Three problems related to wiring have been reported for the 2002 Ford F-350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My Ford f350 superduty quad cab lariat le diesel had been sitting in my back yard for about 5 hours with the block heater plugged in. I heard an explosion and looked out the window. The front of my truck was on fire. The fire consumed the intercooler, air conditioner evaporator and all the headlights, grill, rubber on the bumper and all plastic, rubber parts, wiring, hoses under the hood including both batteries.
The contact owns a 2002 Ford f350 super duty. The contact stated that smoke and flames billowed from the hood of the vehicle. The wiring from the alternator was completely burnt. The dealer stated that the wiring failed and they made repairs, however, the fire recurred. The current and failure mileages were 80,000. *updated 12/12/07.
Shifting the transmission, fuse blown, every time truck was driven,loose instrument panel, tack, speedometer, gas pedal vehicle will not move, replaced shift lever and wiring harness. I asked for the old parts, they had thrown them away.
