36 Wheel problem of the 2017 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 08/13/2022

Traveling down the road at or around 62 -65 mph and you hit a bump truck goes into a violent shake that can only be stopped by slowing down below 40 mph. You have to immediately start slowing down, and it there is someone following that isn’t paying attention it going to get us rear ended on the highway. The truck has 54,000 miles on it. Ford should own the problem.

37 Wheel problem of the 2016 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 07/02/2022

Assuming something in suspension. Uncontrollable vibration in front suspension/steering of vehicle. Not as of yet for my vehicle. Did find many reports online referencing what I/we experienced. Scheduled to take into dealer and local service facility for further inspection. No warnings of any kind. Around 65 -70 mph there's violent vibration/shaking on the wheels making steering uncontrollable. Vibration continues till vehicle's speed is reduced to around 40 mph. Seams to occur when tires experience bumps/imperfections in road. These bumps/imperfections are minor at that. I have now experienced this situation now 6 times. As previously mentioned, during research I found multiple youtube videos other online references this situation as "death wobble". Multiple news affiliation have done reports on this experance/situation.

38 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 06/17/2022

Several occurrences of violent sustained steering oscillation at high speeds, also known as death wobble. Front end steering components failing/worn out at 55k miles. Violent shaking of front end on interstate, little to no control of vehicle. The only way to get this frightening death wobble event to stop is to slow down to nearly a stop on the interstate which put driver and passenger at rick or being rear ended or causing another type of accident. Vehicle does not feel safe to drive, every bump or expansion joint in the road is a stress inducing concern when driving. Ford offering steering stabilizer replacement but identified that the truck needs tie rods and a new drag link as well to get this death wobble to stop. Ford should recall these components for safety reasons.

40 Wheel problem of the 2013 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 05/11/2022

Traveling at speeds between 60-70mph on highways, at slights curves with rough pavement, my truck begins shaking violently to the point of losing control. Once I slow down and pull over it stops. It occurs without any warning. It has now happened a half dozen times. Nearly lost control and just avoided an accident on the last event. I had recall work done at Ford dealer today. Described the event. They told me about “death wobble” occurrences common with f250 and f350s. Looked it up. Description matches perfectly with my experience. Mechanics checked my steering linkage, axel, wheels for play, u linkages. Nothing out of the ordinary. I am deeply concerned for my safety.

41 Wheel problem of the 2014 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 05/10/2022

My pickup has a very unsafe “death wobble” that I have found has been a problem for many others. It is unknown what part or parts are failing as I can’t get a straight answer, I have been recommended to replace the shocks and tires as well as add an aftermarket steering stabilizer. My individual safety is put at risk every time I hit a minor bump or line in the pavement, it causes the front end to shake so bad that I could easily lose control and if there was someone in the lane next to me it could cause an accident!the problem has been reported to dealers from countless others I have spoken to and Ford tells them it’s normal! how is it normal for a vehicle to react in such a way? a minor line in the pavement or even a rumble strip can cause loss of control? Ford needs to fix this! the worst part of this is, I just bought this truck, found out about all this when I was driving out of state the day after I bought it 5/10/22! I would love for a NHTSA inspector to come for a ride-a-long so they can witness it first hand!.

42 Wheel problem of the 2017 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 05/07/2022

That the intersection of 1010 and rhodes road 6204 ten-ten rd, apex, nc 27539. . I have been driving it and steady crossing my fingers hoping to god my tires don’t fly off and hurt somebody or kill somebody or me… I just can’t do it anymore, I have got to get the thing in the shop it’s got the death wobble and is just starting to scare me. . I love my truck I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but it’s definitely got a problem I honestly think it may be several different things but at any rate it needs to be fixed.

43 Wheel problem of the 2015 Ford F-350

44 Wheel problem of the 2014 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 04/20/2022

When driving down the road, generally occurs during deceleration at speeds over 50mph the truck begins to have a death wobble. The death wobble it so violent that you feel like the truck is going to just fall apart. Dealership claims they can’t find anything wrong with truck. It happens everytime I drive the truck. I don’t have another vehicle and when paying $60,000 for a truck you would expect better quality than this from Ford.

45 Wheel problem of the 2015 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 04/18/2022

3 times in the past year my 2015 F-350 truck started to wobble and shake increasingly after a slight bump at approximately 55 mph. Once it started, it continued to increase instability and control of the vehicle. I immediately slowed and pulled over carefully to a stop and got out to examine the vehicle. There wasn’t anything I could find externally that I hit that would cause the vehicle to react the way it did. I was able to continue driving without a repeat until several weeks later. This has happened 3 times in the past year.

46 Wheel problem of the 2018 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 03/30/2022

Lug nuts "swell" up and are not easy to remove. I have not had a flat on the side of the road, yet, but I can forsee huge problems trying to remove these swollen lug nuts in a bad situation. Contacted Ford service since I have an extended warranty, but they would not cover giving me replacement lug nuts. Bad design + bad service policy = stranded customer in bad situation.

47 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 03/02/2022

Rims crack around air stem. Airing up tires daily. Dealership welded 1 rim to stop wheel leak. We have a dually truck 4 of the wheels cracked and leak. We fill tires with air daily.

48 Wheel problem of the 2017 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 12/27/2021

On dual rear wheel setup. Galvanic corrosion between metal valve stem and aluminum wheel caused air to leak out resulting in an unsafe condition where unequal tire pressures between the inner tire and outer tire caused unpredictable situation under normal driving condition and would have multiplied under towing condition where added weight on tire would have decreased my response time in the event of a tire failure.

49 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 12/16/2021

While driving on freeway between 55 mph and 65 mph the truck shakes violently when driving over an uneven bridge transition or uneven bumps is highway. Impossible to control and had to pull over to stop. This has happened 3 times within a months time.

50 Wheel problem of the 2016 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 11/28/2021

I have a 2013 f350 king ranch. It only has 31. 755 miles on it. I’ve had it for 2 years. On November 28, 2021while merging onto the freeway my trucks front end stated shaking, bouncing and vibrating so bad that I had to immediately stop to about 5mph. This just happened out of absolutely nowhere. It didn’t do it again until I returned home. This time it again came out of know where at around 60mph. I had to come to a dead stop on the freeway. The truck was uncontrollable. I again accelerated to 65mph. It started again and I stopped. This happened another 7 times on the way home. I could control it between 53-60mph. When I got home, both of my front tires were worn down on the outside 3in of tread. There were chucks of rubber the size of dimes that broke off during the violent shake and wobble. I had to get new tires the next day and today my truck to the dealership this morning. It is December 1, 2021. The best way I can explain the feeling is the following. It’s was like driving over speed bumps that where evenly spaces 3ft apart, all in a row. When hit them I immediately hit the brakes and it was like coming to a stop on the same row of speed bumps. The wobble was more violent and could just barely be controlled. I really thought the truck was coming apart. Then at 5-10mph it turned into smooth road. But my tires where getting more tore up during each wobble. Total of 11 wobble on a 10 mile stretch.

51 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 11/24/2021

While driving at highway speeds hit slight transition in road and vehicle steering shakes uncontrollably to the point of extreme danger. Slow down to a stop thinking blown out tire or something snapped in front end. No signs of physical damage. Try to limp home find condition is no longer present. It has happened two more times since then with passengers in vehicle on busy roads. Extreme danger situation Ford can not get it in for diagnosis for 2 weeks.

52 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 11/09/2021

Over the past two weeks of travel - approximately 3000 miles - this f350 experienced a violent shimmy at highway speeds (cruising between 55 - 68mph - max) seven separate times, with the last 4 events occurring 11/9/2021 in immediate succession (within 10 minutes of each other) when leaving kingman az - heading west on i40. Each time this violent shimmy seemed to be precipitated by running over rough sections of road or bridge transitions, this violent shimmy could only be cleared by slowing to approximately 25 mph. The pickup truck was fully loaded, close to the gvwr. Internet research of this problem has led me to believe it is a known phenomena among Ford f350 & f250 owners called "death wobble". Very dangerous situation, think about it, having to slow to 25 mph from freeway speeds attempting to get into either the slow lane or shoulder - eventually an accident will happen if this "death wobble" is not resolved. I've reported this situation to my jim burke Ford local dealer here in bakersfield CA (where I purchased the pickup) and have schedule investigation and hopefully repair on 6 December.

53 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 10/04/2021

My truck started violently shaking after going over a groove in the road. Has happened about 3 times. Ford dealership said that they can't get me in until November 10th.

54 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 09/20/2021

Employee was driving down a highway when he suddenly lost power to the rear wheel making the truck jerk to the left. Passenger side dual rear wheel axle shaft sheared in half at the base of the housing causing the rear wheels to come loose. No warnings on dash just loss of power.

55 Wheel problem of the 2009 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 09/04/2021

On September 4th & 5th two separate occasions I was driving on us 85 in wy when I hit a bump in the road and my truck started shaking violently and was hard to control. I immediately pulled over and slowed down until the shaking stopped but was almost rear ended by the truck behind me on one occasion.

56 Wheel problem of the 2018 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 06/16/2021

I have had numerous times where I am driving between 25-70 mph and run over a small bump in the road and the truck front end begins to shake violently until I am able to slow down to around 10-20mph. Steering is difficult and it has caused near accidents with people almost hitting me from behind because I have to slow down quickly for no apparent reason to gain control of the car, and they are not expecting the quick slow down. This is a well documented condition Ford is aware of called "death wobble". I did have a recall to replace some "dampening part" but it has not helped and now the vehicle seems much worse and will start to shake with the slightest of bump or even when applying the brakes quickly. This began within 6 months of ownership and has continued frequently to current date of this report.

57 Wheel problem of the 2010 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 06/11/2021

Two incidents of front-end wobble at hwy speeds (65 & 70 mph) that caused violent vibration-shaking of steering wheel, on April 7, 2021 and June 11, 2021. June occurrence happened following pothole strike, lasting +10 seconds with vibration settling after achieving speeds <40 mph. Dealership appointment made for 17 June 2021, suspension check.

58 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 05/05/2021

While driving on the express way (m-I-75) at a speed of 65 miles per hour I hit a bump and my truck shook fiercely and uncontrollably forcing me to drive on the side of the road until I could get the vehicle to stop. Upon starting to drive again this incident was repeated leaving me to roll down the side of the expressway until I could reach an exit to get off into a safe area. When I looked this up online I found that this incident is already know and named, "the death wobble!".

59 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 05/04/2021

On two occasions the truck has gotten the shakes and it's hard to control on the road. Steering wheel vibrates bad too. Was going about 50 mph each time. Once down the highway in a construction area and the other time down a county road. I believe it has a death wobble.

60 Wheel problem of the 2015 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 05/01/2021

The vehicle goes into a violent shaking of the front end and steering wheel (Ford death wobble). It has happened many times in the last two or so years. It can start at any time when the truck is traveling over 60 mph but it is usually associated with a bump in the road. It usually stops when I slow to 40-45 mph. I replaced the track bar ball joint and the steering stabilizer shock and the truck didn't shake for several months but now the problem has returned. When the problem started the truck was probably under 100,000 miles and now has a bit over 130,0000.

61 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 04/27/2021

When driving the vehicle at highway speed vibration can be felt in steering wheel/accelerator/floorboard. When I hit a small bump while driving thw vibration gets worse.

62 Wheel problem of the 2012 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 04/25/2021

Driving on highway at 60 m/h violent shaking of the front end and steering occurs when there is a change in pavement, also known as the "death wobble" replacing suspension, ty-rods and sway bar ,etc. Did not fix the problem.

63 Wheel problem of the 2012 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 04/17/2021

Driving at higher speeds in my 2012 f350 lariat, the truck gets to 60 fine but any faster then that and it begins to get a speed wobble that causes the entire truck to vibrate at a uncontrollable shake that throws the steering and I found it unsafe to hit the brakes, which forces you to just coast while the trucks shakes violently. For a truck that people pay up to $40,000 ot should be able to cruise at speeds above 60-70 mph with no problem. It seems to be thrown off by the smallest divit or bump in the roads but only at highway speeds. Which makes it that much more dangerous. I have a 6 year old that was in the truck many times as this happens and it's a scary thing it feels like the wheels are going toncome off. Only had this truck for about 6 months now also. It seems in mint condition except for the speed wobble.

64 Wheel problem of the 2008 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 04/02/2021

Death wobble-erratic driving when this happened it was in motion on a highway.

65 Wheel problem of the 2015 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 03/22/2021

When you get past 48 miles per hour the front end/steer shakes noticeably. Also, when you hit a bump/hole in the road it shakes so bad we have to pull over now. In calling to get it fixed the Ford repairman knew what we were talking about before we said anything, but stated there was no recall on it?? its dangerous!.

66 Wheel problem of the 2014 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 03/22/2021

"death wobble". . . Severe. . . So far 9 times!!! 8 times while traveling at 70+ mph and once at 45. Usually happens when on a slight turn to the left and meets a small to medium bump as you pass over a bridge to road connection for example! a small chug hole will set it off too! welcome to houston! so far it has never happened on a straight away. . . Fingers crossed. In my work I tow a 36' travel trailer racking up about 40-60 thousand miles a year! again. . . So far it has not happened while towing! my expenses are adding up trying to repair the problem. . . Replaced the track bar, shocks, stabilizer damper and had the wheels balanced and rotated. . . Nothing so far has worked! every mechanic I have been to all are guessing at a solution. . . Youtube is full of videos on solutions but you need to have pretty deep pockets to try them all. . . None are definitive! as a gm guy all my life I decided to buy a 2014 Ford f350 heavy duty 4 wheel drive. The truck is beautiful inside and out! I love the styling much better than chevy or Dodge! big mistake! after hearing countless advertising commercials drilling into everyone's "built Ford tough" I can tell you "fords" advertising is extremely misleading! as an advertising professional I can tell you that "over promising and under delivering" is the kiss of death! not backing up your product is even worse!!! everyone knows bad news travel ten times faster than good! I would be willing to donate a $1000. 00 towards a nationwide billboard campaign with one message 'don't buy Fords!"! back to gm I go as soon as I can find another sucker to buy this beautiful piece of garbage! however, unlike Ford I have a conscience and would not do that. Instead I will wait see if your class action lawsuit gains traction and a reasonable solution is reached! good luck to you and count me in! kindest regards, don.

67 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 02/27/2021

On multiple occasions over the 5 months I have owned the truck, the front wheels of my 2019 f350 have shuddered violently after crossing minor bumps at normal highway speeds. The shuddering was violent enough to pose a serious threat of an accident. Immediate, rapid deceleration was the only way to regain control. My instinct (just my observation) is that the bumps caused a shudder in the front wheels and if the traction control was engaged that the system engaging made the shuddering worse. The last time and the third time this happened was yesterday 2/27/21 my wife and 2 small children were in the truck with me. De-acceleration, dangerous on a busy interstate on its own, did not stop the shuddering this time, but disengaging the traction control seemed to stop it immediately. I often tow a 30 foot travel trailer on family trips and fortunately the shuddering has not yet happened while towing the camper, but I fear what could happen under such circumstances. I have researched this in Ford forums and have come to know this defect is common with Ford super duty trucks and is know as the f250/350 death wobble and I can tell you that is a very accurate description. I also saw that taking these trucks in for service has not helped other owners and that Ford has failed to address what is obviously a common, dangerous design flaw across multiple years of the super duty line of trucks. I urge the NHTSA to pressure Ford to address this issue immediately.

68 Wheel problem of the 2017 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 02/22/2021

Repeated valve stem leaks in aluminum wheels. First attempted repair on 8/14/2019 at battlefield Ford in culpeper, va (purchasing dealership). Second repair attempt on 2/10/2020 at dealership. Third attempt at repair on 2/22/2021, at this time the dealership reported to me that I now need to replace two of the wheels at my expense.

69 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 02/08/2021

Valve stems are leaking on aluminum wheels due to corrosion between metal valve stem and aluminum wheels. Have been replaced several times by dealers. Some tires leak air at a faster rate. Tires loose air whether stationary or in motion.

70 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 01/30/2021

On the highway at about 55 miles per hour, I hit a rough patch on the road and the truck started shaking violently. The shaking was so violent I thought the front wheels would tear off and I would be involved in a catastrophic accident. I feel very lucky I didn't lose complete control of the truck and be involved in a multi-vehicle accident endangering myself and others. I slowed down and pulled over and the shaking stopped. It happened again a few minutes later. This was/is an extremely dangerous situation.
