I purchase August 1, 2007 a 2007 Ford pu f 150 from champion Ford. My
contact person there is champion ray musgrove, 713-3714010;
mustgrover@autonation. Com has windshield labeled: carlite: solar tint:
laminated as1: sa d: dwd 0529 gty. Glare, or mirroring on inside windshield
revealing image of entire dash board. My dashboard dark in color, but it
joint prominent. Dash has square box in center line. Any object placed there
distorts, or block my view to especially right. It is unsafe condition. Observation: the small Ford pick up does not have this condition. Only
slight near front lower part of glass reflecting venting outlets. Slope is
not as steep as f 150. I owner f 150 2000 that did not have this glare. The
2007 slope appears to be greater than 2000 models. Right rear view outside
mirror does not have carlite identification. However, this right mirror not
same as left. View in right mirror distorts view so cars on right and rear
way off in distance when the cars are actually about rear of vehicle. I want
same glass in right rearview mirror as in left rearview mirror. This is
unsafe matter to me that requires me to obtain new glass for that right
distorted view mirror.

The contact owns a 2002 Ford f150. The contact stated that the windshield was loose and water was in the vehicle whenever it rained. The water would short out the electrical boxes in the vehicle which had to replaced at his own expense. He took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the seal on the windshield caused the defect to occur. The dealer told him that even if he replaced the seal it would not guarantee that it would stop the leak. The manufacturer didn't offer the contact any assistance with the repair cost. The current mileage was approximately 130,000. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

Original windshield seal began leaking water inside cab and into dash compartment resulting in electrical failure. The leak originated in the driver side valley on top of the cab of the truck. The valleys allow water to flow directly to and pool up at the windshield when vehicle is parked. I remedied this by caulking the area to prevent further water damage.
: the contact stated the entire front windshield glass slipped out of place without any prior warning. Although the windshield glass became dislodged from the molding, the glass did not crack or break. The glass rested between the hood slit and the glass molding. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The service department contacted a glass company in reference to the issue. The glass company inspected the vehicle and reinstalled the windshield glass with new glue around the windshield molding. Updated 3/17/2006 -.

We bought a used F-150 and had it checked out and it had no problems for a year. After a heavy rain, the alarm went off and on, lights flashed, door chime went off when the key was out of the ignition, etc. Hayward Ford in CA looked at it and said they had no idea what the problem was and since our extended warranty "just ran out," they wanted to charge us $150 to diagnose the problem. I said forget that and took it to a reputable auto electrical place. They diagnosed the problem and told us that it was indeed a leaky windshield causing the problem. They even gave us the paper that Ford puts out telling mechanics what to do in the event of the leaky windshield (basically to seal the windshield with butyl sealant). I called Ford back and they suddenly acknowledged the problem, but said that isn't a recall problem even though there are about 20 different makes/models of Fords having this exact problem. We would have to pay for it out of pocket and if the gem was harmed, we would have to pay to have it fixed too (at a tune of $1600). I called Ford directly and after getting the run around, a supervisor finally told me that there is nothing that they are willing or will do to help us out. They acknowledge it is a problem, but that there aren't enough people that have come forward to complain (yet) and there isn't a recall (yet). So, they aren't willing to do anything. I am so mad I can't see straight. I have written a complaint letter. My truck is just sitting in the driveway (tarped up to prevent rain from getting on the gem) with the battery pulled (otherwise it gets drained). So, we either pay to have it fixed or continue to watch the truck rot in the driveway. I'm seriously considering a class action suit. Anyone else with this problem?.
2004 expedition eddie bauer with 45k miles windshield bubbled making viewing difficult and driving dangerous. This started small and then went on to involve most of the windshield in little over a week. Dealer replaced windshield for $150. 00. Windshield definitely defective and dangerous needs reporting.
Water leaks through left side of windshield causing fuse box to short out, windshield wipers and radio stop working, very dangerous. Ford is aware this is a common problem but refuses to fix.
Windshield leak on the left side shorted out the fuse box.
After hearing an annoying whistle and/or wind sound in our 2003 Ford f150 super crew fx4 truck found that the windshield was not attached to the upper part of the car (we could see daylilght). We took it to a body shop the next day where they discovered that the windshield was not attached by any sealant, it was being held in by the molding only. A auto glass company was called and they discovered that the poly that is suppose to be on the windshield was on the rubber molding.
Water infiltration around the windshield causing the electrical system to malfunction. When it rained water leaked into the vehicle around the windshield and soaked the interior panel which holds the fuses. The fuse panel also rusted. The owner was not sure about other damage. This has been a problem for about 6 months. The owner took the vehicle to the dealership and to a glass company. The dealership had not experienced that problem before. Owner made his own temporary patch from silicone. The patch worked. Owner called Ford and filed a complaint. When it rained electrical components like the windshield wipers, power windows , headlight etc would not function properly.

Purchased new Ford F-150 truck from dealership in April 2004. Wavy distortions in the windshield were evident. Reported defective windshield to dealership, which was then replaced in June 2004 (an approximate three week wait was required, because dealer reported that new windshields were not available. ) second windshield was also distorted, and dealer in another state said that windshield should be replaced by dealer that had installed second windshield. Third windshield replaced in January 2005, after six weeks of negotiations with Ford. This third windshield also has the wavy defect.
Windshield wipers, radio, door locks and air conditioning started acting erratically after a heavy rain. Even after turning vehicle off and removing the key, the problems persisted. We had just purchased this truck from goodson Acura of irving, TX and had it towed to payton wright Ford in grapevine, texas due to warranty requirements. The service manager informed us that generic electronic module had been damaged due to windshield leak. A carfax report indicated that truck had not been reported to have any accidents. The manufactured windshield was not covered in our warranty and it seems we have no recourse but to pay over $1200. 00 to Ford to fix this since there does not seem to be a market for generic electronic modules. This is a very dangerous problem with this vehicle and we do not have the money to fix it at this time, so we are left with a dangerous vehicle that could have injured us or others had we not been near our home at the time of occurrence. After researching this generic electronic module, I have found that there have been some recalls on other Ford vehicles made in 1996-2001. Many customers have had same complaint of windshield defect leading to corrosion of fuse system and modules. I would like to register this complaint because Ford offers no solution to this problem when I believe that they are well aware of this defect. *another thing we noticed was that the carfax report indicated that vehicle had 31,000 miles on it in July of 2003; however, when we purchased vehicle the mileage was different listed at 30,933. The carfax report was given to us by dealership and I am looking into this discrepancy currently.

Consumer states that while driving and no warning the rear windshield had crack starting from the driver side bottom all the way to the top of the windshield and during rainy weather water can link into the vehicle. Dealer notified. Mr.
While driving 70mph driver's side front window shattered inside vehicle. Vehicle was on the interstate, and the temperature was an average 86 degerees. No objects were found thrown inside. Ford was not notified. Please provide more information.
Windshield was not attached to the vehicle properly, it could be pushed out by hand.
Drivers door has crack in steel near window about half inch long and is getting bigger. Paint on roof, hood, and drivers door is cracking and starting to peel away.
We (abra auto body and glass--apple valley location) are replacing the windshield in a 2001 f150 that was cracked in an accident. We found that the clear coat isn't sticking to the base coat, where the urethane is. There is adhesion between the clear coat and urethane, but not clear coat and base coat. It is peeling off in chunks, creating a windshield adhesion problem which can potentially cause the windshield to come out of the vehicle in a severe crash or a roll over accident. This is a potential for a deadly situation if this were to happen. This could possibly be a problem for many trucks out there. Is there still a problem with adhesion between base and clear coats in silver colors??? this problem should be addressed immediately for the safety of your vehicle drivers. I contacted the Ford hotline (800-392-3673) and spoke with arial (employee number 2141) and he told me that because we are not a Ford dealer, there is nothing that he could do to look into this problem. The customer would need to bring the vehicle to a Ford dealer to have inspected. I let him know that the windshield was out of the vehicle and the vehicle isn't driveable because of this. I also let him know that we couldn't install the windshield with this problem still there. He told me that the customer would need to have the vehicle towed to a dealer then to have it inspected. I verified that he wants me to have the customer pay to have the vehicle towed to a Ford dealer to check out the windshield adhesion problem?? he said "yes". I thanked him for his time and contacted randy kaiser at apple valley Ford in apple valley minnesota for further advise into this issue.
Drivers side door cracked at rear corner of window. Ford will not repair because it is out of warranty.
While sitting in the driveway, windshield was cracked, from top to bottom, for no apparent reason. Vehicle was not running. I contacted Ford service and was told they didn't cover glass. Repair person believes it was a stress crack.
New Ford vehicles have windshields that appear to be more susceptible to breakage during normal use than previously. This is a hazard to safe driving as well as unfair to the consumer as there is not a way for them to determine the quality of a windshield in examining the vehicle.
Rear sliding window will leak water everytime it rains and could not fix the situation.
There is a crack in the sheetmetal approximately 3 inches up from the bottom corner of the window. This crack is on both doors. It appears to result from the bending of the door when the window is raised and lowered. The crack is getting bigger with time, and will cause the door to break.
Cracks are on both doors at the lower left corner of each window. It seems to be fatique due to the opening and closing of the windows.
The door post at lower right of window is cracking at both doors through research I have found this to be a common problem with Ford f150 & f250 trucks and I feel this could be a safety concern and fmco does not want to address this matter. Thank you michael.
The doors are cracking at the window. This is very common in all the 97-01 f150's I've looked at. Ford knows about it but does not want to cover it if it's out of warranty even though it is a design defect, and it weakens the structure causing a safety problem. I've also noticed the welds holding the roof to the side panels are cracking down the entire length of the cab roof. This is not an isolated incident either. This also has to weaken the structure causing a safety problem. It is now quite apparent why the insurance industry's crash test did so much damage to the cab of the f150. I hope you can investigate this, and put pressure on Ford to admit there is a problem, and hopefully come up with a repair. Thank you.
Stress crack on window frame next to rubber moulding, 11 1/2 " above the handle. More obvious when window is up and closed.
Detected a defect on the driver's door, located at the lower right corner of window pillar. Defect description is a small crack which is approx. 3/8" long and is rusting.
Windshield has film on outside of glass when wiper blades are turned on when it is raining. Windshield has been cleaned , replaced, cleaned again. Wiper blades have been replaced. Has been taken back to dealer several times . Problem still is not solved. Ford rep looked at this truck and 5 more on the dealer lot . All trucks had the same problem. Please contact us and we can dicuss this in further detail.
Rear windshield leaks when in contact with water. Dealer has advised that defect is where window seal is connected to window, there is a gap which cannot be sealed. Dealer has recognized problem as defect, but will not cover expenses.
Consumer was washing vehicle and noticed that water come through the rear window, and got inside of vehicle. Possibly, there was damage with seatbelt. Consumer took vehicle to the dealership, and they told him that vehicle wasn't on recall.
Door crack next to window on driver's door.
