38 Wheel problem of the 2018 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/12/2024

Lug nuts on all wheels have become misshaped making them a risk for fall off and/or unable to remove wheels without the aide of an impact wrench at a shop. This would prevent the owner from changing a tire on the road if needed. Also a safety concern with driving should the lug fall off.

39 Wheel problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/28/2024

F150 lug nuts have a cap that is prone to "swelling" after many tire rotations, especially if mechanic uses a pneumatic wrench with poor sockets. "swollen lug nuts" make them extremely difficult to remove to change tires. Fortunately, I caught this in time on my truck and with much difficulty, replaced them with better lug nuts. If I had a flat tire with swollen lug nuts, I would probably would now have the right tools to remove the tire causing a possible safety hazard on the road.

40 Wheel problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/25/2024

The wheel wells on the front of my vehicle do not properly fit the well. One has been replaced twice the other once and recently the dealer made the decision to cut the wheel wells so they would no longer rub. I was told it was the best they could do. The other choice is to keep replacing them when they fail. I am concerned that somthing from the road may fly up in their and get lodged in the exposed under section. I feel there should be another alternative but Ford doesn't want to pay to get a resolution. If those well covers were not needed they wouldn't have them n their in the 1st place. So I know they are needed.

Tire pressure sensor keeps coming on and says it is faulty. The driver side window will not completely roll down( we have done a reset and it will only work once or twice). With the radio it will sometimes not work(we have done a soft reset and it will work a few times and then stop). The last thing the heat shield that is underneath the truck had a recall we got it repaired and since it hangs down, we have taken to the dealership and they repaired it again and will still hand down.

Needs to be a solid lugnut to replace those that have the metal skin covering the lugnut. Thanks.

47 Wheel problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/10/2024

Nhtsa states to file a complaint if there has been no remedy in reference to a safety recall in a timely manner. As of to date there is still an open recall on my truck and Ford has stated the recall is incomplete due to no remedy yet available. This recall has been in place since 12/22/23. My truck did have a broken hub bolt and I believe the dealership replaced the passenger rear axle hub. The dealership told me that this is only a temporary repair until Ford comes up with a remedy.

48 Wheel problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/05/2024

We have been stranded twice for the recall issued in late January 2024, for the rear axle. The truck is currently at the 5th dealership since january2024. The truck is not driveable and Ford still does not have a way to fix the issue. We are having the axle replaced for the second time by a Ford dealership, with no assurance that they have determined how to solve the problem. We picked the truck up from the last axle repair on 2-21-24. We had a rear wheel sensor issue on 3-6-24, after driving less than 1000 miles. On 3-28-24, the axle defect occurred again. The truck was towed again. The Ford website says they do not yet have a solution, yet their certified mechanics continue to “fix” the issue.

Failure Date: 01/31/2024

Recall # 23v896 was sent to me on January 2024 and 14 months later still no parts available for the repair. Risk are the vehicle may roll in park and lose power while driving. Iwe four wheel drive system is engaging while driving the vehicle. Rough shaking in the front end of vehicle and grinding noise while driving. Ford has acknowledged there is a defect but the truck is operating normally and they are trying to fix the issue. Initially I was told it was unsafe to drive , but now that they do not know how to fix the issues they told me to just drive it until it completely breaks down. This is very unsafe. The vehicle is a 2023 f150 with 6,000 miles.

54 Wheel problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 12/30/2023

Broken bolt in passenger side rear axel. While pulling off the tire the bolt fell to the ground. It is evident it had been broken for quite some time. I think it prevents lateral movement of the axel.

59 Wheel problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 11/29/2023

On November 29, 2023 I took my 2021 f150 to larry miller Ford for servicing and repairs related to recalls 22s71 and 23s35. When the tech was rotating the wheels he discovered that the axle shaft bolts were sheered off on both the left and right rear wheels. The service manager called to tell me that this was a serious safety issue and that only the brake rotors were preventing the wheels from falling off the truck. The service manager told me there was a "customer satisfaction program 22b34" issued by Ford, but no Ford recall relating to the problem. Larry miller Ford has replaced both axles and axle bolts. I am waiting to find out if there is damage to the rotors, calipers or brake pads, a concern since the sheered off bolts were rattling around within that area since breaking off apparently between service visits. I strongly believe Ford should be required to issue a recall on this problem. I never received a notification on csp 22b34. Had it not been for my tire rotation, the wheels could have fallen off at highway speed.

60 Wheel problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 11/09/2023

Tire monitoring system malfunctions after 30ish minutes of driving. Seems the issue is interference from the on board power generator referred to by Ford as “pro power onboard”. After the tire monitoring system turns on, immediately turning off the pro power generator the tire monitoring system returns to normal. After researching this issue it’s very common and has been on going through multiple years with no fix.

61 Wheel problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 11/08/2023

In cold temperatures the vacuum system that keeps 4x4 disengaged seems to be failing. There is a loud grinding noise with vibrations when driving any speed. It will go away after you engage 4 wheel drive. I feel this is unsafe and worry with winter coming soon the hubs may lock up causing a head on collision or cause vehicle to go in the ditch. I’ve had this issue since I first bought the pickup brand new in late October of 2023. In above freezing temperatures the grinding and vibration does not happen. No light warning indications when this will happen either. I have called the dealer and made a case number, they say engineering is looking into it. They tried replacing the iwes and it didn’t make a difference. I’ve done a lot of research online and many people all over in colder climates are experiencing the same thing.

62 Wheel problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

63 Wheel problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 11/02/2023

64 Wheel problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

Eiwe (electronic integrated wheel end) failure or malfunction. Ford has multiple field service engineers aware of the issue with no fix found. Multiple vehicles not only at one dealership but across the country have confirmed issues. Ford customer relations is aware and has an open case with me and many other owners. 66 Wheel problem of the 2016 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 10/10/2023

The lug nuts on all four wheels needed to be replaced because of swelling. This was determined by evergreen Ford when I brought the truck in for oil change and tire rotation, etc. If this was not found it could have been a huge safety risk for the occupants in the truck and for others. A wheel very likely could have come off causing sever injury or death. If evergreen Ford did not notice the problem I could heave been driving with faulty lug nuts. I did replace all the lug nuts at the Ford dealership. I am very surprised that Ford motor company did not issue a recall on this hazardous condition sooner, that knowing very well for several years, that this issue existed. I spent $82. 32 + tax that Ford should have taken care of thru a recall. Most importantly I hope that no one gets injured or dies because of the faulty part which Ford motor should have taken care of a long time ago.

67 Wheel problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 10/08/2023

On Sunday, October 8th 2023, my wife and I were returning home on a remote stretch of us highway 24, 15 miles east of buena vista, colorado, when we got a flat rear passenger tire. I pulled over at a safe location to change the tire. While attempting to remove the flat tire, I was unable to get the factory supplied lug wrench on any of the 6 lug nuts. Because of the remote location we had very limited cell service and were having challenges contacting a towing service. I eventually found a rock and was able to pound the lug wrench socket onto several of the lug nuts and managed to remove 4 of 6 lug nuts. The final 2 nuts became stripped and I could not remove them. Meanwhile, my wife contacted a tow service and 3 hours later, they arrived. The tow truck drive used a large hammer to pound a 7/8" socket onto the remaining nuts and used an impact wrench to remove them and then to put all the lug nuts back on. He informed me this is a common issue with my year and make of truck and they are called "swollen lug nuts. " I was very surprised that this was a known issue and there was not a recall issued to replace defective parts. It is extremely irresponsible to not notify owners of this issue, especially when I was sold a 4x4 wheel drive, off road vehicle and live in a state (colorado) where cell service can be limited to non-existent. This issue could easily lead to death by not being able to replace a flat tire.

68 Wheel problem of the 2013 Ford F-150

I had to pay $68. 71 to replace swollen lug nuts.

69 Wheel problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

My truck has the maximun payload axle upgrade. The axle bolts on the end of the shaft have broken. I first notice squealing sound of metal from rear of truck. I searched on line for the symptom and found the problem. I then removed passenger rear wheel to verify broken bolt. I took my truck for service to morries grand ledge Ford in michigan. They verified the problem, told me it was not safe to drive and have ordered parts. They also informed me that the defective axle is not covered by recall on my vehicle. The service representative did confirm that there are recalls for the same axle but not my vehicle.
