2 Tire problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2015

Have had 2 sets of bfgoodrich 285/75/16 122r d tires that have failed with separation problems. The first set that failed 05/11, we had blowout accident on interstate causing over $3000 damage to driver front. Luckily no personal injuries bf goodrich replaced the tires at 100%, same tires. The second set have same separation problems as of 03/15, at approx. 30000 miles on 60000 mile tires. The tire kingdom store advised unsafe to drive and said these tires were manufactured at same time the recalls were. He called the recall# and was advised to replace at 100% so we replaced them with the micheline 285's. Now we are being told the bf goodrich recall office will only pay 70% on the new tires. That is unacceptable for this serious defect in these tires. It does appear the warranty doesn't really address manufacturer defects. This defect is not due to wear, tear or consumer fault. Had the defect not been in the tire, the tires would still be in good working order without danger of failure that occurred. We feel these tires are unsafe and we have asked bfgoodrich to replace with different tire at 100% since we do not feel we should be responsible for what appears to be manufacturer defect.

6 Tire problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2008

2 yokohama geolander at tires with less than 30,000 miles had tread separation causing $7000 worth of body damage. The separations were separate occasions within 3 weeks of each other. First failure was on a freeway at approx 65 mph. A sudden severe vibration followed by a tread separation of the right rear tire. A lot of body noise was happening as the not-quite-separated tread flailed around the wheelwell as was slowing and caused significant damage to body and rear bumper. Second occasion was approx 3 weeks later while pulling a 5 horse trailer with 2 horses on board. This occurrence also was on a freeway at approx 60mph. While driving downhill and rounding a right hand turn, the left rear tire tread separated and caused a swerve into the lane to the left before slowing and regaining control of the vehicle. Both tire casing appeared to have failed in the same way and they were purchased and mounted together so had exactly the same mileage on them.

7 Tire problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2008

I bought a set of new firestone destination at 285-75-r16. On July 24, 2007. Were I bought the tires they didn't have road hazard, and we didn't know that till they all ready had them on. The cost of those were $673. 52. On November 5, 2007 I had a blow out going to work with one of the tires in front and I had to buy a brand new one. To replace that tire, it cost me $155. 06 for a new one, and they would not give us a road hazard on that one sense we didn't buy it from them. Then on January 22, 2008 I had another flat blow out, on the back tire. It cost me at a firestone place $262. 39 to replace the tire and they said they would honor the road hazard for all 4 tires. So now that I have road hazard I probably won't have another blow out. So my question is, is their a recall with firestone destination at tires? or is their any other person having a problem with these tires?.

2002 f250 from j. C. Ford returned for service the two front tires was damaged by someone in the service department when I went to tell the service manager my problem he remarked we did not do that and would not talk to me about it. I will never take any vehicle back to them for any reason. Nor will I buy another Ford. This is not a complaint about Ford but about the service department at j. C. Lewis Ford.
