The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds over a bumpy road surface, the front driver's seat lumbar support was significantly loosened and failed to restrain the contact as needed. Additionally, the lumbar support made abnormal cracking sounds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the lumbar support frame was replaced, and padding was added 3 times. Additionally, the independent mechanic added a steel plate for additional support; however, the failure persisted. The contact also stated that the independent mechanic had informed him that he had previously ordered the lumbar support frame; however, the part arrived fractured, causing him to make another order. The contact stated that the lumbar support frame welding was significantly thin, which caused the failure to recur. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 16v475000 (seats) however, the VIN was not included. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact they could not assist because the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

While I am driving with my pregnant wife in the vehicle the airbag light will illuminate saying that the airbag is off, I have to pull over while driving to have her get out of the vehicle and get back in for the light to turn off. It's a normal street in a development or on the road driving. Different speeds with flat roads, some have bumps others are recently paved asphalt. Happens intermittently, over a dozen times at different speeds. My vehicles VIN doesn't fit the recall for the airbag issue that is already aware by Ford. Took vehicle to Ford dealership 4 times for this same issue, only thong done was a recalibration of the seat weight and exactly 2 weeks and 1 day later light came on again, unable to pull over I drove hoping to find a way to pull over for the safety of my wife and unborn child, the light turned off after 40 seconds of realizing it was on. A fully grown individual sitting in the seat weight 190+lbs has this happening to them. I have video footage and will try to attach it if possible. Most recently it happened today, 2/19/20 at 3:17pm.

The transmission will twist the driveshaft at startup, stationary, and cause the rear end to pop very loudly. I've shown Ford engineering a video of it, I was told that it was normal. I've never heard of a vehicle doing this before. There is a rattling sound on deceleration, loudest when the engine is cold and lessons or maybe even goes away after warmed up. The engine was replaced earlier this year because of an oil consumption issue. The truck has memory power driver's seat and power mirrors that should go into place depending on the key fob that it detects. Randomly both side mirrors will start moving and popping before going back into position. This always occurs before the vehicle is started. I've noticed that it is usually when it detects the key fob or when I use the fob for some function. The seat randomly doesn't go into the memory position at startup.

While driving at variable speeds, low and high, the passenger airbag off light comes on while an adult passenger is occupying the passenger front seat. Took to Ford dealership 4 times but because the VIN does not match a recall had to pay 4 different diagnostic fees. Have videos as proof, does dealership said can’t recreate issue even with video proof and did nothing to help. Opened 2 cases with Ford corporate and nothing was done about it. Took vehicle in again and was adamant about this being a recall regardless of VIN matches or not, dealership adjusted weight sensor and told me this would be it and they would not address this issue or my truck anymore, even though I had told them that my wife is the only passenger and she is pregnant carrying our child. Airbag light indicator illuminates stating the passenger light is off when an adult passenger is in the front passenger seat, has happened at multiple speed from 1 mph up to 50 mph. Could result in an injury or fatality if accident were to occur. Tried to upload the video but NHTSA only allows photos to upload can’t upload the video.
The truck driver heated seat wires overheated and began to catch fire. The wires melted and caused the excessive heat to catch the foam and fabric to burn. The heated seats were not turned on at the time.

1. Engine doesn't run smooth at highway speed. . 2. Powertrain, transmission - received a recall 19v-075 for software update notice 6/25/2019. Took the f150 to gateway Ford dealership for the update. The next time tried to accelerate (8/16/19) the transmission shifter irradicably the dash icons flashed and the pickup stalled as to be in low gear, I shut off the ignition after pulling to the side of the road, restarted it after a bit and continued on my way. This has happened again, not sure of dates. As I was traveling out of south dakota I contacted gateway, they said to take the pickup to another Ford dealership and they would fix it. Took it to auto nation Ford in corpus christi, TX. They wouldn't fix it . They said the update wad already done. The pickup drove and worked good prior to the recall update and now it will shift radically and dash icon flashing when accelerating rapidly. In addition the drivers seat is wearing out. It should rear better than that. The pickup only has 90,178 miles on it and should last me longer than that. One more issue. The positive battery post continually corrodes. I've cleaned it many times and still corrodes. Please have someone address these issues on my f150. I think there should be no cost to me per your advertising on tv. Thank you gary hartman ghart41@hotmail. Com 605-222-7560.

We got into an accident over the weekend. We were t-bones by a bus. It wrecked the passenger side of the car. However, when I went into the passenger side to get my purse out I noticed that there were flames coming from the side of the drivers seat. Our f150 is now burnt to a crisp. There's no reason for that truck to have caught fire like that.
I am writing because I had the 3 recalls on my vehicle repaired 3 years ago but the dealership apparently may not have completed these because I just received a letter from Ford stating a quality audit discovered it may not have been done. Your website states they are incomplete which is beyond frustrating. I had to go through a lot just to get the dealership to work with me to give me a loaner car in order to get them done. Now I may have been driving around for 3 years in a vehicle I thought was fixed which could still injure me.
The drivers seat has a lot of popping and moving when slowing down or accelerating. Truck only had 20,040 miles on it when I bought it. It has been a issue from the day it was purchased. Feels like the seat may just completely break at any moment.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 17v767000 (seats) and 17v652000 (latches/locks/linkages). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Lafayette Ford Lincoln (5202 raeford rd, fayetteville, nc 28304, (910) 613-6272) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Have already contacted your organization (11129828) but need to add some new information I have discovered. This truck was involved in a side swipe accident on 9-16-2018. All airbags were deployed. About 5-10 minutes after the wreck the inside of the truck was on fire. The fire department was called and put the fire out. At that time the fireman stated they felt the airbag on the drivers side had started the fire. Upon looking at the truck yesterday, I could see that it was really the seat back of the drivers seat that burned the most. At the time of the fire, the truck was not running and was still sitting in the spot it came to rest in after the accident.
Driver seat make loud noise when turn on massage system . Not repair yeat .
Tl the contact owned a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while at a stop sign, another vehicle fishtailed and crashed into the rear half of the driver's side of the contact's vehicle causing the vehicle to turn 90 degrees. All the side air bags only deployed. The contact stated that within minutes the other driver noticed fire inside the contact's vehicle. The contact stated that the fire was at the rear base left of the driver's seat. The contact stated that within a couple of minutes the wind caused the entire vehicle to become engulfed in flames. The fire department was called and extinguished the fire. A police department and fire department reports were filed. There were no injuries. The contact called the velde Ford (888-221-2804, 2200 n 8th st, pekin, IL 61554) and reported the failure but the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000. Fe.

I have 2018 Ford f150 raptor edition and have had nothing but issues with it since purchasing the vehicle in November of 2017 brand new. Currently the engine is blown and it has been in and out of service for over 118 days since purchase. I was driving on the expressway, first day after getting truck back from 28 day service and the engine oil pressure light came on again which is why it was in service. I called the dealer and Ford and they advised to keep driving until they heard back from the Ford hotline. A week or so later it was broke down smoking on the side of the highway. In addition there have been numerous other problems.

Someone stopped short in front of me. I applied the brakes but could not avoid hitting car. The brake indicator on front control display said my brakes are ok. Once I crashed the seat belt engaged but I still hit the steering wheel with my chest. The airbags did not deploy! there was some heavy smoke though around the seat belt area or from perhaps the electrical connections under the seat?.

Airbag lights for driver and passenger sides randomly come on while driving at various speeds. Driver and passenger side seat belts are randomly locking driving at various speeds. Engine code for faulty seat belt tensioner sensor for passenger side.
Front seat backs get extremely hot after running the cooling feature for an extended amount of time. It appears to be a result of poor exhaust plumbing from the heat exchange system. When the system creates cool air for the seat it also creates a stream of heated air, this heated air is dumped into the rear of the seat back and accumulates getting hotter and hotter. This results in poor efficiency of the system. The driver's back starts to be heated rather than cooled which may be a safety hazard if it results in the driver's lack of concentration. The system may overheat if left on too long (I never left it on long enough to test). Also, if long items are kept in the pocket along the back of the seat, they may get hot enough to cause injury to someone who touches them.
I have cooled front leather seats. When turned on, the seat backs become very hot instead of being cooled. This has been reported on a number of websites by quite a few people and Ford has issued a service bulletin. . Read more...
Driver side front seat feels as if it moves from side to side as the vehicle corners. It feels as if a part is loose in the horizontal portion of the seat. This started occurring a few months after purchase (Dec. 2015).
In some affected Ford vehicles with climate controlled seats it is found that excessive temperatures in excess of 132 degrees f can be reached on the rear of the front seats. This area is just above the magazine pocket which causes an increase risk of contact with the high temperatures. Children often store books in the magazine pocket and come in contact with the leather upholstery that is at an elevated temperature. If metal objects, such as toys, are stored in the seat pocket they can have heat transfer from this unit causing the toys to be hot to the touch causing the potential for burns. My children have touched this area of the seat in the past and complained about the seat being hot. They also have at times grabbed a toy out of the seat pocket and immediately dropped the die-cast toy due to it being hot. Know affected vehicles include late 2015+ Ford f150, Ford explorer, Ford mustang, and other models with the same seat climate control system. Ford released a TSB 15-0154 to add an additional intake sock to the climate controlled seats. This repair has not successfully mitigated the safety risk to children being exposed to the hot temperatures.
20,484 miles on truck. 10/18/15 rpm's increase but doesnt shift into next gear. 10/19/15 roadside assistance towed to dealer. Dealer found no code, sent back to me. 11/17&11/22 driver seat lost memory. 11/28/15 rpm reved when brake was applied rpm's were still increasing. 12/2 brought to dealer no code on diagnosis, sent out again without troubleshooting 20,900 miles on truck. 12/8/15 rpm's reved didnt go into gear. 12/8/15 1hr after prior failure, tried to leave driveway and 2 attempts to engage drive it wouldnt move put truck in reverse then proceeded to put in drive, stuck in 1st gear for 2 blks. 12/10/15 my 5yr old granddaughter and I drove 4 blocks before truck shifted to 2nd gear. 12/11/15 truck did not seem to be running right heard a clunk upon leaving prk lot got across 4 lanes of traffic and truck failed to shift, wrench on dashed showed and went away, dash info had lines across instead of mpg and air bag light stayed on, dealer was on my way, this time code showed and was the torque converter. I ended up driving this vehicle 500 miles iwith the torque converter failing here and there until a code showed. This caused a very dangerous condition to all on the road and much unneeded stress. I am very concerned what other components have premature wear due to continuing to drive my truck in this condition. I purchased an extended vsc from dealer but unsure what it covers so Ford will not offer extended warrenty, only offering oil changes. I do not want anyone to go through this same dangerous situation. Please act on this before deaths start occuring. After reading up on the torque converter, the symtoms my truck experienced were exact along with the truck increasing rpm's although brake was applied. Instinct is you dont continue driving a vechile that doesnt shift even due to likelyhood of other components failing and dangerous conditions in traffic.
I have been having an ongoing issue with my transmission, where it shifts rough or does not shift appropriately. When the truck shifts rough, I barely have my foot on the accelerator, where it will slam into gear causing the truck to jolt. I also have been experiencing the truck failing to downshift out of 4th gear while going uphills. While going uphills, the rpms will go below 1000, where the truck will begin to shutter as if it is going to stall. You are forced to press the accelerator in order for it to shift, where the rpms/turbo booster will soar. I have had the truck at the dealership for this concern, where they performed a software update and it did not fix the issue. I feel the transmission shifting rough could cause an accident, if the engine in fact stalls and you lose control of the vehicle. I also feel being forced to accelerate could cause you to strike the vehicle in front of you or lose control it this occurs while negotiating a turn etc. The panoramic sunroof allows water to pass the rubber seal and drain into the water track. I frequently have had the windows fog up from moisture inside the passenger compartment and the odor of mold. If you google "2015 Ford F-150 sunroof leaks", you will find 1000's of concerned Ford owners on forums experiencing the same issues, where Ford states it is normal for the sunroof to leak past the seal. I feel the sunroof is a health concern, as I believe mold may be growing in the truck and is being breathed in. I have been experiencing the seat back getting extremely hot while using the "cooled seat" feature. I feel this could cause a burn or fire hazard.
My 2015 lariat has heated/cooled leather front seats. When using the seat cooling function I noticed the seat bottom would cool but the seat back seemed to get warm. At first I thought it was my imagination. Attempted to use it on Friday and about 30 minutes later my back was hot. I pulled over, felt the seat back with my palm, then my cheek and it was hot to the touch.
Front seat back cooling system (ted) is malfunctioning. When seat cooling is selected, after 30 minuets, the back of the front seats reach extreme temperatures, resulting in burning everyone that touches the back of the front seats. I've measure the temperatures, at the top of the map pocket, at over 115 degrees, when ambient temperatures were at 75 degrees. . Read more...
The cooled seat function on the 2015 is a very poor design and it causes extreme heat to the back of the seat while the bottom of the seat somewhat cools. I feel this is a fire danger to anything in the seat back pocket.
