1 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 09/22/2020

Clutch pedal won't raise. At rest when pushing in the pedal it goes to the floor and will only raise about an inch. When disengaging, the clutch slips. Appears to be a failure of the clutch slave cylinder. This occured at about 66,000 miles. I had it repaired and after fewer than 5000 miles it's happened again.

2 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2020

While driving on a onramp I shifted from 3rd to 4th gear and the clutch pedal was then stuck to the floor and did not come back up, I had to manually pull it back up. While driving down city street I shifted from 2nd to 3rd and the clutch pedal once again stuck to the floor and had to be manually pulled up. All fluids are topped off and not above the maximum line.

3 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2019

Clutch pedal will stay stuck down in manual transmission 6 speed. Intermittent, but repeatable (not every time but doesn't seem to stop happening) prevents car from moving forward when this happens. Clutch is disengaged while this is occurring. Can happen whether shifting stopped or while in motion. Lifting on the clutch pedal by hand (or foot) will reengage the clutch. Has happened when shifting from 1st to 2nd in an intersection, could not proceed under power in any gear till manually (awkwardly) reaching down and lifting pedal while traffic approaching me.

4 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 06/30/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. While driving 40 mph on an incline, the vehicle failed to accelerate. Also, while at a complete stop, the vehicle abruptly jerked and gradually accelerated when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact refrained from driving highways speeds out of concern that the vehicle would lose acceleration and crash. Wyatt johnson Ford (646 thompson lane, nashville, TN 37204, 615-244-3615) was contacted and diagnosed that the clutch and transmission failed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 100,000.

5 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2019

After 45000 miles the clutch pedal started to get stuck on occasion. At 47000 miles the transmission failed with the clutch pedal stuck all the way down in traffic and the transmission was leaking fluid. It ended up being the slave cylinder that needed replacing. Given that I do not drive a lot this failed outside of warranty while many other have gotten it replaced under warranty as it appears to fail on 2014 models between 40000 and 50000 miles.

6 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 05/04/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. While driving approximately 40 mph and approaching a traffic light, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle independently accelerated. Additionally, there were occasions when the vehicle would sputter and vibrate abnormally while being driven. The vehicle was taken to gaudin Ford (located at 6625 w roy horn way, las vegas, nv 89118, (702) 534-3094) where it was diagnosed that the dual clutch installed during the manufacturing process was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.

7 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2016

My vehicle starts shrugging & shivering when I push on the gas pedal. The shiver is at times too hard to control and can't focus on driving. This has been the fourth time with the same clutch issue and the dealer says I got to live with the problem until they get a new clutch ordered which is 21 weeks from now. I have a kid at the back seat and not comfortable to drive.

8 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 03/23/2016

My car never accelerated reliably, especially in lower gears. The transmission would constantly shake and shudder. My wife finally refused to drive it anymore after the car repeatedly responded exceedingly slow to her pressing the gas pedal when trying to cross traffic. She would be stopped, waiting to cross traffic. When there was a long break in traffic, she'd press the gas and car would crawl ahead much more slowly than you'd expect with how far she pressed the gas pedal. Oncoming traffic would then catch up to her and have to slow down until the car eventually made it across. This happened multiple times when I owned the car. The date I note in the "when did this happen" field represents the date I had the first clutch repair done on the car (at 18,756 miles).

9 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2015

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. While driving approximately 30 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle shook violently and jerked forward without warning. While the brake pedal was depressed on an incline, the vehicle drifted backwards and crashed into a tree. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000. The VIN was unavailable.

10 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2015

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5 mph, the vehicle jerked and hesitated when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch assembly, fuel assembly, plate cylinder, cylinder assembly and transmission fluid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 7,000. Jo.

11 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2014

2014 Ford Fiesta se with about 15,000 miles started having shuttering problems that are extremely violent and could cause loss of control and is thought to be a safety concern to driver and others on road. I have owns this car since brand new from the dealership. I started having problems with the powertrain around 14000 miles. The problem is a severe shutter problem when you accelerate. The only way to stop this problem when it is happening is to let the gas pedal out of give it a lot more gas. This can happen at any speed from 5 mph to 50 mph that I have experienced it. The shutter jerks the driver forward and backward very forcefully. I took the car in under warranty and was told that the this is normal and sent back home. At 15000 miles I took the car in and they said the dual clutch seal was leaking and therefore ruined the clutch. They replaced all parts and called to say it was complete. They left voicemail, and when I called dealership back they said the new parts had broke while on the test drive and they had to order exact parts again. Dealership took another few days to fix and then I received the car. Now Feb 2015 car is doing exact same thing and has 24000 miles on. The shuttering is a safety concern as it could result in my wife or I loosing control of the vehicle when it does this at high speed. I do not understand how this does not cause a safety violation? thanks for your time.
