Valve cover bolts keep bracken (32) and leaves oil running all over the motor and transmission.
Hold down clamps for the fuel injectors are breaking or coming loose on diesel engine. Injectors are not visible for a person to look at as they are buried by covers. Due to the injector coming loose it would allow combustion gasses to escape the cylinder causing other injectors to become damaged and possibly causing a fire. This issue has happened 2 times on my truck and both times the Ford technicians stated that it is not something that should happen. Vehicle was inspected/fixed by Ford dealership techs back in March of 2021 and again in may of 2021(still there at this time). A check engine light came on and I immediately drove to the dealership both times. I will provide a picture of a Ford tech site where they talk about this issue happening and their internal memo. Ford at this time refuses to fix the issue and is making me pay for their defective parts.
With absolute zero notice a cylinder misfired which caused the crank shaft to break and the engine to blow. We maintained this vehicle very regularly and never had any issues.
Purchased vehicle 11-2018 have taken to two service shops engine knock. Metal in filter. Cylinder #1 low compression due to bad machining of the engine block. Vehicle non drivable.

2011 f250 6. 2l engine. Truck dies randomly and will not restart for sometimes days. Sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesn't. Weather is not a factor, sometimes its warm sometimes its cold. Very random start and no start issue.
While driving at a speed of 50 miles per hour the truck started losing power, was able to get to side of the highway as it lost all power and shut down was unable to restart truck. Got truck towed home and went checking the motor and the antifreeze was completely dry but no leaking under motor and no warnings of lights flashed when truck shut down. . Truck is serviced every 3 months and checked at home regularly. Truck was looked at by a ase mechanic and the motor seized.
The truck went to limp mode for 3 sec then shut off. My son was driving and it shut of on a busy 4 lane road with nowhere to go ,no power steering ,brakes ,no motor nothing. Let it be known and I am coping this letter. This could be very hazardous even deadly. I hope something is done before it kills someone or multiple people. The vehicle was in motion when it happend.
My vehicle has experienced no power while accelerating onto a state highway. Acceleration was extremely slow and created a dangerous situation in which the vehicle had to be pulled over on the shoulder immediately to move out of the way of traffic, which was very far away when I initial pulled out on the highway. This occurred multiple times and at random. The vehicle could only reach 40 mph on flat highway and while driving on mountain roads, this would decrease to a maximum speed of 20 mph. This would create a significantly dangerous situation if on was crossing an intersection with oncoming traffic. And.
Turned onto busy highway, vehicle warning chimed a few times and message center said 'stop safely now" vehicle slowed down and then shut off in the middle if an intersection with no prior warning. I had to have my wife exit the vehicle to a safe location and then have the vehicle pushed out of the intersection. I contacted a towing company to have the truck towed to a local Ford shop. They diagnosed it as a failed number 4 egt sensor. Upon further investigation I have found that this is a know problem.
Temp sensor number 4 went out truck shut down.
Driving the car at 50 miles per hour on a highway, the message "pull over safely now" came on, within 10 seconds the engine and subsequently steering shut itself down. There was no place to pull over except for a turn out lane. I bought this car to pull my 2 horse trailer and drive on interstate for long road trips. I drive at night since that is easier on my horses. If the engine and steering can shut itself down going at 75 miles per hour on interstate, 10 seconds is not a safe enough time to pull over when carrying a live animal load. I was told the sensor was bad and needed to be replaced. The vehicle is completely unsafe for what it was designed to do. No piece of mind driving and towing with a vehicle that can shut itself down without adequate warning due to bad sensors within 10 seconds. Extremely dangerous! apparently the sensors on these vehicles go out on a regular basis, it's just a matter of time until someone gets killed due to a $50 failed sensor and the engine shutting itself down and lost steering control. Dealers I have talked to are very familiar with this issue but say they can't do anything until engine shuts itself down. Dealers say it's random and unpredictable when egt sensor will fail. Some of the sensors are covered under warranty, but engine needs to shut down before dealer will fix it! insane. I have a friend whose wife died on the freeway in an accident caused by a similar issue on her vehicle before it was declared a recall. I believe that the sensor issue on the Ford 250 will lead to similar situations. It's time this is looked into before lives are lost.
On 1/21/15 I attempted to start my 2011 Ford f 250 super duty truck. The vehicle had been parked for approximately 4 hours at the parking garage where I work. The vehicle would not start and had to be towed to randall reed Ford in humble, TX. The technician has stated that the problem is the a faulty engine gas sensor which is located behind the pdf. He mentioned this is a common issue with the 6. 7 power stroke diesel motors. He is now recommending that all four sensors be replaced to the turne of over $900. I see that a recal is in place for the same model years in the f 350 and bigger with the same engine. The recall needs to be expanded to include the f 250.
Fueled up drove truck for 2 days no problems. That night while driving truck beeped low fuel pressure light came on and truck died in middle of road. Got towed in to healey bros in goshen,NY. After 4 days was told I had water in the diesel. But if there was, the water in fuel light sensor should have gone off and it didn't. The dealer told me they had to replace everything from the fuel pump to the injects. At an outstanding $10,000. After 1 month of fighting with Ford and my insurance company, nobody wants to cover even under the extended warranty I have. I gave dealership ok to fix. Another mother later supposedly still waiting on parts. At this time I've had enough making my 400. 00 a month payment and paying my insurance on a truck I don't have, I called a lawyer. Well when the lawyer requested info such as if Ford sent an adjuster, what tests did they run on fuel, what was the % of water, why didn't the light come on that they tested and said it was ok and a written statement backing up their statement of water in the fuel so I could go after the fuel company they refused to give them up. Now all of a sudden they want to work with me and Ford is gonna cover the work and credit me 2 months payments. Something smell rotten in denmark with this engine problem and healey bros Ford and Ford themselves. Still wont give me and honest answer on what the problem is. And still waiting for my truck.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Ford f250sd. The contact stated that while park with the engine on, smoke started to emit from under the hood and shortly after the vehicle was engolfed into flames. The fire department was notified and report was filed. No injuries were reported. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 62,500. Pmb.
On more than a dozen occasions, f250 will experience a near complete loss of acceleration when accelerating from a stop. Depressing the gas pedal to the floor does nothing. When you limp the truck to the shoulder and place it into park, the engine idles very rough, vibrating the passenger compartment. Only way to resolve is to stop vehicle, turn off ignition, and let the vehicle sit for 60-90 seconds. The problem usually then resolves itself. 60-70 percent of the time this occurs during tow-haul mode. Gross weight of trailer is around 11. 5k. Max pull is 14k. Dealership first replaced all fuel injectors but problem has occurred 6+ times since service. Major safety issue: vehicle was disabled on uphill grade, in roadway, with wife and kids as there was no shoulder room. Another incidence occurred in wyoming with no cell service on side of remote highway. We were stranded for 30-45 minutes as problem would not reset itself using normal method. I am no mechanic but suspect faulty computer, fuel system pump, etc. Getting ready to pursue buy-back of vehicle at dealership. Original cost close to 55k.
The truck starts violently shaking, the entire motor, truck and everything, and do not have a clue why. . . It happens at least once a week, since I bought the truck and I now have 15,000 miles on it, and it sometime happens at even 50mph. Have mentioned it to the Ford dealership service dept and they said they have not had any issues or even heard of it, but I see hundreds of post from people online that are having the exact same issue.
Our first f150 ecoboost purchased in July 2011 was taken by Ford as a lemon. The replacement truck provided in November 2011 has the same issues. While driving in rain on a freeway our v6 ecoboost f150 truck engine starts to shudder, shake and then rapidly lose power while driving at highway speeds. Then the engine completely shuts down when accelerating. Our vehicle barely made it to the side of the road where it stopped running. After letting it sit for a few minutes the engine was restarted. Although the engine worked the truck continued to shudder and shake with limited ability to accelerate for the remainder of the 3 hour drive. Over a period of many months the problem reoccurred many times, almost always when driving in the rain. The problem was even worse while driving in the rain and towing a boat trailer. The problem is especially horrific when towing a trailer and driving in the mountains in the rain. The problem also occurs no matter then weather when driving through the mountains of kentucky, tennessee and northern georgia. The truck is totally undependable. Although the truck has been in the dealership for repairs the problem is not fixed! on top of the loss of power, a life threatening situation when driving in traffic on any road especially a freeway, the miles per gallon has never been higher than 18mpg when driving on a freeway at 55mph (confirmed by a Ford mechanic) significantly below the product advertisement by Ford. To date after multiple times in the Ford dealership repair shop the problem has not been fixed.
