Noises During Shifting problems of the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Takata recall, problems with transmission do no shift as it supposed, bad noise between shifting.

Bad transmission system. Loud shuddering noises all the time, jerking shifts when starting from stop and the car goes to neutral while driving in a highway. Not only annoying but feels unsafe and unreliable.

Purchased this vehicle in July 2013 with a little over 50k miles. Noticed within a couple weeks that it did make some strange noises (rattling, switching, etc. ) particularly when shifting at speeds under 40mph. Had it checked out & nothing could be found wrong at the shop. Fast forward to March 2016 & the noises have got worse & louder, shifting is in no way smooth or normal, & sometimes feels like it is slipping. I have been in maintenance & management for several years & cannot have the wool pulled over my eyes on mechanical matters. Unfortunately though, I am not employed by any Ford entity so it is proving very difficult to actually get this problem resolved. 3 weeks ago I left the car with the local Ford dealership all day to check out the issues we've been seeing. When picked back up, they stated it only needed a programming update. I knew right away that it still wasn't like a normal vehicle but did not seem to be near as rough as before. Already now, it is far worse than ever. When normally accelerating around town/city, the car feels completely unsafe & un-reliable. I am afraid to allow my children to ride in this car which is a terrible feeling! I'm taking back to the dealership the first of this coming week hoping for a solution. We spent quite a bit on an extra warranty that is still in effect for quite a while but nobody seems to want to admit some components are sub-standard in quality. This is very frustrating to have to go through-first time for me. I truly hope that someone will take this issue seriously & address it before people are injured or killed due to the lack of quality that Ford has provided in these vehicles. To anyone considering purchasing any make or year of vehicle with like parts-I would seriously reconsider (truly & honestly). Mileage is now at 93k with 90% all highway miles since ownership (25 miles each way daily highway commute).

Transmission is not shifting right. Had it to the dealership on 3 separate occasions. Stalls out when shifting, losing power while accelerating, often pausing before finally shifting. Transmission shifts when it doesn't need too. Usually in motion is when all of the above takes place. Grinding noise and shudder. Clearly it is the faulty transmission.

In December 2014 I took my 2012 Ford Fiesta to the pacifico Ford dealership for a shutter clutch problem. They "fixed" the problem but my car continues to jerk, stutter, shake when in first gear. The car also makes a noise. I took the car back for a software update in October 2015 but the problems continued. My husband and I were told that there is nothing the dealership can do because it is just how the transmission is made. I was told that it would not cause a problem. I explained that when sitting in traffic it feels like my car is going to stall; it also jerks. The dealership acknowledged this, along with the noise and again told me there was nothing that can be done and that they were changing the transmission in newer models. I have concerns with the transmission, especially since I travel on the highway everyday to and from work and am concerned that the delay in shifting will cause an accident. I am also concerned that the pacifico Ford dealership acknowledged the problem and is doing nothing to help. My warranty it going to expire and my thoughts are that is when Ford will be able to address the problem since they will not be paying for it; I will.

Vehicle has been taken in several times for noise in front of the car and transmission jerking when trying to shift gears ,changing lanes on a highways taking turns and going up and down hills. The clutch system is causing shifting problems and every time I slow down or brake the rattling noise upfront gets louder, I was in the middle of changing lanes when the car jerked gears did not shift and I almost got hit by another car. It is very dangerous and have been getting a run around about getting it fix. The car's electrical system could cause the transmission's electronic controls to shut down or not allow the car to start at all, as I was told by the servicer I looked it up and other cars have the same problem I need assistance as I did my research found there are hundreds of Ford Fiesta that are having the same problems.

When I bought this car from a Ford dealership (used in 2014) I noticed that it shudders when shifting through the gears. I was told this is normal; however it has seem to gotten worse. It now also makes grinding noises along with the shuddering when shifting through the gears. I can't imagine that this is supposed to be normal. I t also jerks when shifting through the lower gears. I have since done research to find that not only are there hundreds of other Ford Fiesta owners that have complained about the same thing, but there is also a class action lawsuit that was filed against Ford for this issue. What is being done to resolve this?.

Vehicle has a powershift automatic transmission that acts like a manual: roll back assist not working properly: vehicle jerking: vehicle lurching at stops: 2nd incident may 2013: same issues added car losing power: November 2014: same issues: transmission drivability issues: roll back issues loss of power issues. March 2015, all same issues: all issues and check engine light on this last time due to transmission circut issue reported continue to fix transmission: continues to break down. The vehcile has never ran "good" always transmission issues: loud noises, car losing power while driving, lurching at stops accelerating at stops, no response to acceleration. Four times in three years in for fixes that do not work. Car is unsafe as the loss of power is now more frequent.
