Beginning in early may, my vehicle would lose all power and go into "limp" mode while driving. The "wrench" warning light appeared and I pulled over into the nearest parking lot. The owner's manual indicate it was a powertrain problem and needed to be taken to a dealership. When I started the vehicle, the light was no longer on and it ran normally. A few days later, same problem. This happened about 50% of the time I would drive it. Driving, lose power, wrench light appears, pull over, turn off car, restart, all normal. It was extremely frustrating and at times scary when this would occur at highway speeds. When taking the vehicle to the dealer, they could not pull codes because the wrench light was not actively on at the time I would get there. Finally, one morning, light comes on, power is lost and I alter my plans for the day to drive straight to the repair shop, leave the car run and demand that they pull the codes right then and there because if I turned it off, it would reset and I'd be stuck driving it again until the cycle repeated itself. They were able to pull 5 codes and I ended up paying $822. 08 for a throttle body w/sensor, throttle body gasket, and pedal. Of course, at 40,000 miles, nothing is covered under warranty any longer. The most frustrating part of this is searching online and discovering that this is an extremely common problem for Ford owners since 2011. At one time, Ford even avoided a recall to correct the problem, by offering an extended warranty to those customers who had yet to have their throttle body fail. It is clear that Ford merely wanted to avoid the bad publicity of a recall by this action. Ford has not corrected the problem, thousands of people still have to bear the cost of these repairs. This is a safety and consumer protection issue. Make Ford recall this part and protect consumers!.

My vehicle's "door ajar" sensor will not turn off even when all doors are securely closed. This is resulting in my lights staying on for a very long time and the worst thing is that my doors won't stay locked at anytime. What's happening now is that when I lock the doors after exiting the car, the alarm will go off after a certain period of time, therefore, I have to leave the car unlocked or keep an ear out for it. I have tried manually locking the doors while I'm driving and the door locks will automatically unlock themselves. I don't feel safe knowing that someone could just jump in my car or open one of my back doors where my two children sit. I'm also fearful of my battery dying as a direct result of my dome lights staying on for such a long time every single day. I'm dreading the thought of this happening while with my kids and being left stranded. I wish Ford would take this issue more serious. There is absolutely no need for something tragic to happen in order for corrective action to be taken.

Door sensor working intermittently on passenger side. Especially when cold outside, passenger door is closed but car thinks it is open, will not allow automatically locking of doors, which represents a safety hazard. Doors can be locked manually but all doors remain unlocked or spring unlocked when "door lock" switch is pressed.
The driver side door does not lock. The mechanism that recognizes that the driver side door is closed doesn't work. When the car is turned on and subsequently when the vehicle comes to a stop or very slow speed (like a stop sign or light) the alarm sounds again (a pinging sound with a visual alert that the door is open with an message to shift to park). However, no matter how many times the door is opened and shut, the alarm doesn't go off. This means that doors do not automatically lock when the car is put into gear. When the vehicle attempts to automatically lock the doors when the car is put into gear, the lock immediately snaps back up because of the door warning. Even manually locking the door doesn't work because of the alarm. This is a safety concern both when driving but also when stationary. I want to be able to lock my car doors in the event there are safety concerns nearby so that no one can get into the car while we are in a parking lot or at a light. I mentioned this to the Ford dealer while the car was still under warranty but they said they would charge $300 just to look at it.
