Clutch and actuators , car only has 80,000 miles. $3500 transmission repair .
Check engine light came on. Before I had a chance to get it checked, the engine wouldn't start after refueling until trying on the fourth time. Took the car to a parts store and the code read p1450. An October 25, 2018 recall acknowledged a problem with 2012-18 Ford Focuses with a 2. 0l engine. Although this problem is clearly acknowledged with this same year, model, and engine, my VIN is allegedly not covered in the recall. Dealer will not service the car under the recall.
Two weeks after purchasing vehicle from a used car dealer, started having severe transmission shudders and car shut down stating the transmission was in need of repair. Had vehicle towed to dealership where diagnosis determined transmission needs replacing. Upon researching on line,, cars. Com states NHTSA vehicle safety recall was issued for the transmission and also “copilot” states on line that a recall was issued on this vehicle power shift transmission,,, only two of many complaints on line about the transmission in 2013 Ford Focus . . However Ford states there is no safety recall . . Only an extended warranty customer satisfaction warranty for transmission clutch slippage ,, which ended last August , campaign #14m01. . . What am I to do ? . . . The price quoted for a new clutch exceeds the value of the car. . . .
When I drive in the rain my car will sputter and lose speed. The oil light and battery light turns on and it dies. I can get it to turn over but it immediately dies. I have had to get it towed twice. Still can't figure out the problem.
I was driving on the freeway at the posted speed of 65 mph when the car engine rpm dropped to 2000 and then back up to 4000 the car immediately slowed to 50 mph causing traffic behind me to slam in their brakes. The car wouldn't shift to speed up causing me to pull over and creep to a gas station.
Transmission transmission transmission the car jerks and the clutch is messed up. I've had nothing but issues with the transmission, clutch, repeated recalls.
Transmission seems to be slipping as if the gears are not catching during certain times of shifting. Engine seems to lose compression. Mechanic after mechanic seems to have a hard time diagnosing and repairing issues.
I started the car and the steering assist fault alert came up and the steering wheel was locked in place. I turned the car off and back on and there was no longer an issue. The car also jerks when accelerating quickly. This has been an ongoing issue that the dealership claims to have repaired.
Recall performed on purge valve. . . . Still cant breath inside the cabin from the fumes. . . Was told it the cat converter. . . . . 1550 before tax ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly; 4 - VIN corrected, error in one position only (indicated by ! in suggested VIN), multiple matches found; 14 - unable to provide information for all the characters in the VIN. #vpic#.
I took my Ford Focus 2013 into the Ford dealership on June 2020. There was a recall for the door latches 20s30 code. The dealership said they took care of it. I just checked online and it?s hasn?t been fixed. It?s been almost a year and we?ve been driving it with a newborn baby not knowing that they haven?t fixed the recall.
While driving the lights come on the dashboard and the car stops automatically and the car doesn't turn on for while, then after two hours it turns on and I drive it for another five days and that happens again almost an in crash or I was very lucky for a very bad accident and I called a tow truck to send my car home and since then is undrivable which is parked in my house.
El vehculo empeso a jolonearse en carretera y fue perdiendo la fuerza y a otro da ya no agarro la reversa y para enfrente velosidad que agarraba era a 5.
When driving the vehicle it causes a stuttering movement from a stop. When pressing the gas from a stopped position it starts to shake upon acceleration. The car almost feels like the transmission is slipping and may cause the vehicle to stop. I feel that I and my children are unsafe when this happens!!!.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the check engine and service now warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing spark plug and the fuel injector to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact also stated that the vehicle was started and the parking aid fault, serviced required warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
I've had transmission problems since purchasing the car. Two days ago the car would not go into reverse and the engine light came on - it was stuck in the garage at this time. I was finally able to get the car to reverse and the light went off a few hours later. Yesterday the car, again, would not reverse and the engine light came back on. This time it was stuck in a parking lot. After many attempts, some of which lead to the car not starting at all, the car finally turned on, and reversed after roughly half an hour. This morning I took the car to webb Ford in highland, in for repairs as the transmission has a 100,000 mile warranty. The dealership said they are backed up for over 2 weeks and would not even let me leave my car. The nest closest dealer in calumet city, IL is not taking transmission work at all. Now, after leaving work, my car will not go over 15mph without jerking and chugging and it seems that I have no way to get the transmission fixed even though it's under warranty because no one will take my car.
The car, is now , beginning to not start,. Which I suppose that doesn't matter since the transmission is still completely out, I wish Ford would fix it, or go ahead and allow me to collect on the settlement.
Starting to drive car hesitates and vibrates.

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford taurus. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). The recall repair was performed by maxwell Ford (5000 s ih 35 frontage rd, austin, TX 78745, (512) 443-5000). After the repair, the check engine indicator illuminated. The contact called the dealer back and was informed to take the vehicle to an independent mechanic. The contact stated that the failure may be due to the catalytic converter, which failed prior to the recall repair. When the contact took the vehicle to the dealer for the recall repair, the dealer stated that the catalytic converter was not related to the recall. The failure mileage was 122,000.
2013 Ford Focus jerks while accelerating, was told recall was for extended warranty only via kindle Ford. Also the trunk no longer opens, but beeps when car is on saying the trunk is open. Was told this was a recall in 2017 that was fixed before we purchased the vehicle, but now it's up to us to pay for it.
While turning a corner my car vibrates and shakes and hear as if metal is hitting underneath. When pushing on gas to go, the car will jerk. Doesn't want to rev like it needs to. Will shake aggressively when braking. Have to let off gas then push back down on it to make it stop shaking. Also vibrates when in park intensely.
I was driving down the road and my car battery light came on and I lost power to my gas and brake system. . . Before this every time I put gas into it . . . . It acts like going to stale.
My car was on recall about the transmission and the gas they only fix the gas leak but they say they don't have the part for the transmission.
Since I bought the car new in 2013, it has hesitated and shuddered badly, especially when beginning to move from a stop and when shifting from first to second gear. People who ride in the car always ask me what's wrong with it. I have taken it back to the Ford dealer repeatedly, but the service manager has always claimed he doesn't feel anything out of the ordinary. He says it's just the automatic transmission shifting gears. Once I got so exasperated I took it back and took the service manager for a ride in it myself. It shuddered and hesitated badly during the entire ride. He still claimed he couldn't feel anything unusual. Twice when I have been driving it, the car has shifted itself from drive into neutral and the vehicle has coasted to a stop, totally without power. When I took it back to the dealer after these occurrences, the service manager has said that it is simply impossible for a car to shift itself from drive into neutral. I have responded that it very clearly is possible for a car to shift itself from drive into neutral, because the car he sold me has done it twice now when I have been driving it. The last time we spoke, I pointed out to the service manager that his dealership sold me a car I can't drive on the freeway for fear of losing power doing 70 miles an hour with a large truck right behind me and being run over. I also pointed out that they sold me a car that I can't in good conscience allow my wife and kids to drive. I asked him to make it right. He replied that the car is perfectly safe and that it is completely up to me if I choose not to drive it in freeway traffic, at high speeds, or let my wife and kids drive it. Clearly, Ford and its dealers have no intention of 'doing the right thing' here. I trust that NHTSA finally will.
This Focus has gave me nothing but problems . I've had it for almost 4 years in January. And it's left me stranded numerous times multiple trips to the delership lets not get started on how awful they are. I'm going to trade it in . Never will I buy another Ford !!.
I purchased my brand new 2013 Ford Focus, from the dealer in may of 2013. I took it back a week later because it was "clunky" when accelerating. The Ford dealership told me "the car just needs to learn how you drive, we will reset the computer". Since then I have had it "reset" 4 times and am on my 3rd clutch repair. Last week while braking my car decided to accelerate instead. This is the 4th time in a year, one resulting in a bumper on bumper accident with minimal damage. I dont feel safe driving my car, I commute two hours a day. Ford should be ashamed of themselves! if the I had been told back in 2013 when I purchased that there was an issue I would have traded that car the first week.
Drove to work fine, on my way home, alert comes on steering wheel fault and then I can barely turn the wheel. I panic and pull into auto zone, which they say I may need power steering fluid so I buy a bottle. Look in the car book to see where to put it, turns out this car isnt equip with that, I have an esp! get in the car again and everything is fine no alert and I can drive it fine. Next day I go to drive and again I have an alert and can not drive!!! this is my 1st car ever and in the 2yrs I've had it nothing but recalls on it! this needs to be a recall to many are complaining about the same issue. What if this happen on a highway!?!?! on top of this I'm still waiting for a fix to the gas gauge issue, and the transmission was supposedly fix but it's still doing the same thing after a full stop, it has a hard time going again!!!!! I will never by a Ford vehicle again.
Transmission system on dash doesn't recognize car is in park or any changes in gear. It refuses to start (or even crank).
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle decelerated and stalled. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into gear. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch pedal, transmission, canister purge valve, injectors, and spark plugs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
My 2013 Ford Focus has an issue with a stuttering/shuddering type feeling. When I am stopped and then begin to try and accelerate is when the problem occurs. This has been very dangerous at times when I am entering traffic after being stopped. My car does not get to proper speed quickly enough.
I just got the car from dealership with financing it, they didn't know notify me, that there was an unfixible recall!!! I am a single mom, it was my long way to getting a car, I want it be safe for me and my daughter, I don't, it won't even last 6 years, I am really upset!!!! please fix ingeen light pops on, hatchback opens, airbag is pff.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Focus. While driving various speeds, the check engine indicator illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle began to jerk, hesitate, and the transmission would not switch into second gear. The vehicle was taken to Ford autonation (2 auto center dr, tustin, CA) where it was diagnosed that the transmission lever assemblies, the engine cylinder, and the transmission clutch were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 129,000.
The transmission has been giving us problems since we got the vehicle. Right now, it is again in the shop. It is repaired and then there is another problem with the same system. When we take it into the shop, numerous problems show up. We have had the vehicle for only a little over a year so it would seem to indicate that there are serious problems.
Since ive purchased my Ford Focus back in 2013 I have taken the car back to Ford dealership on numerous occasions in relation to the faulty transmission and electrical issues. On my 5th attempt my transmission was replaced. This was around the end of 2017 to 2018. On may 2nd 2019 I was driving to work and as soon as I turned on the car the windsheild wipers started to go off and for some reason I could not turn them off. Once I arrived onto my work campus I turned the cornee to park my car. . . When all of a sudden my car flashed an error message on my dash stating the following, " transmission failure repair now". I calmly parked the car and within seconds of turning off the car I see smoke and then flames from the bottom of my engine hood. I quickly exited the car abd the flames got bigger and bigger. The fire department was called and the had to smash the back window due to the flames that had over taken the front of the car. Unfortunetly my car is not a total loss. I was at the end of my contract agreement with Ford and inly having to pay 6400 left on my loan. Ive called their customer service to complain and see what can be done and was told I would get a letter in 2 weeks by their legal council. This has caused me to delay my entry into nursing school since now I have to work to handle the car the new car I just had to buy. I need transportation for work and Ford took that from me. Ive now seeked out a lawyer to see what can be done. With all the times I asked for help and I ended up seeing my car go up in smoke. Im just so thankful I was able to get out iof the car in time. But believe me im still shaken and this has caused me to never buy Ford again.
There is an engine check light on my dash bord and when I driving on the highway the engine completely shut off two times by this wk. And also when I driving up hill the car force becomin weak.
