release lever was found and pulled to allow the truck to pull over.

13 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/11/2026

While driving at approximately 55 mph the vehicle began to behave strangely. The "d" light for drive and the gear indicator began to flash. Then the transmission abruptly down shifted to 2nd gear from 5th then lost all power before returning to somewhat normal operation for a short period of time before happening again. The issue occurred multiple times in a 5 mile trip. If there was anyone close behind me it could have resulted in a crash, or it could result in myself losing control of the vehicle. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a mechanic. There were no warning lamps or any messages prior to, during, or after the issue.

Back up camera is defective. Known issue of poor solder joints. Camera is now inoperable. Began as an occasional disconnect. Then camera works. Ford claims no issues however it’s know to be a problem on this series within owners group.

15 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/05/2026

My truck has had multiple issues with randomly downshifting while on the freeway, I'm getting a code that leads back to the "lead frame" wiring every now and then. The code comes and goes without having it cleared. I've had this issue before and have replaced it with the Ford manufactured part. Its now doing it again but now more frequent not even a year and a half after replacement. I have been almost rear ended multiple times due to it locking up the rear tires and once it locked up the tire on ice and it caused me to slide into the median. There are multiple reports of this issue currently on many Ford truck forums. I am currently in the process of contacting Ford again as last time they said to just replace the wiring. My truck is equipped with the 6-speed transmission.

16 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/02/2026

I seen there were some issues going around with the 6r80 and wanted to voice my concerns as I am having this issue as well. Intermittently ive been having issues where ill be driving, could be doing 65 down the highway. The wrench light pops up for a second and my truck slams down into 2nd or 3rd gear and goes into limp mode. This could happen at any given time without warning. This just happened to me on Monday, went and got a code reading, and have a code for the output shaft speed sensor. Although I was fine, it is certainly not okay the truck just decided to slam down into gear ultimately slowing down the vehicle tremendously fast while being in traffic. Could have caused an accident or worse.

21 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/25/2026

Truck began reviving at high idle after throwing a check engine light, then wrench light as I was driving. I was able to safely get off the road. Shut it down wouldn't restart. I let it sit for 4 hrs, it started then I began driving again as there was no indication of an issue before. At 50mph it happened again. Truck began reviving at recline, check engine and wrench light. Shut it down again, and this process of restarting again hours later as nothing was wrong is still going on, 3 yrs of it. Check engine codes that do come up when it begins again all point to speed sensor and leadframe. Someone said check cam sensors but have no check engine on them at all, only leadframe issues that abruptly occur out the blue. When it happens I can driving at any speed and first thing that happens is the throttle revs to redline and truck begins shifting abnormal, check engine, wrench, shutdown(thankfully), then hours again now indication of an issue! when I get the truck shut off and off the road, which I had it towed 7 times, show p705,706,707 codes all pertaining to leadframe. Please for the sake NY family and many others recall the 2015-2017 f150s for this $2000 electrical sensor replacement that is putting lives in jeopardy.

22 Electrical System problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/25/2026

After operating the vehicle normally and backing into a parking space, I stopped the vehicle and selected park, turned the vehicle off, and exited. Before the driver’s door was closed, the vehicle began to roll forward unexpectedly. I ran back to the vehicle and reentered it to regain control, with the driver’s door still open and the seatbelt not fastened. After stopping the vehicle, I selected reverse, at which point the vehicle surged backward unexpectedly. The open driver’s door struck another vehicle and the driver, and my vehicle continued backward, colliding with a fence and then a tree. The vehicle did not behave as expected after park was selected, creating a serious safety risk to myself and others. Several vehicle systems appeared to malfunction or fail during the incident. The specific component or system responsible is not yet known, and the vehicle is currently available for inspection. The incident resulted in property damage and back pain, for which I later sought medical care. The vehicle has been inspected by a collision repair facility and is currently being handled through insurance. The manufacturer has been informed and stated that insurance should make determinations regarding the incident.

23 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/23/2026

I was in the parking lot of my local grocery store, and the truck all of a sudden gave me an indicator that there is a "park brake fault-service now. " I was stranded and had to have someone pick me up for this, this is after hours so I cannot call the Ford dealership until the following day. I now see Ford issued a recall for this under 23s35. However, when I look up my VIN under Ford, that did not show, and thus, we did not address this earlier when that should have happened. That is a problem and needs to be addressed with Ford ASAP. What if I was driving and this happened??!!.

24 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/10/2026

On 3 separate occasions, while traveling at highway speeds on the NJ garden state parkway in the left lane, my truck’s service engine light soon wrench would come on out of nowhere, the throttle would cut out, and the gas pedal would go limp and unresponsive. The only way to get it operational again was to turn the truck off, let it sit for 10-15 min to drain the computers, and restart. Imagine doing 70-75 mph in the left most lane and you lose all throttle and have to get your vehicle all the way to the right shoulder without the ability to speed up to avoid being hit in the process. Now imagine that same thing happening 3 times within a month. The dealership found failed factory power train wiring and a failed gateway module. This truck’s a 2023 with 50k highway miles. Shouldn’t be failing like this. Now it’s been at the dealership for 3 weeks…. .

25 Electrical System problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/10/2026

So I was walking back to my truck and could hear a really loud humming/buzzing. As I approached my truck in the parking lot, I realized it was my truck. It was super loud, like the radio was turned all the way up. It had a consistent rhythm to it also. I was wondering if maybe the alarm had tried to go off since I was a qt, but it was just blasting through the internal speakers, nothing over the external speaker. I started it hoping it would stop. It did not, I shut it back off, and restarted it. It was making the super loud noise this entire time. I turned off the radio, turned off the display, disconnected my phone from the connection, and nothing worked. I had to drive home about 15 minutes with it making this horrible and loud pulsating noise the entire time. I parked, turned it off and was going to get tools out of the garage to take off the battery terminal and as I walked back towards it, the noise just stopped. It was so loud, my ears were ringing for a couple of hours afterward. I looked in my Ford pass app and it doesn't show any faults or anything. The video/audio does not do it justice for how insanely loud it was. . . . . But you can hear the rhythm that it had. My daughter had a panic attack and ended up vomiting. The vehicle was not on, the phone was not connected as it was not in the truck. There were no warning lights or signs that I could see because it was making the noise as I was approaching the truck. I have a short video of it with the audio noise.

26 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/09/2026

Cabin coolant heater failed. Windshield would not properly defrost. This was recalled in our same model year with production dates through August 31 and our truck was produced on October 2.

27 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/08/2026

When temperatures are below freezing, the passenger side door remains locked, and cannot be unlocked with the key fob or the unlock buttons on either the driver side or passenger side door. The manual door lock cannot be pulled out, as it sinks down inside the door, and there is no external locking/unlocking mechanism to use the key to manually unlock the passenger side door. Dealer said there was nothing wrong with it, but brought it into the shop to look at it, where the temperature is higher than freezing.

28 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/07/2026

?"when driving on interstate 15 in draper/bluffdale, external electronic interference forcefully disconnects the vehicle's infotainment and safety displays. This causes the main screen to go black, reboot, or freeze while moving at highway speeds (70+ mph). This creates an immediate distraction hazard and disables navigation instructions during high-speed traffic flow. The vehicle's shielding is insufficient to protect the driver from this predictable external interference, leading to a recurring safety hazard in a known dead zone. ".

29 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/02/2026

I was not in an accident. I have a 2018 Ford f150 XLT and it has a 3. 5 eco boost. My truck is leaking some type of oil from the top and has very bad fuel injectors which is why my truck cant accelerate and shakes extremely bad. When I sit at a red light my truck dies and I think I have a leaking exhaust. I bought a new battery but it still dies. I know they used to do a recall for a new engine from what I’ve searched but they don’t do it anymore and I don't think its safe for me driving while I have all those problems. I have not been in an accident but with all these problems my truck could possibly die or go out while I’m on the highway and just makes me nervous driving something like that when the 3. 5 eco boost is already not a great engine. Thank you.

31 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 12/27/2025

I was driving and all of the dash lights came on simultaneously and I lost power braking ability while on the interstate. I was able to pull over and the truck shut off. I had to call a tow truck because it would not start back up. The aaa servicer reprogrammed the battery which turned all of the warning lights off except for the "push brake to start" warning and the truck will still not start because of this. The tech with aaa advised there is a recall related to this issue but my VIN search returns no results.

32 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 12/26/2025

I was driving home and the truck started to shift very harshly and had died at a stoplight , I put it into park and restarted it and the engine light came on tried to put it into drive and it had jumped forward very rough as soon as I did, started driving again and then the truck shifted into 5th gear and would not shift out of 5th gear at all was very slowly leaving from stop signs and the high speed fans had turned on and ran the entire rest of the time. Causing very irratic shifting where at times it would down shift and skid the tires.
