Consumer states while driving 45mph had extended stopping and heard a grinding noise. Nlm.
While driving the 2000 Ford Focus down a 35 mph road I proceeded to brake to a stop when front driver's side wheel assembly collapsed, causing car to skid out of control. It came to a stop after hitting a parked car.
At any speed there's a roaring noise coming from driver side. Took vehicle to Ford, and they stated that brakes needed to be cleaned. Consumer feels it is the wheel bearing. Please provide any further information.
Brakes constanly sqeak. This is the second time consumer is having them repaired.
Brakes failed. Proceeded to stop sign, pressed the brake to stop, grinding and clanking noises heard, car would not slow down and car went completely through stop sign. Had to use emergency brake to stop the car. Car is at dealership and requires both brake pad and rotor replacement. Brakes have squeaked since I took the car off the lot brand new.
I was driving down a main road, when a car suddenly swerved in front of me. I was only driving about 25-28mph, yet the brakes would not stop, though I pressed down on them. Luckily, the driver who had swerved in front of me, noticed that I was unable to stop, so she sped up considerably. If it wouldn't have been for that, I would have definitely crashed into her. I have reported this brake problem to the dealership on several occasions and they tell me that their "all points check" indicates that everything is okay. Two weeks after I purchased my car, it began making extremely loud squeaking noises when the brakes were pressed. Yet, no one wants to help me. I told them that I wanted another car, because this vehicle is obviously defective and they told me that I'd have to pay $3,000 to break my lease. I explained that it is not for luxury reasons that I want my vehicle replaced, but for safety reasons. They still continue to bully me around, because I'm a young, single female. Though this car has so many problems, I sometimes choose to disregard them, because I would prefer to avoid any interaction with the dealership. They are so manipulative and heartless. Please document this, as I have complained many times, to no avail. Thank you.
I asked Ford to look at my brakes at 12, 541 miles because they were squealing. I was told that the noise was normal, so no action was taken. Now, at 24, 643 miles, my brake pads and rotors are completely worn, and Ford will not take any action to remedy this situation.
I was approaching a stop light and was more than 10 car lengths behind the car in front of me when I attempted to apply my brakes. I depressed the pedal but nothing happened. I applied more and more pressure until they finally engaged near the floor and locked. I tried to avoid the car in front of me and slid along side so I did not impact directly in the back. I had damage to the left front of my car and to the right rear of the other car. I want to see if similar reports have been filed with NHTSA. Please contact me.
Brake problems; there is a lot of noise when applying brakes. Contacted dealer, and dealer was not willing to do anything.
While applying brakes vehicle accelerated suddenly and unexpectedly, resulting in a collision. Dealer is inspecting vehicle.
When driving and using brakes vehicle makes a squeaking noise, took to dealer and they said it was normal. Metal that brakes are made of causes brakes to make this type of noise.

I've had my Focus for 1 1/2 yr. All I've had is problems with the squeaking brakes I've had to get my rotors & brakes replaced @ 15000 miles. In the past since I got the vehicle I've taken it to get ck & services to my Ford dealer near by I have requested each time to please ck the brakes, they makes a noise and everytime they told me everything was ok wthe vehicle. At one point I was told the vehicle is just made that way. When I took my vehicle to the Ford service dept I was told my brakes & rotors were out & I needed major repairs that cost me over $900. 00. At this point I did contact Ford I explained what was happing to me, they didn't care at all. Now again in Nov/01i had the rotors & brakes replaced and now it's Jan/02, I'm having problems again my car is shaking when I apply my brakes, you can hear squeaking noise again,I'm not happy, it's very unsafe when I'm driving. I have the vehicle again in the Ford service center. I have to pay & miss work for this & I can't get anyone attention. Please let me know what I can do . I feel I'm driving a lemon. Please help, is there a law againt who makes defective vehicles to take responsabitly?.

I have had 6 recalls on this car since my purchase date of Dec 11, 1999. Also I took my car to have the brakes checked on Dec 07, 2000 and I was told I would be called when the parts to fix my brakes became available. Today is 02-05-01 and I have not received a call yet. I am not pleased with this car and I would like to be released from my lease. I can not afford to keep taking off work or changing my schedule because this car keeps being recalled. Thank you.
When applying brakes pedalwent all the way to the floor and there was no connection. Dealership was aware of problem.
