1 Electrical System problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/11/2026

While traveling at cruising speed (70 mph) on interstate 95 south, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic electrical and mechanical failure, resulting in an immediate engine stall. The vehicle lost all propulsion. Due to the sudden loss of power, the vehicle could not safely clear the active lanes of traffic, coasting to a stop near an exit ramp and dangerously blocking highway traffic. Upon attempting to restart the vehicle to move it out of harm's way, the vehicle emitted a rapid clicking noise and again stalled out. Because this vehicle utilizes an electronic shift-by-wire system, the total power failure permanently locked the transmission into "park. " the vehicle could not be shifted into "neutral" or "drive" to be pushed safely off the road. This total vehicle failure created an immediate, life-threatening hazard for the occupants and surrounding motorists on a high-speed interstate, requiring emergency police intervention to manage traffic until a flatbed tow truck arrived.

2 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/10/2026

My 2021 Ford F-150 intermittently displays the warning message “reverse brake assist not available – see manual” when the vehicle is placed in reverse. When this message appears, the reverse brake assist / parking collision warning feature is not available, which may reduce safety while backing up. The vehicle was inspected by a Ford dealership. The dealership confirmed dtc u3000:49 in the ipma module and identified Ford TSB 23-2040 as applicable to the concern. The dealer stated that the repair requires an ipma software/module update and calibration. The quoted repair cost was approximately $1,100. This appears to be a software/programming-related condition affecting a driver assistance and brake-related safety feature, not normal wear and tear or a failed mechanical component. The warning is intermittent, but it has appeared multiple times. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. No crash, injury, or fire has occurred. Ford customer support was contacted and case number xxx was opened. Ford advised that no active warranty, recall, or customer satisfaction program currently provides repair cost coverage, and that because this involves reverse brake assist, I may choose to file a safety concern report with NHTSA.

3 Electrical System problem of the 2011 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/08/2026

I am having a lead frame issue. At various speeds, the vehicle will just down shift, locking the tires and causing a hazard for other drivers which could be a very dangerous situation. I was impacted from the rear due to this occurrence. It causes extreme jerkiness when doing this which is also injurious to my back and neck and shoulders.

4 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/07/2026

My 2015 Ford F-150 experienced a sudden, dangerous loss of throttle power while driving, forcing an emergency stop on the side of the road. The vehicle is now locked in a hard electronic no-start/no-crank condition. We diagnosed the vehicle and pulled active, stored trouble codes p0706 and p0707 for the transmission range sensor (trs). This failure matches the exact defect described in NHTSA campaign 26v237 / Ford recall 26s28. However, Ford corporate and the local dealership (washington Ford in PA) are actively refusing to provide an emergency diagnostic scan, towing, or physical parts replacement, claiming they will not honor the remedy until June 30th. This has left a hazardous, disabled vehicle stranded on my property. They have acknowledged this meets the criteria of the safety recall but want me to pay for the towing of the disabled vehicle, diagnostics, and repair upfront including the lead frame which the recall notice specifically states should be replaced because the codes were thrown before reprogramming.

5 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/01/2026

The vehicle lost power rolling from a stop sign, felt like it was trying to shift but wouldn’t then went into limp mode, drove fine the next day. The faulty lead frame is failing, it has no other cause. I refuse to drive and put myself and others in danger to prove it. The dealer said they couldn’t cover it because the code is not covered in the recall, they recommended a new valve body or transmission, they didn't even say why. They were able to recreate it wrench light. P2704 is the code they claimed with the 2 leading causes are valve body, they said my fluid was clean and the vehicle has up to date service with no previous sign of wear, or the lead frame going out, the actively recalled part. I tried contacting Ford directly and they refused assistance beyond “tow it to a different dealer” and then ended the conversation. It is a safety issue that I will not wait to have break if there is clear signs of it happening.

6 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/01/2026

My vehicle is currently subject to an open Ford transmission safety recall for which no repair remedy is available at this time. The vehicle is experiencing a recurring and dangerous failure while driving. Approximately twice per day, during my normal commute, all vehicle electronics suddenly shut off while the vehicle is in motion. At the same time, the wheels appear to lock up, causing a sudden loss of vehicle control and creating a significant crash risk. When the failure occurs, I am forced to immediately shift the transmission into neutral while the vehicle is still moving. After approximately 5 to 10 seconds, I can shift back into drive and continue operating the vehicle. However, vehicle electronics often remain inoperative for the remainder of the trip. This condition is occurring repeatedly and has become more frequent. The issue currently occurs approximately once during my drive to work and once during my drive home. My commute is approximately 20 minutes each way. The vehicle has not yet been involved in a crash, but I believe a crash is likely if this condition continues. The sudden loss of power, loss of electronics, and wheel lockup while driving creates an immediate safety hazard to myself, my passengers, and other motorists. I am submitting this complaint because the vehicle is subject to an active safety recall, the condition appears related to the recall, and no repair remedy is currently available. I believe the vehicle is unsafe to operate.

7 Electrical System problem of the 2020 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/30/2026

Issue description: the radio/infotainment system intermittently cuts out and produces loud static noises while driving. The issue occurs without warning and happens repeatedly. Safety concern: the sudden loss of audio and loud static creates a distraction while driving and can interfere with hearing important external sounds (traffic, emergency vehicles, etc. ). The unpredictable nature of the problem increases driver distraction and could contribute to unsafe driving conditions. Conditions: occurs while driving (various speeds) happens intermittently no clear trigger.

8 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/29/2026

After a day of heavy rain, the vehicle stalled at a stop light and would not restart. The steering wheel and transmission locked, preventing the vehicle from being placed in neutral, creating a safety hazard as the vehicle was immobile in traffic. No warning lamps appeared prior to the failure. The vehicle required a tow. The dealer confirmed water had intruded through the passenger side cowl/firewall seam due to inadequate factory sealing, tracking down and pooling directly onto the body control module (bcm) mounted on the passenger side firewall. The bcm failed due to water damage, causing pats desynchronization and the no-start condition. The bcm failure subsequently shorted out the starter motor. Dealer replaced the bcm, repaired the leak, and replaced the starter. Total repair cost approximately $3,200. Failed components are available for inspection at the dealership. This identical failure; passenger side cowl water intrusion leading directly to bcm damage — is documented across numerous 2021+ F-150 owner forums, indicating a widespread factory sealing defect at the cowl/firewall/inner fender seam junction.

9 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/28/2026

Vehicle suddenly locked the steering wheel at approximatelyn20-25 mph dash displayed a front camera failure and the motor stopped. I had to put the vehicle in park and restart. It happened again with in a minute. Then a third time after driving apron. 120 miles. As I slowed to a stop light the same thing happen a third time. This occurred at 20-25 mph.

10 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/27/2026

My 2021 Ford F-150 has been having trouble with the transmission. Hard shifting, shifting to 10th gear at 40mph and unable to downshift after slowing down. I have also had issues with the daytime running lights not working since around 45k miles. My truck only has 59k miles at the time of me typing this.

11 Electrical System problem of the 2025 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/27/2026

My vehicle does not appear on the recall list for repair concerning trailer lighting module fault. Trailer was tested on 5 other vehicles within our neighborhood and worked perfectly. Addressed issue with Ford dealership and was told vehicle was not on recall list, yet the error is there. It appears the vehicle needs the updated software Ford has issued but dealership refused to issue repair. Vehicle is still under warranty.

13 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/26/2026

Tried to turn on vehicle one morning and it would not start due a parking brake error message & a warning light on the dashboard. The message on the screen behind the steering wheel stated “park brake fault service now” and there was a clicking noise heard coming from underneath the truck. I tried to reset the parking brake by pressing and holding the button as indicated online but it didn’t work. The brake also physically revolted at me pressing down on it and would stutter/thump and not let me press it down fully without heavy resistance. The clicking noise continued randomly even when I was not in the vehicle. Then the door locks stopped working with my car keys, I could only open the drive door manually. I had no means to jumpstart my battery. I called Ford local dealership to come check the issue incase it was a recall issue that had not been reported for my vehicle yet. They are scheduled to come Monday 6/1/26.

15 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/23/2026

While driving the car immediately downshifted and I could not accelerate. The hill assist came on and service advance trac came on. This happened 3 times. The first time we towed it to the dealership April 17th, and they changed the oil and tested the battery secured wires and verified after the repair on April 26th. After we picked the truck up on April 26th it stalled on the highway on the home and we had it towed again. They kept it for 4 days drove it 80 miles and said nothing was wrong no repair was done or needed. On may 13 it stalled again in front of train tracks. Luckly I was able to stop and start it quickly to drive it to a near dealership. We picked up the truck today, and it stalled again on the way home. We drove it back to the dealership today, may 23rd, hopefully they can figure it out. We are again without a car for a long period of time. We have paid $1,964. 10 in repairs that have not fixed the problem. The way the truck stops so suddenly is very dangerous as it happened once getting on the highway and once in front of a train track.

16 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

Nhtsa id number: 23v509000 manufacturer Ford motor company components parking brake potential number of units affected: 870701 summary Ford motor company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a single exhaust system. Contact with the rear axle housing may damage the wiring harness, causing the electric parking brake to activate unexpectedly.

17 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/18/2026

While driving about 60 mph on the highway, all warning lights on the dash suddenly came on and the truck immediately lost power/shut down. The wheels sputtered or somethting like that, not sure how to describe it. I was able to safely get off the road and restart the truck. After restarting, it drove normally again with no obvious issues. I recently received a recall notice describing very similar symptoms related to the transmission/lead frame issue, but the notice stated no remedy was yet available. This created a serious safety concern because the failure happened unexpectedly at highway speed. Here is the recall info: issue date 2026-04-14 campaign 26s28/26v237.

18 Electrical System problem of the 2011 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/16/2026

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? “we lost power while driving, along with a weird downshift today, 5/16/2026. This is happen one other time, however not as bad. ” how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? “it could have been way worse, lucky there was a left turn lane that avoided us being rear ended by the vehicle behind us. ” has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? “not for this time, but it will be going in first thing Monday. We did have it looked at back in April when it did a weird downshift while driving, but they couldn’t find an issue then. ” has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? “no, but it will be after this incident. ” were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? “no warning lights, just loss of power and an intense downshift. The first time the downshift thing happened was back in April, but nothing more. We had a mechanic look at it, but nothing happened for him then. ”.

19 Electrical System problem of the 2020 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/15/2026

I was driving and slowing down for a stop sign and the engine shut off by itself while still moving at appx 10-15mph. The display had several warning lights appear, and the message "auto start stop, shift to p, then restart engine". I have the auto start stop disabled on my vehicle, so there was no reason for my engine to shut off while decelerating. I searched online for potential causes and discovered that there are numerous incidents of this happening (engine shutting off while moving) to drivers that have deactivated the auto start stop on their vehicles. See link: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

20 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/13/2026

Between 35 -45 mph transmission seems confused on shifting, sounds like sensor or fluid control issue, also mild periodic vibrations 1-2 sec at random times also 12v to 120 v transformer constantly faults even when low amp device is connected. Both have been previously reported this to service dept but issue seems to be ignored. . .

21 Electrical System problem of the 2011 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/11/2026

My vehicle has abrupt unintended downshifts straight down to first gear at fast speeds, which is causing rear-wheel lockage near heart attack and near-loss of control spinout. The sudden downshifting causes a loud violent high extreme rpm engine over rev. Sounding as if it is about to blow up or an internal explosion. This is occurring at highway speeds up to 70 mph. At these speeds, is an immediate risk to me and others! causing a fatal high-speed rollover or a multi-vehicle collision due to this malfunction! this was a recall 19s07 for my year of truck but my VIN was somehow was not on the list which I guess makes me not qualified unless I get into a crash and then have a lawsuit.

22 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/10/2026

My 2014 Ford F-150 is exhibiting symptoms consistent with the Ford transmission molded lead frame safety recall 24s37. While driving approximately 55 mph late at night on a five-lane roadway, the vehicle suddenly and violently jerked, downshifted and came to a complete stop becoming stalled out as I was approaching a major traffic intersection. The truck was disabled in traffic and would not restart for approximately 2-3 minutes, leaving me stranded in an active travel lane and at risk of being struck from behind by another vehicle at high speed. The vehicle has displayed transmission-related symptoms including inability to correctly indicate gear position, harsh shifting, unexpected downshifts into 1st gear while driving, transmission fault warnings, and check engine lights. Initially it was mostly dying while idling and we thought it was the common "fuse 27" issue, being unaware of the recall. Then the condition reproduced multiple times and symptoms worsened dramatically. Ford dealership inspected the vehicle. According to the technician's written report, the truck was found to be "having transmission problems, unable see what gear the truck is in and shifts to 1st gear while driving" and recommended replacement of the molded lead frame. The dealership confirmed transmission-related diagnostic trouble codes were present and documented symptoms consistent with lead frame failure. Despite the recommendation of the lead frame replacement and documenting symptoms consistent with the safety recall, the repair was not approved. The vehicle continues to experience symptoms associated with the recalled defect and is unsafe to drive away. Dealership confirms software update will not correct problem. I am submitting this complaint as the transmission defect poses a significant safety hazard to me, my children, and other drivers due to unexpected downshifts, loss of power, stalling, and the risk of becoming disabled in traffic. The truck remains available to inspect.

23 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/09/2026

Vehicle: 2017 Ford F-150 2. 7 ecoboost, 6r80 transmission VIN: [xxx] while driving at highway speed (approximately 150 km/h / 93 mph) during an overtaking maneuver and moderate-to-heavy acceleration, the vehicle experienced a sudden harsh transmission event. The transmission abruptly entered limp mode and became stuck in 3rd gear. A wrench warning light appeared with the message “see manual. ” the vehicle immediately lost normal acceleration capability and could only continue driving in reduced-power mode. The malfunction occurred suddenly and without prior warning while traveling at high speed. This created a potentially dangerous traffic situation during highway overtaking. After stopping and restarting the vehicle, the transmission returned to normal operation. Diagnostic scan performed using forscan retrieved dtc code: p0768 – shift solenoid d electrical. The symptoms appear consistent with the currently announced Ford recall involving the 6r80 transmission lead frame / transmission range sensor issue causing unintended harsh downshifts or transmission malfunction. The vehicle is currently located in poland after being imported from the united states, but the VIN is included in the active NHTSA/Ford recall database. No collision occurred, however the sudden transmission malfunction at highway speed created a serious safety concern. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

24 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/08/2026

Took my 2017 Ford F-150 in for a diagnostic on may 8 2026 for wrench symbol check engine light and issues down shifting and sliding tires shop manager and technician claimed the vehicle is unsafe to drive and talked to the service manager deemed the vehicle unsafe to drive wanted it grounded do to the safety concerns related to recall 26s28 (pcm/trs) stated the down shifting is cause catastrophic failure to all mechanical components transmission engine and rear end kidding the tires especially in wet weather the truck would cause a accident. . Cause the sliding of the tires. . So my truck is at apple Ford of lynchburg grounded as of may 9 2026 I still owe on the truck and have no ride dealer nor manufacture was willing to pay for a rental that cost $65 a day wanted me to pay then reimburse me once a remedy was available I cant afford that. . 1600 a month we are roughly 2 months away from hopefully a remedy being available stated by recall website. . So if my truck is showing all the signs of the described in the recall(26s28) has stated in it why is Ford not putting a do not drive on the recall for all these trucks if the technician seems them unsafe. . I shouldn't have to pay for a rental I cant afford cause Ford is lacking a remedy and wont even buy it back cause of safety issues codes po732 inccorect 2nd gear ratio.

26 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/06/2026

I was driving down the road and then smoke started bellowing out of the cupholder area of the center console and it smelled like burnt wires and I could hear it cizzle so I pulled over as quick as I could and ripped out the center console to find that the connectors going to the glow rings on the cupholders had shorted out and were causing a small flame in melting the plastic so I ripped the wiring harness out that fed the power to the cupholders .

28 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/04/2026

Ford has acknowledged the defect (recall 26s28). · my truck experienced the dangerous downshift and wheel lockup. · Ford has no fix available until June 30th, leaving me without a safe vehicle. · Ford is refusing to provide a loaner or rental. The wheel locked on me and causing the vehicle to be uncontrollable, in wet condition. Causes a near fatal accident. I do have a dash camera recording to prove my case.

29 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/03/2026

The truck rapidly accelerated while I was slowly rolling into a parking spot with my foot on the brake. The harder I pushed the brake the more it seemed to accelerate. I luckily avoided hitting anything. I forced the gear shifter out of drive into park. No warning lights or messages. I contacted 3 Ford dealerships and all said they haven’t heard of this nor do they think they could identify this problem if I brought it in.

30 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 04/27/2026

The rear window basically has 3 parts. Driver side, center sliding section, and passenger side. Only the driver side section defrost. According to online forums specifically for Ford trucks, this is a common issue. Ford’s special service message (ssm) 48490 does reference this as a known issue.

31 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 04/27/2026

Brought f150 in for scheduled service - oil change. Also asked for inspection of a problem with the fuel door hatch that was causing "refuel error" messages on the instrument panel and several grinding noises every time the fuel release button was pressed. Note that I have an active extended Ford premiumcare warranty. Dealership diagnosis was that the fuel door solenoid was bad, verified that the gears could be heard grinding with this part. However, there is no separate motor part, therefore the entire fuel door assembly must be replaced. Ford warranty system does not cover this part because it is considered "body and structural". I called Ford protect to discuss this, and explained the motor defect and problem, that this has nothing at all to do with wear & tear or body damage. They explained that in this case, the dealership should call and get the part pre-authorized with the justification. Seelye Ford called and tried to do this on 28 April 2026, but ultimately was still denied by Ford. The attached service report from seelye describes the technician findings and confirms the bad solenoid and audible gear grinding sound coming from the fuel door assembly - and that the entire assembly must be replaced. As this is related to the fuel system and has a defective motor, this is an example a safety defect that should not only be repaired on this vehicle, but for other vehicles with similar problems. Note that the dealership also pointed out that Ford appears to have created this part layout with the intent of having the motor be a separate part, but ultimately did not offer that option, only a full housing replacement, which is excluded because it is mostly made of plastic and metal, which is considered to be structural in nature, despite being a part of the fuel system that has active motor buttons and instrumentation sensors for driver interaction.

33 Electrical System problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 04/24/2026

While driving on a surface road in columbia, MD at approximately 40 mph, the dash display of the 2024 Ford lightning flash went completely blank, leaving no indication of vehicle speed, battery percentage, battery temp, motor temp, cruise control status etc. Zero information was displayed, and the dash was completely cold and dark. This failure, while traveling at speed, represents a gross safety hazard, especially because the same lcd displays automatic emergency braking informaion etc. Immediately, I was able to pull over, and establish an obd-2 connection to the ecm, and pull error logs. I also took screenshots of critical components and voltages. I cleared the codes, re-checked for codes and saved another error log showing a couple of codes. I then cycled power to the truck several times, hoping for a reboot to clear the error. I also performed a manual reset of the Ford sync system. Using the obd-2 virtual dash on my reader, I was able to safely display speed and battery data, and drive immediately to the nearest Ford dealer (koons Ford). On the way, I phoned crossroads Ford (apex, nc) who did a remote error check using the vehicle's modem. The dealer may have saved this data. Upon arrival to koons, service writers and technicians were able to witness and verify inoperability of the dash unit, and cycle the vehicle power, whereafter the problem persisted. They then took it back for service and evaluation. After approximately 4 hours, I was told that the "dash reset itself after a couple hours" and they could not get it to repeat the error after it came back. Before this, there were no warning signs of dash failure, nor since.

On 4-23-2026 driving home from work at approximately 3:55 pm with speed of approximately 40 to 45 mph a very hard hit of something as if I had been struck from the rear and immediately at the same time both of the rear wheels locked up and where skidding on the roadway. This lasted for maybe just under 30 seconds. Fortunately, no one was behind me. The truck did make that hard bump sound again but nothing else occurred. With less than 3 miles from home I was able to drive slowly and get home. I am afraid to drive it anywhere now!.
