1 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 08/01/2020

About the middle of last year I noticed the problem while driving,so I stopped driving it. About two months ago I tried to start my car and the vehicle shut down completely for the second time and I had it towed to the Ford dealership in southgate, they said that Ford motor told them to reset the software in the car, they did and got it running again. They also told me that there was a clutch problem and that was causing the engine light to be on. What they didn't tell me was that NHTSA and Ford motor had a recall to fix the transmission clutch shudder/transmission input shaft seal which has a warranty extension for free, they told me it would cost me over $2000 dollars to have fix. The field service action number is 14m01 and the fsa tittle is transmission control module extended warranty coverage. I bought this car in January 2018 from dick genthe Chevrolet and have not been able to drive it safely since the middle of 2019. Until now,I tried to get them to take the car back, and they would not. I would like for Ford motor company and their dealership to fix my car for free or give me a 2018 in it's place with a minimum payment of 158. 12 which is what I'm still paying for the 2011 Ford Fiesta. Thank you for your time in addressing this safety issue. I would like to feel safe in my car when I'm driving.

3 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 10/26/2018

For the past few months I've been trying to figure out what's been happening with my vehicle. I have a 2011 Ford Fiesta. It is a manual. I'm not stalling it, but when I'm driving- whether I'm stopped or actually moving (even at 45 + mph) it will completely shut off. The rpms sometimes fall 2-300 below randomly but will come back and keep going. However, when they fall and for whatever reason the vehicle can't figure out that the rpms should be higher, it shuts off completely. When it actually shuts off I have no warning. . Read more...

4 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2015 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 04/14/2016

Occasionally while driving and stopped at stop signals the car shuts off. The car also occasionally shuts off when slowing down. The car always shuts off shortly after fueling, this may occur between 1-4 times after fueling. There has also been oil slowly accumulating around the engine block near the top of the block near the valve cover.

5 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 04/04/2016

Many times with in the last few months my Ford 2012 feista will just turn off while driving, it does not matter if its hot or cold, flat driving or mountain driving. The car really does not perform well in traffic situations, and the failure occurs more during stop and go type of driving. When this happens the engine malfunction light will turn on. At that time you have to turn the ignition switch off and restart the car, sometimes the signal will turn off, sometimes it does not. This failure has happened in the middle of intersections, on the freeway or just driving through town. The car will shutter sometimes before it shuts off, or just starts to stall. When this happens I am able to move to the shoulder or pull off the road to restart the car. This failure of the car just stopping while running while has a high potential of me being in an auto accident. Since this failure happens at any time and cannot be predicted I take my life and my families lives in danger every time we get into this car. I can only take guesses at what the problem is, it could be the fuel injection, transmission, or some type of engine misfire. I have had nothing but problems with car since we bought it. I have read many complaints of this type of failure for this vehicle when reading reviews. It is my hope this issue can become a recall or that Ford will take action.

6 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 09/27/2013

The engine stalled the first time two days ago on 9/27/2013. The car shut off on the road and I had to restart the car. Also it shakes when you press the accelerator and this has always happened. Yesterday while I was going over a bridge the car stalled so bad that it would not accelerate at all to go over the bridge, the rpm gauge wiggled very bad back and forth and the car began to slide back down the bridge. This is a very dangerous situation. I have taken the car to Ford and they claim this is how the car is supposed to act. I live in jacksonville, FL and being able to accelerate when getting on and off ramps onto the interstate is crucial when merging with traffic but if the car stalls and does not actually move and you are trying to yield and merge with oncoming traffic, anyone can see that this is a potential hazard and very dangerous. My next step is to file a lemon law lawsuit and get Ford to take the car back because they will are not able to duplicate the problem while it is in their repair shop and therefore will not fix it. My best friend has the same car and complains about the same exact issue. Her car shuts off several times a week so she is going to also file a complaint. Before I purchased this car I had a old beat up 1995 Ford ranger and I never had these issues. I have been to Ford over 3 times about this issue and they continue to say "sir this is how the car is supposed to act" even the receptionist stated when I called to set up yet another appointment to have Ford look at the car "wow. . . That does seem very dangerous we need to get you in here ASAP" this is not the only incident I have had with Ford. . I will not even stress on that issue. However this one is very important to me due to the fact I do not even feel safe driving my car to the local store.
