Engine Cooling System problems of the 2006 Ford F-250

Two problems related to engine cooling system have been reported for the 2006 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine Cooling System problem

Failure Date: 05/08/2010

The egr valve is a defective part on my 06 super-duty it has over heated on me the last two times I took my RV out ,after checking out after market parts stores I see they have one available that keeps it running cool. After doing more research its a well known fact that its a defective part along with the weak head bolts. I also heard that last year in 2009 that Ford started repairing the egr on vehicles that were brought in that have factory warranty on them. My question is why no recalls have been issued ! ! ! !.

2 Engine Cooling System problem

Failure Date: 03/31/2010

2006 Ford f250 super duty, diesel, 6. 0 l, 4x4, crew cab, short bed: total loss of throttle response while driving. The engine runs, but the truck completely stops and will not move when the accelerator is pressed. There is no advance warning. It just stops moving right where it is. This has happened on several occassions over the last few months. The egr valve has been replaced several times or cleaned the other times, but the vehicle is unsafe on the road because it stops suddenly right in the middle of the traffic lane. Why hasn't a recall been made on the egr and related parts. . . . Everytime we take it to the shop that's all that's in there for the same reasons!!.
