37 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/24/2023

Driving on the highway at speeds above 60 mph and hitting seams or bumps in the road, the front suspension starts to violently shake. It is random when it happens. The shaking causes the whole truck and steering wheel to shake uncontrollably. The only way to stop the shaking is to slow to below 40 mph. This happens at random places and times. There is no warning and the entire truck and steering wheel is fully involved in violent shaking within 3 seconds.

40 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2023

1) front suspension death wobble causing loss of control of truck. 2) lost control of the vehicle running off the road at 70 mph through a fence. 3) Ford has attempted to repair the truck 3 times, the warranty company claimed there is no probem withe the truck the 4th time and declined repair. 4) pictures have been supplied to insurance, no other inspections. 5) there are no warnings. The first time the issue appears was about 25k miles. I have had my 2019 Ford f250 truck in the shop 4 times for a total of close to 90 days for the Ford truck death wobble. The last time in the shop mpp, inc. Declined to repair the issue. On 9/20/2023, the truck started the death wobble causing loss of control and running through a barbed wire fence causing significant damage. Also, Ford has never been able to get the parts to complete the recall during the times I have had the truck in the shop.

Death wobble at highway speed.

42 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2023

I was driving by myself with my two small dogs on the interstate at approximately 70 mph when I ran over uneven pavement. Without any warning my truck began to shake so violently the dogs became terrified and hid under the seats and I briefly lost control of the vehicle. I was certain I had blown a tire. I decelerated quickly and looked for an opportunity to move out of traffic and pull over. I am incredibly blessed that I did not cause nor was injured in an accident. My truck was completely out of control for approximately 90 seconds. As I decelerated the truck regained drivability and the violent shaking dissipated. I am unsure which actual components may have failed, but my vehicle is available for inspection at any time. My safety, that of many others traveling on I-95, and the safety of my two dogs were put at serious risk of bodily harm or fatality at the complete and total loss of control of the vehicle. The problem has not been reproduced because I had no idea what had caused it. In August of 2023 my vehicle was inspected at a Ford dealership in brainerd, mn and the only issue that was discovered was a mildly leaking rear pinion seal but the rear differential fluid was still full. The real differential fluid was checked again just prior to labor day weekend at jiffy lube in aiken, SC and also found to be full. The vehicle has been inspected by a Ford dealership in August, 2023 but not by the original manufacturer, police, or insurance representative. Absolutely zero warnings were ever issued by the Ford onboard computer. This is particularly disturbing as my onboard computer lets me know when even one tire pressure is off. There was zero symptoms of the problem prior to failure other than a typical "rough" Ford ride, which was explained to me when I purchased the vehicle, for cash, in virginia. I have since researched this phenomenon, dubbed "death wobble" and am furious that Ford currently has knowledge of this and yet refuses to act on it.

43 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2023

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at speeds above 45 mph the vehicle had experienced the "death wobble" after driving over a bump in the road. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the front drivers and passenger side shock absorbers and dampeners. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 25,000.

44 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/12/2023

At less than 10,000 miles, on a curve, my truck began shacking uncontrollably, putting me in to oncoming traffic and into a ditch. I was able to control it enough and an accident didn’t occur. I contacted my salesman and he said it was known as the death wobble. He told me to bring it in. I took it in and they explained that they can put a steering damper on it, but it wouldn’t fix the problem and they needed to replace several parts. I said it’s under warranty so do it. They explained it wouldn’t be covered and the only thing Ford would pay for would be the dampener. I told them to do it. At app. 32,000 miles it has happened again. I feel that Ford is not taking responsibility and that it could cost my life, as well as others.

45 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2023

Driving and hit bump in road. At that time the front-end felt like it was coming out from under the truck. Almost caused a wreak but was able to stop. Found no issues but did it again when next bump was hit. Ws told it is a know issue with what is called the death wobble. How are you allowed to sell a truck with a death wobble.

46 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/27/2023

Since purchasing the truck new I have experienced a violent shaking of the truck after hitting a small (1-2 inch) bump on the freeway. The shaking did not abate until I slowed to about 15 mph. This has occurred about a dozen times over the course of the last three years. It also occurred while my son (a police sergeant and driving instructor) was towing a boat to the lake, nearly causing an accident. He also owns a 2016 Ford F-250 super duty but it has never happened while driving his truck, only mine. I have made numerous attempts to get the truck repaired by Ford to no avail. I sincerely believe someone is going to die if this issue is not resolved, I only pray it is not me or one of my family members. For the forthcoming questions I am using the first time it occurred. I don't have a record of every time it occurred.

47 Suspension problem

48 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2023

Experienced the death wobble on the freeway. I was forced to pull over on the shoulder of the freeway. I thought I had a blow out. It scared the heck out of me. Once I reentered the freeway the wobble was gone. Now when I hit rough spots on the road the front end vibrates like it is loose.

49 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2023

I was driving on the highway at about 70 mph when the truck suddenly lost control. I almost crash into the nearest wall. Fortunately I didn’t, and I managed to break however as I was braking the truck kept shaking. All the tires were inspected and they aren’t the issue. Something to do with the suspension caused the lost of control.

50 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2023

On June 5. 2023, my family was on the way to dallas. In huntsville, TX, we were driving approximately 68mph when we hit an small divet in the roadway. The truck then began to shake violently and would not cease until we pulled off the highway to a complete stop. After checking the truck over, no apparent damage had caused the occurence. I had heard previously about a "death wobble" and after some online research, determined this is what had occured. We immediately called our local Ford (gullo Ford in conroe, TX) dealership to find that there were no "active recalls" but that if it was determined that a part was causing this, they might repair it after a $140 diagnostic fee. We scheduled an appointment and continued on our trip hoping the occurence would not happen again. In the matter of less than an hour, it occured 4 more times and I deteremined that for my safety and my families safety that we would find a local dealership and try to fins another vehicle to complete our trip. I personally did not feel safe driving the vehicle anymore until the problem was fixed. Luckily, the Ford dealer in corsicanna ( brinson Ford) had heard of the issue and was able to put a band-aid fix (free of charge) on the issue but advised it could happen again. I have video of somoe of the occurences that my wife videoed from the back seat. I'm amazed that Ford doesn't have to officially ackowledge this as a safety recall and will be following up with them as they put me, my wife, and my 10 month old baby in danger multiple times. I now am nervous to even drive my vehicle until I have a 3rd party check over the "repair" and determine it is safe to drive. From what I have heard, the part they replaced is just a temporary fix and doesn't truly address the issue at hand. Some mechanics advise re-doing multile suspension and steering components costing upwards of 5k.

51 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2023

On 6/4/23 I was on sr 2 in erie county ,ohio. The speed limit was 70 mph and my cruise control was set at 70 mph & traffic was fairly heavy. I passed over an expansion joint and my steering wheel started shaking violently back and forth and the vehicle was nearly uncontrollable. The other vehicles near me fortunately saw I was having trouble and luckily they were able to steer clear of me. The only way I got it to quit was to veer to the shoulder, break hard and bring it to a complete stop. After gaining my composure I cautiously pulled back on highway with my warning lights on and did 40 mph to the next exit. Slowly made my way back home not knowing if it was going to reoccur. It was amazing that I or anyone near me wasn’t injured or killed! if my wife would have been driving there is no way she would have been able to control it.

52 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/07/2023

Traveling at between 65 and 70 miles an hour I hit a small bump in the road and the front suspension and steering wheel started to violently shake. Pulling me all over the road and almost off the road. Fortunately I was able to avoid other drivers. And keep it out of the ditch. I am now terrified to drive my truck. After speaking with the dealer they will repair. Using new parts identical to the ones that failed. With no guarantee that it would not happen again in the future. I feel my truck is completely unsafe to drive. Especially when there's zero warning that this could happen again in the future. Luckily no one was hurt and I avoided barely hitting other cars on the highway.

55 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/17/2023

When traveling on the highway going 65 mph hit an uneven spot on highway and the truck started shaking vigorously and had to hold on tight and slow down in the middle of the highway. No safety lights came on. I have an appointment at a dealer to look at it. A goggle search on the problem names it as death wobble.

56 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2023

When I was traveling down the road when hitting a bump my steering started rattling uncontrollably. It felt as if my truck was going to steer off and hit the side wall. My safety was put at risk and others not knowing where my vehicle was going to go on the road. This is not just a problem with my vehicle either. Thousands and thousands of forums online Ford customer have experienced the same problem time and time again since 2005. Brand new $90k truck rolling off the lot with Ford knowing this is a problem. I just bought this truck a week ago. I should not be spending $48k on a vehicle and already need to dump money into it when this is purely a manufacture problem. There is absolutely no warning that this problem is going to happen either. It can happen anytime any day. If you aren’t holding on tight enough you may just lose control. So you better be ready at all times when driving this vehicle.

57 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/24/2023

Driving on freeway at approx 55mph when sudden severe, violent shaking and almost uncontrollable steering began. 58 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/21/2023

When traveling on the highway at about 60-65 mph and hit a bump. The front end started to shake violently. I believe this is know as the f250 death wobble. I was able to slow down and it stopped, but almost went into the jersey barrier. I went to the Ford dealer I bought the truck from and they have ordered parts to fix this issue. (hopefully). The mileage on the truck is 20,500. This occurred on 3/21/23. There were no warning lights or other symptoms before this incident.

59 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/08/2023

When driving on the highway, if I drive over a rough spot, bridge abutment, pot hole etc, sometimes the truck will begin to shake violently. Usually the shaking will only stop if I slow down to below 35 mph. This issue seems to be worse when towing a trailer. I have had the steering damper replaced by Ford 2 times. The issue usually gets better for 10-15,000 miles and then will get worse. First starting with a slight "wiggle" or looseness in the steering wheel. Then after a couple thousand more miles death wobble will start to occur.

60 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2023

My 2019 f250 super duty has severe shaking in the front end also known as the death wobble I read that Ford put out a release for any 2017 to 2019 under the customer satisfaction guarantee that my truck should be repaired but when I type in the VIN it does not say that I qualify for that repair even though I have the exact year and the exact problems associated with the recall can somebody explain to me why my truck is not covered for these fixes?.

61 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2023

Driving on the highway and I hit an uneven spot and started to vigourly shake. I had to slow down to make it stop. Very dangerous and hard to control.

While driving 45 miles an hour down a 3 lane highway I hit a pothole with the left front tire only the truck started to shake uncontrollably I had a hard time keeping it straight and veered into the left lane had to aggressively apply the brakes to get the vehicle to stop causing the vehicle behind me to swerve into the other lane no accidents occurred fortunately this is the 1st time it has happened and the truck did not show any signs of warning or issues. Once I got to a safe place to get out I looked around the truck but could not find any wrong. I will have it inspected by Ford.

63 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2023

I'm experiencing with what several mechanics call a "death wobble". That is to say when I'm driving the vehicle and I hit a pothole or bump in the road fifty five miles an hour or faster, the steering wheel and suspension shakes violently and and I have lost some control momentarily. I need to know whether or not there's been a recall for the 2019 Ford f250 crew cab lariat. My concern is the steering dampener, pitman arm and any other front end suspension linkage for the steering and suspension assembly is malfunctioning and needs to be recalled.

64 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/14/2023

I experienced the Ford "death wobble" I had $1200 worth of repairs done on steering and suspension parts. 10,000 miles and 7 months later I am experiencing the same problems again. This is a real safety concern because you loose all control of the vehicle at speeds over 50 miles per hour. How long before this problem kills someone? the first time I experienced this problem the vehicle dragged me accross 3 lanes of traffic at 70 mph.

65 Suspension problem

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving 70 mph over a bump in the roadway, the vehicle experienced the death wobble. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact slowed down to regain control of the vehicle. The contact was able to continue driving to his destination. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with customer satisfaction program: 20n04 (steering linkage damper extended coverage); however, the manufacturer stated the vehicle had exceeded mileage. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

66 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2023

At speeds above 50 mph when you go over uneven road surfaces there is tremendous shaking with the steering to the point that almost leads to uncontrollable steering. The only way to control is to brake to reduce speed. Internet searches for this condition describe it as f series wobble.

67 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2023

I was driving approximately 60 mph. There were several small bumps in the road and the truck went into a very violent shake and wobble. This is commonly known as the Ford death wobble. . . Very scary and dangerous. The vehicle was extremely hard to control. Luckily the service advisor at coggin Ford had warned me about this possible condition. I was told if this wobble ever happened to let immediately back off the accelerator and not touch the brakes?? I did exactly as he said and was able to get the truck into the emergency lane where I slowed down in a slow and dangerous way. I took the truck to coggin Ford. The truck has only 21000 miles. They claim it just needs an alignment and a steering dampener which was already changed by Ford at 2500 miles? the service department told me that the parts are unavailable but the think it needs an alignment? the alignment was fine until the death wobble?? this is a dangerous condition that could have killed myself, my daughter or other drivers. . . Please let me know what the NHTSA is doing to prevent this from causing accidents and let me know what my options are. . . Thank you, philip monson 904-487-8936.

68 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2023

While driving our 2019 Ford f250 superduty at highway speeds it develops a "death wobble" at this point it is very difficult to control the truck and the only way to get it to stop the violent shaking is to come to a stop. This is a known problem for Ford and they claim the parts are on backorder and it'll be months before parts are available. This vehicle has been inspected at a Ford dealership twice but lack of parts makes it so it cannot be fixed. Steering linkage damper extended coverage details description steering linkage damper extended coverage campaign# 20n04.
