Ford F-550 owners have reported 3 problems related to brake master cylinder (under the service brakes category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Brake pedal seemed soft when driving this RV (on a 2014 Ford f53) to storage yard. Four hours after parking, I started the RV to adjust its location and the brake pedal immediately went to the floor. There was no other symptom of trouble, no warning message. Immediately after that, the message center on the dash board warned of ¿low brake fluid¿. We are lucky this happened in the storage yard and not on the road. Ford dealer fixed it under warranty, stating that the relief valve in the brake master cylinder had failed.

Also took vehicle to 2 other repair shops and they have replaced every brake part on the the truck except the master cylinder, abs module, steel lines. The brake pressure to the front and rear wheels was checked at the last failure and they are the same pressure. The rear brakes have been replace about 15 times in 123,000 mile on vehicle. As the consumer attempted to stop the vehicle, the pedal went to the floor and stayed. The master cylinder and slave cylinder had excess were on the pressure plate fingers. The transmission was hard to shift into reverse and low gear. The hard clutch made noise. The clutch company was well aware of Ford's problem and had re-engineered and designed a new package to remedy the problem. There was fuel leaking at the fuel filter, the sway bar was broken, the door ajar light stayed on, engine oil leak, and the gas cap was broken.
