1 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2026

While driving at highway speeds, I drove over an expansion joint on a bridge and experienced violent shaking of the vehicle. This included violent shaking of the steering wheel and interior of the truck. I also slowed down to under 30 mph on the highway to stop the shaking. This occurred several other times and, upon researching, found it to be called a "death wobble". I brought my truck to a Ford dealership service center and mentioned the death wobble, which was immediately acknowledged. This cost $1758 out of pocket to fix. From research I have done, it seems all suspension components should not need any type of repair or replacement prior to reaching 50,000 miles, with some components lasting as much as 100,000 miles.

2 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2025

Violent shaking when driving at high speeds and after hitting bumps or uneven streets.

3 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2025

While driving on I-44 at approx. 70 mph (12:30 pm, bright sunny day, lots of traffic), I hit a bump (not large or deep, just your ordinary bump on a u. S. Interstate), the truck began shaking violently (I'm talking hard to control, teeth rattling, I think we are going to crash). The steering wheel shook violently, my wife was startled, I managed to get it down to abut 45 mph and the shaking stopped. I was 300 miles from home and it happened at least six more times before I got home.

4 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2025

Crossed over an overpass, the different road heights cause the death wobble. Have not taken to dealer yet.

5 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2025

My f250 experiences what is known as death wobble when driving over 50mph and hitting bumps. It's been happening much more frequently as of late. Only way to stop it from wobbling is getting over to the shoulder and slow down to approximately 40-45.

6 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2025

Pulling my camper with my 2019 Ford f250. As we began to go down a hill I tapped the brakes to just slow down. I was driving around 55 mph. After I tapped the brakes the front end began to shake. I guess this is known as the death wobble. It was extremely scary. Never have had anything like this before. If Ford knows about this why have they not done anything? thanks.

7 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/24/2025

Only had my truck for 6 months, my suspension is worn out causing a known issue known as death wobble. I was driving at 65mph with my family and extreme shaking occurred. Yes by a Ford dealership. Yes the truck and the area was inspected and confirmed to needing replaced parts. No warning lamps/lights appeared due to it being mechanical, I went to another shop after I already took it in to Ford, and they told me a missing component that may be the leading issue of it was deleted never there to begin with when I bought the vehicle at the Ford dealership. •truck details (2019 F-250 XLT 4x4, 88k miles) •death wobble at highway speeds •firestone confirmed factory stabilizer was deleted •def system not working •worn tie rods, drag link •low oil at purchase (indicating no inspection) •dealer is refusing to help •Ford corporate says there’s no active program — but I know TSB 19-2274 and csp 20n04 exist.

8 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2025

Unstable control when driving over uneven roads. Are you sure that recall was done on my truck?.

9 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/23/2025

Since the vehicle was purchased. It has experienced three incidences of the death wobble, which the vehicle was brought in for repairs, all under about 53,000 miles. First incident, the steering damper was replaced, second time just about all the front end was replaced at bod Ford in lee summit mo, and the third they said that they could duplicate and everything is tight, so they can't do anything (unique Ford golfstown nh). I pull a travel trailer and this isn't safe. I experienced the death wobble even though they couldn't duplicate it. So, I'm seeking out another mechanic to assess. 10 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/14/2025

Failure of the track bar bushings, failure of tie rod ends and failure of steering linkage dampers. This results in “death wobble” while driving at random speeds and contacting abnormal road surfaces. This results in the vehicle violently shaking and can lead to serious injury or death.

11 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/14/2025

After receiving a repair for the failure of track bar bushing, steering linkage dampers and tie rod ends from the Ford dealership, death wobble continues in my vehicle. This results in an almost $2000 fix. The vehicle violently shakes and could lead to serious injury or death.

12 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2025

I was driving on a 1200 mile trip with my 39ft camper. I came off an overpass bridge and my truck felt like both front tires had popped. My steering wheel was bouncing like crazy and luckily I was able to get the vehicle to a stop and off the road. My 2 children and fiancé were also in the car and were lucky not to be killed. After stopping I looked over the truck and trailer and saw nothing wrong. We started to look up the death wobble on this model and it appears many people have also reported it. This truck only has 44k miles on it. I reported it to Ford and they have made it clear that they will not be doing anything, other than allowing my extended service plan to replace the same parts if they find an issue. After talking with Ford, I was driving my truck again without the trailer and the same thing happened. Luckily I was able to gain control of the truck again. The first instance I was going approximately 70 mph and the second I was around 60 mph. I am now afraid to drive this vehicle with my family and unfortunately I’m still 1000 miles from home.

13 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2025

On [xxx] I was driving to north carolina pulling a 43 foot fifth wheel camper when I hit a bump driving at 65 mph when I hit a bump and experienced the notorious Ford death wobble. The whole truck & steering started to shake violently I had to almost come to complete stop on interstate to get truck to stop shaking & to get truck under control I do know in fact that Ford has had issues with this problem & I am concerned why Ford has not recalled their trucks for this problem. My wife also drives this truck pulling the same camper. I am concerned this will happen again when she is driving. This problem almost caused a wreck from traffic behind me having to stop suddenly. Failure Date: 12/21/2024

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph onto a bridge, the vehicle suddenly experienced the "death wobble" causing the front end of the vehicle to severely shake and vibrate. The local dealer was contacted and indicated that the front dampener needed to be replaced but the VIN was not included in the manufacturer's extended coverage to repair the issue. The manufacturer was contacted but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 35,000.

15 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 12/03/2024

After hitting a small bump on the highway my steering violently vibrated and I had to pull to the side of the interstate over a bridge because I though I had a tire blow out. I almost got rear-ended due to slowing down form 70mph to a safe enough speed to pull over. After inspecting the tires I couldn't see anything wrong. The drove fine until I hit a similar bump on the way back. Once the vibration starts, it's extremely hard to maintain control of the vehicle. 2019 Ford f250 17,000 miles.

16 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2024

Vehicle experiences death wobble in the front suspension system. While driving, vehicle suddenly shakes violently and is difficult to control. Vehicle was repaired at an authorized Ford dealership in 2021 but has since experienced the same dangerous affects of death wobble. Vehicle was inspected by the authorized Ford dealership prior to repair who confirmed the presence of death wobble. There were no warning signs prior to the vehicle experiencing death wobble before repair. There have been no warning signs after repair since death wobble has recurred.

17 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2024

When driving at speeds over 50mph and hit a slight bump or imperfection in the road the front end shakes violently and almost shakes the steering wheel out of your hands with no warning. This incident happened 10 time on a recent road trip. Internet search found this is a common problem with this model vehicle and it's called a death wobble. I don't understand why Ford hasn't issued a recall for this issue. Calling the dealership to inquire about fixing this problem.

18 Suspension problem

19 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/23/2024

I was driving on the highway at 60mph, I went over an uneven area on a highway bridge when my truck’s steering started to shake uncontrollably, I had both hands on the steering wheel and still started to swerve into the passing lane, I finally got it under control and was looking for an area to pull over as I wasn’t sure if I had a flat or not, the shaking finally stopped, I put my hazard lights on and slowly kept going , after a few miles it seemed ok. I went directly to my Ford dealer who said they have had problems with f250 stabilizer bars and made an appointment to have it looked at.

20 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2024

Experience the death wobble, violently shaking, causing very hard to control vehicle.

21 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/23/2024

I experienced the Ford truck death shake for the first time while driving 53 mph on a county road. Truck went over a few bumps in a consecutive manner and the steering wheel started shaking uncontrollable. This went on for close to a minute, I had a passenger and her child in the truck and it scared everyone. This is insane! this is Ford's top of the line heavyduty truck!.

22 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2024

When traveling this past weekend at 60-65mph, after crossing a small bump in the road, my truck lost control and vibrated into the oncoming lane by more than 50%. My truck continued left while I held the steering wheel to the right. This is not the first time this has happened, but always happens when traveling at highway speeds. This time, however, was the most drastic and scariest loss of control we have experienced. At the same time, I was hauling our horses which made for an even more dangerous situation. It was very nerve-wracking. Thankfully, no one was in the oncoming lane in that spot at that moment. I have experienced this loss of control multiple times after hitting small bumps/ripples in the road, some bumps so small that you can't see them. . . Only feel them when the truck reacts. I spoke with an agent (diane) at Ford and have an appointment with byrd kultgen Ford next Tuesday. The vehicle has not be inspected at this time. There have been no warning lamps/messages with this issue. This problem only presents itself at highway speeds (above 50mph) which I only drive one weekend per month. . . Otherwise, I stay local at regular city speeds (30-50). This problem was first noticed about year ago, but I wasn't sure at the time if it was the road or the truck. As the months have passed, along with how bad we experienced it this past weekend and googling information about others with this same issue, it is definitely the truck.

23 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2024

Driving at highway speed 65-70 mph, I drove across a rough patch of road. This rough patch was along a curve in the road. The truck from end violently vibrated, and it felt that I didn't have steers control of the vehicle. I lightly tapped the brakes and the vehicle began slowing down, while the truck drifted into the adjacent lane. The vibration continued until my speed dropped to approximately 35mph. It's was like the truck reached unstable resonate frequency. Initially, the vibration was some but grew violently quickly, and seem to continue to grow violently until I slowed the vehicle down. It wasn't a safe condition for me or other cars around me. Much less for the people in the truck who were shocked with fear. I'm traveling across country with an RV, I'm just lucky that the RV wasn't in tow at the time of the violent wobble. For what I read online, Ford was aware of this hazard, and never shared this with me or the original owner. That is unacceptable.

24 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2024

I was driving at 60mph when the truck started shaking so bad I had to come to a complete stop. I could barley steer the truck when this was happening.

25 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2024

Steering system due to "death wobble".

26 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2024

Front end uncontroable wobble from the front end. Causing swearving and lane departure. Causes uncontroable driving until under 30 mph.

27 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2024

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 mph and turning right, the vehicle aggressively veered to the right causing the vehicle to land in a ditch on the side of the roadway. The contact was able to successfully depress the brake pedal. There was no injury sustained. The contact was able to drive the vehicle out of the ditch and continued to drive at very slow speeds home. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was included in an NHTSA campaign number and the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle continued to display the death wobble while driving at speeds of 60 mph or above. The contact stated that while inspecting the vehicle there was an abnormal diesel odor coming from the vehicle. The contact became aware of diesel fuel on the ground. While inspecting the engine while the vehicle was running, diesel fuel started to shoot up and out of the vehicle. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The dealer confirmed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 22v013000 (fuel system, diesel). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,000.

28 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2024

Truck has death wobble in front suspension. Almost bad wreck on interstate.

29 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/21/2024

Over the past 100 miles my f250 4x4 has nearly lost control because of a violent shaking, or wobbling of the front end. It has happened four (4) times when driving on paved surfaces at approximately 50-55mph; it has happened once while I was braking at approximately 45mph (this would be the 5th time). I immediately slowed down (without hard braking) when the wobbling occurred, but I believe that if I hadn't, the vehicle could have been forced into the opposite lane of travel. The current mileage is 28,859 it is available for inspection I'm taking it into my Ford dealership (for the first time) tomorrow to tell it about the problem, but it was also recommended I report the issue here because of numerous similar complaints. No dash warning lights came on before, during, or after the incidents. Thank you.

30 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2024

Driving at 50 mph+, I have experienced a violent wobble in the truck that can only be stopped by coming to a complete stop with my truck. This has happened multiple times. I have read up on this and it seems to be called the “death wobble” and can not be fixed. I have had a baby and another small child in the truck with me at one of the occurrences. This wobble causes me to almost lose control over the vehicle. Is there a recall I am unaware of for the suspension and steering? I have read that customers have tried to fix the issues and have not been able to. My family uses this truck often as we don’t have another option at the moment. Another worry is that this wobble has damaged other components of the truck that I am unaware of. -trent.

31 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2023

Any sudden jolt to the front passenger side wheel causes the truck to do the death wobble. It happened 3 times yesterday (12/31/23) within a 1 hour time frame. The only way to stop it is to let the truck gradually come to a stop and then start back again. The whole truck jumps and the steering wheels shakes uncontrollably.

32 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2023

Speed wobble is pulling the vehicle into on coming traffic. Issue has been diagnosed by the Ford dealership as bad tires in the past. Replaced tires and 20,000 miles later the problem comes back.

33 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2023

“death wobble” vehicle was at highway speed when hit a bump and cause the vehicle to shake violently, causing unsafe driving conditions with lack of control.

34 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/24/2023

Steering and suspension were compromised at highway speeds upon hitting a mild change in surface (such as a bridge expansion joint). The front axle bounces and shakes violently and steering is extremely difficult. Reducing speed (below highway speed while on a highway in traffic) eventually ends the violent shaking and bouncing. This problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center nor has it been inspected by others. There were also no warning lamps or messages.

35 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/18/2023

Traveling at highway speeds on the interstate the truck began to shake violently and the steering wheel began shaking so hard that I had difficulty holding onto it. The truck was out of control and I almost went into the guard rail before I could slow down to a stop and bring the truck under control. I made it to my destination and looked at the underside of the truck and could not find anything broken. On the way back home, the truck did the same thing again after hitting a bump and I had to stop again to get the steering wheel to stop shaking - which was very concerning because of the amount of traffic I was in. There was no warning either time that this was going to happen. Going to the dealership tomorrow!.
