Wheel problem #1

I'm currently experiencing the "death wobble" with my vehicle, making it unsafe to drive past 60 mph due to intense shaking. This is a serious safety concern for both me and my family. This issue happens frequently on the freeway, and we all fear that the wheels could fall off or the vehicle might flip over. When I took the vehicle to the service center, the advisor told me I needed to add a stabilizer to my front wheels and suggested that I buy the part online and install it myself, recommending youtube for guidance. However, I have no idea what part to buy or where to get it. I’m not the designer of the truck, and I shouldn’t have to add extra parts for it to drive properly. I also believe this is a manufacturer issue, especially since multiple people seem to be experiencing the same problem.

Wheel problem #2

On a clear day, no rain while traveling on an interstate hwy at approx 70mph, I drove onto a bridge and my truck starting violently shaking , the complete front end was causing the truck to move from side to side and I could hardly hold onto the steering wheel! my wife was was so afraid we were going to roll over, as was I! finally after taking my foot off of the gas, at about 30 or 40 mph it stopped! I'm taking it to my dealership first thing in the morning! its not safe to drive, as I might not be so lucky next time it happens. I'm finished with Ford trucks that's for sure!!!!.

Wheel problem #3

Driving on highway at 60 m/h violent shaking of the front end and steering occurs when there is a change in pavement, also known as the "death wobble" replacing suspension, ty-rods and sway bar ,etc. Did not fix the problem.

Wheel problem #4

Driving at higher speeds in my 2012 f350 lariat, the truck gets to 60 fine but any faster then that and it begins to get a speed wobble that causes the entire truck to vibrate at a uncontrollable shake that throws the steering and I found it unsafe to hit the brakes, which forces you to just coast while the trucks shakes violently. For a truck that people pay up to $40,000 ot should be able to cruise at speeds above 60-70 mph with no problem. It seems to be thrown off by the smallest divit or bump in the roads but only at highway speeds. Which makes it that much more dangerous. I have a 6 year old that was in the truck many times as this happens and it's a scary thing it feels like the wheels are going toncome off. Only had this truck for about 6 months now also. It seems in mint condition except for the speed wobble.

Wheel problem #5

While driving on the freeway in heavy traffic at approximately 60 mph my 2012 Ford F-350 super duty crew cab truck began to shake violently so much so that the vehicle was hard to control resulting in a near miss of collision with vehicles next to me. With great effort I was able to control the truck and come to a stop safely. I exited the freeway and took surface roads at slow speeds to get home,.

Wheel problem #6

October 16th Friday picked up my wife martha from work around 5 pm. Driving on a country road, smooth straight section, felt shimmy in steering wheel. We didn't have trailer. Road was dry and in good condition. Had been looking in to death wobble and watching videos earlier in the week. Decided to move steering wheel a little left and then back a little right (as if trying to avoid a pot hole, no cars were on coming and one car was behind me), going about 50 mph. Death wobble started and was totally unexpected, shook both the wheel violently and shook the whole truck. I put on the brakes but don't remember how long it took to slow and have the shacking stop, move truck to the side of the road and let car pass me. Dropped of the truck at martha's work and took her car to our destination. Items in the back seat of truck, cooler, plastic bin container and suitcase that was on the truck seat was now on the floor. Will add pdf with more related detail.

Wheel problem #7

Ford super duty truck developed a severe vibration at 70mph on interstate highway. It was a dangerous situation that caused the vehicle to swerve to the left instantly. I was in heavy traffic, I had to slow the vehicle drastically which caused other traffic to have to avoid me. Investigated online, they even have a nick name "death wabble" I found hundreds and hundreds of cases in 15 minutes, what are you doing there? this has to be a recall or something, I'm afraid to drive my truck. Help us.

Wheel problem #8

Tread separation on bf goodrich - all terrain t/a; lt285/65r20 tires -- dot be3f uh11 1313. In the past few months I have re[;aced two of these tires due to tread separation. In total that is 4 tires (bf goodrich - all terrain t/a; lt285/65r20) tires that have had this problem. I do believe that this tire is defective and should be recalled!!!.

Wheel problem #9

At speeds between 50 and 62 mph the vehicle will begin a violent uncontrollable shaking in the steering requiring the driver to decrease speed below 45 mph to stop the oscillations. At the time this is happening there is little control over steering and front wheel traction is reduced to almost nothing when it happens on a curve resulting in the inability to remain on the roadway. This is commonly referred to as the "for death wobble" and can be seen on youtube. The earliest incidence I've seen dates to 2007. The dealer tells me that Ford has prescribed a number of things to remedy this situation which the dealer has done and it still hasn't resolved the situation. The repairs have be covered under warranty thus far, but now they have no further solutions to fix the issue. Wet or slick conditions renders this vehicle unusable because of the loss of the ability to steer the vehicle.

Wheel problem #10

Driving straight on a highway at 70 mph, hit a small bump on the driver side only. The steering wheel started shaking violently, the front end and quickly the entire truck felt as though it was shaking apart and was swinging back and forth, I slammed on the brakes and the shaking got worse until about 15 mph, it then stopped. I then got up to 60 mph and when I hit a bump the same thing happened. Then got up to 50 mph and the same thing happened. Then got up to 40 mph and it did not happen again at that speed. I drove 100 miles home at 40 mph on a main highway. Today I am bringing my truck to the dealership to have it fixed under warranty, I will do 40 mph all the way there. I will not tow my horses trailer with this vehicle, it would have caused an accident and killed my horses.

Wheel problem #11

This is probably about the 30th time my Ford F-350 has had a death wobble. This time I was driving on highway 69 between prescott valley and prescott when it started. It was shaking so bad that I almost lost control and hit the median. The other vehicles must have noticed the vehicle shaking because all of the traffic around me backed way off. Once again I reported it to Ford and took it in right away. They told me again that if it did not do it for them there was nothing they could do for me and sent me home with my vehicle. This seems to be a problem with the Ford F-350 but Ford refuses to recall or fix it. I found tons of information online about the issue as well as youtube videos taken of the events happening.

Wheel problem #12

I am experiencing what they call the "death wobble". After hitting a series of bumps / pot holes, the front wheels start to shimmy and shake the truck violently, very hard to control the vehicle. As the mileage increases on my truck, the incidents are becoming more frequent and intense. Today, 04/09/2014, I almost got killed . . . Literally ! on I-65 south of lafayette indiana, hit a serious of road patch bumps and holes . . . The truck began to shimmy and shake and it went into a frenzy, the whole truck shaking violently. Cars around me were diverting away, and a semi was pushing hard from behind and hit his air brakes, I could not control the vehicle. Applying the brakes only made it worse. I am a 6' 3" strong muscular man, and could not control the steering wheel or direction of the vehicle. I started in the right lane, but wound up in the median, and almost took out (2) cars to my left and of course the impending semi behind me. I told the dealer of the issue, they did their inspections and found nothing. The truck is oem, I have not added or modified a single thing, it is as it was from the factory. Nothing has been changed or modified from the original factory condition !! a Ford certified dealership has serviced this vehicle since the day I bought it new in February of 2013. There have been lawsuits filed, I have not had the time to do more research. But it seems pretty incredible to me, that with this recurring issue that goes back 15 years or more, that this agency or Ford has done nothing to address or correct the situation. Guess we need at least 12 deaths to make it worth someone's attention to understand that this is a severe safety problem, not only to the driver and his occupants, but to other drivers on the road around one of these trucks when the "death wobble" does it's thing, taking over the truck. Why is this being ignored ??.

Wheel problem #13

I purchased my f350 new in 2012. Since that time I have experienced a severe wobble in the front end while I am driving. It starts vibrating at about 45mph and sometimes escalates to where I have to almost slam on the brakes to stop it. It has done this probably 12-15 times and since 2022 it is definitely getting worse and worse. Ford says its my motor mounts, but it has done this since it was new! I read about the "death wobble" on the internet and I definitely have a defective front end. I am concerned that it may cause me to be in a bad accident after having to hit the brakes so hard to stop it. Can you assist?.
