Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problems of the 1999 Ford F-350

Three problems related to automatic transmission torque converter have been reported for the 1999 Ford F-350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2003

The torque converter went out and destroyed the transmission. Had to have complete replacement that Ford said would not be covered. Vehicle had 75,000 miles.

2 Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2002

Cab of the truck vibrated very hard at any speed. Took to mechanic and they replaced torque converter, then hub, still same problem. Took to Ford, Ford replaced tires, still shaking. Then, they replaced driveshaft, still shook. Dealer did not know what the problem was. Please provide any further information.

3 Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problem

Failure Date: 08/27/1998

Transmission/engine cranckshaft are misaligned. Torque convertor in bind. Vehicle makes a metal grinding noise. Vehicle needs to be driven before working properly.
