2 Other Fuel Type Engine Turbo-charger problem

Failure Date: 05/12/2006

: the contact stated intermittently while traveling 60 mph, the vehicle lost power but did not stall. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where the turbo was replaced. This occurred at least four more times and the dealership reattached the hose from the turbo to the engine. The vehicle has not been driven since that repair. 06/02/06 updated turbo hose to intake manifold continues to blow off causing loss of power and large amount of smoke emitted from exhaust pipe.

3 Other Fuel Type Engine Turbo-charger problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2005

2004 f350 turbo diesel pick up the turbo diesel booster is defective and cannot be repaired as to make the truck safe while towing. This may cause an accident on an uphill grade because of rapid lose of power and speed. If a vehicle is following to closely behind this vehicle. My vehicle has been repaired twice for the problem and the Ford dealer says this is not there problem but the Ford manufacturer's problem. They have not put out a recall nor a repair kit for this problem.

4 Other Fuel Type Engine Turbo-charger problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2005

I have a 2004 F-350 turbo diesel 6. 0 l. Truck. The truck surges when you drive it. It cuts out. It dies on the road when you are driving it. We have made several complaints to rich Ford in edgewood and albuquerque. This is a very serious safety hazard. They have attempted to fix it four times. The last time I took it to rich Ford in albuquerque was because I was waiting to pull out into traffic with my foot on the brake and the truck was surging forward into traffic. I was very scared as was my ten year old son. I had my foot pressed as hard as I could on the break and that was not stopping the truck from moving forward. I drove straight to the dealership, rich Ford of albuquerque, and they told me that they could not service my vehicle that day. I would have to wait two weeks. I was scared to drive the truck home. I am afraid for my family's safety. This is a dangerous vehicle and Ford is not willing to do anything about it. They have made several attempts to fix the problem but they can not "duplicate" the problem when they have it in their custody. This is a dangerous vehicle and should be taken off the road. This started about six months ago maybe longer. The last time I took it to the dealership where they turned me away was February 1, 2006.

5 Other Fuel Type Engine Turbo-charger problem

Failure Date: 04/25/2004

Under acceleration between 25 and 45 mph the vehicle loses power. There is hesitation when vehicle accelerates. It is as though it bogs down and can not gain any speed. Also, a large amount of black smoke was expelled from the exhaust. When this occurs the truck comes to crawl in middle of traffic, and happens mostly in stop and go traffic, as well as on interstate. Took vehicle to a dealer 4 times for this problem within 28,000 miles. Dealership could not find anything wrong, but did trouble shooting repairs to the computer, and then replaced the turbo. Dealer admitted they did not know how to fix or diagnose this problem. Consumer has not contacted the manufacturer at this time. No other repairs were done or issues outside of this probekm occurred.
