The contact's son owns a 2017 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that the vehicle's alarm would activate sporadically on its own. Additionally, the hood latch warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the only way to turn the alarm off was to detach the vehicle's battery. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, it was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.
