1 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/24/2026

This vehicle has been into the Ford dealer multiple times for transmission slipping type issues. From before the 60,000 mile powertrain warranty ended and after. The dealer said the only thing needed was an update and reset. Today a different Ford dealer has informed me that during the transmission flush, there are tiny specks and slivers of metal. The engine issue in regard to cam phaser repair recall/customer service bulletin has been leaking due to issues with proper sealant. The rear camera goes out and screen turns white at times.

4 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/15/2026

The clock spring in the steering has failed causing the airbag to no longer work on the driver side. The cruise control turns on and shuts off on its own. Sometimes won’t even let you set it. Volume controls no longer work. Horn no longer works. Steering has a clicking catching sound now when turning. Steering controls no longer light up and none of the buttons work.

5 Electrical System problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/15/2026

Immediately after starting the truck, I hear a loud popping noise coming from the radio. It sounds like an alarm noise for several seconds. I always turn the volume to 0, but I don't know if that's what shuts off the sound, or if it stops on it's own. The only way to clear the error with the radio, is to change the source from the current setting to a different source. ( fm to am or sirius ). This has happened multiple times. I've had the vehicle serviced by Ford and received ota updates that address this problem. One software update specifically said it addressed radio distortion issues, the other said that it would correct certain sync issues when starting the vehicle.

6 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/14/2026

The vehicle experienced intermittent transmission-related drivability issues before the recall remedy was available. The vehicle had delayed/hard shifting, an intermittent wrench warning light, and a reduced power/limp mode condition where the transmission would not shift normally. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Ford dealer on multiple occasions, including diagnostic visits on 10/09/2023, 05/12/2025, and 02/09/2026. Ford later issued recall 26s28 involving the powertrain control module/transmission control system, and the recall remedy was performed. After the recall repair was completed, the original drivability concern continued, including sluggish shifting and delayed engagement between gears. As a second attempted repair related to the wrench warning light and transmission concern, the dealer identified the possibility of a faulty transmission lead frame and reviewed replacement under the applicable coverage. However, the dealer refused to replace the lead frame because the related fault code was not currently present during their inspection. The intermittent nature of the failure causes the code to clear after the vehicle is restarted, making it difficult to capture during a dealer visit. I provided photographic proof showing the wrench warning light was present after picking up the vehicle on the same day the recall repair was supposedly completed. Despite this evidence and the continued symptoms, the lead frame replacement was not performed. The vehicle has not been involved in a crash, but the intermittent loss of normal transmission operation creates a safety concern, especially during acceleration, merging, or uphill driving. The issue has been reported to Ford and inspected by a Ford dealer. Repair documentation, photos, and service records are available.

7 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/11/2026

I had two very serious incidents. July 8th: horn just started blaring unprompted. Locking/unlocking doors, turning motor on, disconnecting battery did nothing to stop it. I was trying everything and as I was trying to find the correct fuse to disable (it wasn't labeled), the horn burned out and started smoldering. If the car was not in my driveway and I wasn't home, I believe a fire would have started if I didn't pull the fuse and douse it with water. It was parked next to my garage, so that would have been at risk as well. July 11th: when driving, my brake line burst resulting in a complete failure of my brakes. I narrowly escaped two accidents before I realized something was amiss. But the only warning was abs was inactive, and active cruise control wasn't working. I had no warning that complete brake failure was imminent. I was extremely lucky. Mechanics had never seen a brake failure fail in a relatively new car in very good condition.

8 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/06/2026

My 6 speed transmition started shifting erratically. I took it to Ford dealership and they did a pcm software download recall and it didnt help. The technition said he drove it and put on the wokorder. No codes stored issue not in leadframe. 1no codes stored to replace leadframe. Transmition not shifting properly, most likely cause is internal clutch burnt. I asked what my next thing to do was and she said they would only change the transmition at my cost. This truck is shiftng in 5th and keeps shifting ranomly without showing on the gear panel. It does the same in 6th gear. Between 4th and 5th it shifts real hard. All the symtoms of the lead frame recall and they said they wont touch it unless I put a new transmition in.

15 Electrical System problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/23/2026

Almost all functions connected to the steering column quit working. I do not have working turn signals, high beams or wipers, unless the wipers are on high. None of the functions on the steering wheel work. It seems like a safety issue to not have functioning turn signals or properly finctioning wipers and high beams. No lamps or warnings.

16 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/23/2026

Hello, I recently brought my 2014 Ford F-150 (VIN: [xxx]) to the dealership regarding recall 24s37. The vehicle experienced the following symptoms: • check engine light illuminated. • wrench light illuminated. • intermittent loss of power. • abnormal transmission behavior. • intermittent no-start condition. • vehicle would only start after moving the gear selector. The dealership informed me that no physical repairs would be performed because the diagnostic trouble codes retrieved were different from those associated with recall 24s37. However, the vehicle continues to exhibit transmission-related symptoms, and I am concerned that the underlying condition may be related to or aggravated by the conditions addressed in recall 24s37. I am requesting that Ford review this case and determine whether additional diagnostic evaluation or repairs should be considered. However, they refuse to accept that the codes have anything to do with the recall, even though it is the same part and the affected sensor that is triggering the error codes on the scanner. They are asking me to pay for the transmission repair because the codes are not the ones approved for the recall, but based on the signs and symptoms the truck is showing, it is a chain reaction that triggered the previously mentioned failures. Thank you information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

17 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/19/2026

I think that Ford needs to a recall on these 10r80 transmissions, I was driving a week ago and suddenly I went to limp mode. Went to gear one now transmission is hesitating.

18 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/17/2026

My 2013 Ford F-150 (VIN: [xxx]) suffered a catastrophic rear-wheel lockup while traveling at highway speeds, mimicking a sudden, unprompted hard braking event. The vehicle's speedometer dropped to zero and the dashboard went blank. A certified Ford dealership has just scanned the vehicle and pulled diagnostic trouble code (dtc) p0722, confirming an output shaft speed sensor/molded leadframe failure under Ford TSB 16-0008. Federal records confirm there are 0 unrepaired recalls on this VIN because safety recall 19s07 (NHTSA campaign 19v-075) was completed two months ago. The software-only recall remedy completely failed to prevent this life-threatening transmission lockup. Ford corporate (case #[xxx]) and the dealership are refusing to replace the defective hardware due to mileage, despite the fact that a federally mandated safety recall remedy failed to secure the vehicle. "safety recall 19s07 was completed by an authorized Ford dealer two months ago, but following today's highway lockup incident, a different, separate Ford dealership officially scanned the vehicle and retrieved diagnostic trouble code (dtc) p0722, confirming a complete recall remedy failure. " information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

19 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/16/2026

My 2016 Ford F-150 (VIN [xxx]) experienced an intermittent failure involving the transmission range sensor system. While driving, the vehicle displayed a check engine light and a “see service manual” message. The truck became noticeably underpowered. When shifted into reverse, the transmission engaged harshly and the prndl (gear position indicator) disappeared from the instrument cluster. The backup camera also became inoperative. After shutting the vehicle off, it would not restart. Electrical accessories and the instrument cluster remained functional, but the engine would not crank. After sitting for a period of time, the vehicle eventually restarted and the prndl display returned. The same failure occurred on three separate occasions within approximately 24 hours, including while arriving at a Ford dealership for service. The failure creates a safety concern because the vehicle can unexpectedly become unable to start, loses indication of the selected gear, and may experience transmission-related issues while being operated. The vehicle is currently unreliable for transportation and could leave occupants stranded. An independent repair facility scanned the vehicle and documented dtcs p0706 (transmission range sensor a circuit range/performance), p0707 (transmission range sensor a circuit low), p1702 (transmission range sensor circuit intermittent), and p1921 (transmission range signal). The vehicle is included in Ford safety recall 26s28 involving 2015-2017 F-150 vehicles equipped with the 6r80 transmission. A Ford dealership inspected the vehicle and advised that the concern appears related to the transmission range sensor/lead frame issue associated with the pending recall. However, the dealership advised that a repair cannot currently be submitted because the recall remedy has not yet been activated. The vehicle had approximately 124,000 miles at the time of failure. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

20 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/16/2026

Horn stopped working. Took to dealer they diagnosed horn pin from bcm to bjb has pulled from wire. Said part to fix has 90 people waiting and indefinite wait time. Or can replace entire wire harness for $1700. After reading on Ford forum learned this is common problem for truck. In nc horn is mandatory to pass inspection . This is definitely a safety issue.

23 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/12/2026

Turn signal stalk binds up intermittently, requiring excessive force to deactivate signaling. Most commonly occurs after signaling to toward the right. This has been occurring intermittently shortly after vehicle purchase, but has become more common over the past year. Safety is affected due to the amount of force being required having the potential to cause the driver to inadvertently jerk the steering wheel left while attempting to deactivate the signal. No inspections have been performed and this vehicle has not yet been assessed by a dealer or independent service center. No warnings or other associated indicators of this issue have been noted.

Truck does not shift the gears when in drive but will in manual mode. No communication to the transfer case. Wrench light on.

25 Electrical System problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/12/2026

2024 Ford f150 tremor 14,000 miles the gearshift modual locks into position and locks the transmission (light blinking and transmission light shows on dashboard) you cannot shift to park or start the car, it will do this in drive or reverse and locks the transmission. A hard reset does not solve the issue. The first time this happened l was with my wife and two young children in the mountains around 30miles from cell service. This is a major safety issue. The dealership cannot replicate it, and therefore wont replace it even though it is a known issue. TSB 26-2066 I do have a video of this happening. Fortunately the second time this happened I was close to home. The vehicle occasionally leaves us stranded due to an un-replicated transmission lock flaw.

26 Electrical System problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/11/2026

While traveling at cruising speed (70 mph) on interstate 95 south, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic electrical and mechanical failure, resulting in an immediate engine stall. The vehicle lost all propulsion. Due to the sudden loss of power, the vehicle could not safely clear the active lanes of traffic, coasting to a stop near an exit ramp and dangerously blocking highway traffic. Upon attempting to restart the vehicle to move it out of harm's way, the vehicle emitted a rapid clicking noise and again stalled out. Because this vehicle utilizes an electronic shift-by-wire system, the total power failure permanently locked the transmission into "park. " the vehicle could not be shifted into "neutral" or "drive" to be pushed safely off the road. This total vehicle failure created an immediate, life-threatening hazard for the occupants and surrounding motorists on a high-speed interstate, requiring emergency police intervention to manage traffic until a flatbed tow truck arrived.

27 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/10/2026

My 2021 Ford F-150 intermittently displays the warning message “reverse brake assist not available – see manual” when the vehicle is placed in reverse. When this message appears, the reverse brake assist / parking collision warning feature is not available, which may reduce safety while backing up. The vehicle was inspected by a Ford dealership. The dealership confirmed dtc u3000:49 in the ipma module and identified Ford TSB 23-2040 as applicable to the concern. The dealer stated that the repair requires an ipma software/module update and calibration. The quoted repair cost was approximately $1,100. This appears to be a software/programming-related condition affecting a driver assistance and brake-related safety feature, not normal wear and tear or a failed mechanical component. The warning is intermittent, but it has appeared multiple times. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. No crash, injury, or fire has occurred. Ford customer support was contacted and case number xxx was opened. Ford advised that no active warranty, recall, or customer satisfaction program currently provides repair cost coverage, and that because this involves reverse brake assist, I may choose to file a safety concern report with NHTSA.

28 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/09/2026

I was on the highway and my truck suddenly decreased speed rapidly. Luckily I was able to pull onto a side road and get to safety but it was extremely dangerous and scary situation. The dealer has confirmed the symptoms fit the issue with the recall. Since Ford does not have a fix for this solution yet until July 1 my vehicle is unable to be driven or repaired leaving me stranded without a vehicle. However, this is a very concerning safety issue and my family could have been severely impacted traveling on the highway.

29 Electrical System problem of the 2011 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/08/2026

I am having a lead frame issue. At various speeds, the vehicle will just down shift, locking the tires and causing a hazard for other drivers which could be a very dangerous situation. I was impacted from the rear due to this occurrence. It causes extreme jerkiness when doing this which is also injurious to my back and neck and shoulders.

30 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/07/2026

My 2015 Ford F-150 experienced a sudden, dangerous loss of throttle power while driving, forcing an emergency stop on the side of the road. The vehicle is now locked in a hard electronic no-start/no-crank condition. We diagnosed the vehicle and pulled active, stored trouble codes p0706 and p0707 for the transmission range sensor (trs). This failure matches the exact defect described in NHTSA campaign 26v237 / Ford recall 26s28. However, Ford corporate and the local dealership (washington Ford in PA) are actively refusing to provide an emergency diagnostic scan, towing, or physical parts replacement, claiming they will not honor the remedy until June 30th. This has left a hazardous, disabled vehicle stranded on my property. They have acknowledged this meets the criteria of the safety recall but want me to pay for the towing of the disabled vehicle, diagnostics, and repair upfront including the lead frame which the recall notice specifically states should be replaced because the codes were thrown before reprogramming.

31 Electrical System problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/05/2026

33 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/01/2026

The vehicle lost power rolling from a stop sign, felt like it was trying to shift but wouldn’t then went into limp mode, drove fine the next day. The faulty lead frame is failing, it has no other cause. I refuse to drive and put myself and others in danger to prove it. The dealer said they couldn’t cover it because the code is not covered in the recall, they recommended a new valve body or transmission, they didn't even say why. They were able to recreate it wrench light. P2704 is the code they claimed with the 2 leading causes are valve body, they said my fluid was clean and the vehicle has up to date service with no previous sign of wear, or the lead frame going out, the actively recalled part. I tried contacting Ford directly and they refused assistance beyond “tow it to a different dealer” and then ended the conversation. It is a safety issue that I will not wait to have break if there is clear signs of it happening.

34 Electrical System problem of the 2020 Ford F-150

35 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/01/2026

My vehicle is currently subject to an open Ford transmission safety recall for which no repair remedy is available at this time. The vehicle is experiencing a recurring and dangerous failure while driving. Approximately twice per day, during my normal commute, all vehicle electronics suddenly shut off while the vehicle is in motion. At the same time, the wheels appear to lock up, causing a sudden loss of vehicle control and creating a significant crash risk. When the failure occurs, I am forced to immediately shift the transmission into neutral while the vehicle is still moving. After approximately 5 to 10 seconds, I can shift back into drive and continue operating the vehicle. However, vehicle electronics often remain inoperative for the remainder of the trip. This condition is occurring repeatedly and has become more frequent. The issue currently occurs approximately once during my drive to work and once during my drive home. My commute is approximately 20 minutes each way. The vehicle has not yet been involved in a crash, but I believe a crash is likely if this condition continues. The sudden loss of power, loss of electronics, and wheel lockup while driving creates an immediate safety hazard to myself, my passengers, and other motorists. I am submitting this complaint because the vehicle is subject to an active safety recall, the condition appears related to the recall, and no repair remedy is currently available. I believe the vehicle is unsafe to operate.
