Check Engine Light On problems of the 2014 Ford Focus

I have two recalls on my Ford Focus 2014. Ford refuses to fix the tcm due to the transmission shifts. I brought my car in with issues dealing with the TSB revolving around the engine wiring harness and told them my car battery died and it couldn't reverse now brought it to get the work done which I thought included them looking at why it could not reverse I paid them over 1,300 dollars to fix this issues and then after I pull off and notice my check engine light is still on I bring it back inside and they hit me with OH the transmission needs a diagnostic after I paid them a substantial amount I want them to give me my money back.

I have had so much trouble with this car I am upside down on it. Now all the electrical stuff seems to be shorting. I was driving and my fuel gauge kept going to zero then back up to half a tank. Then my check engine light came on. My horn doesn't work which is is huge safety concern for me those are just the new issues I also have had the tcm replaced twice and it never made a difference to the car.

Upon investigation the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer had been informed of failure and was told that since the dealer cleared the vehicle from the recall they couldn't do anything. The failure mileage was approximately 73,000.

Previously got recalls fixed on the car which fixed all stalling problems. 3 months later I go to drive and while in motion it starts stalling and the check engine light comes on and stays on.

About two weeks after purchasing my pre-owned 2014 Ford Focus, I started to experience some slight jerking whenever I pressed on the accelerator pedal. The jerking gradually got worse and I continued to drive to my home. My car stopped suddenly when I was traveling uphill on a highway. I had to sit and wait for a few minutes before I was able to keep driving. When I finally arrived home, I turned my car off and went in. I came back later to go somewhere and my car wouldn't start. I resolved to leave it be since it was the weekend and dealerships were closed. The next day my car started, but the jerking remained and now my check engine light was on. I drove with it for the time being because the dealership (Toyota) that I purchased it from said they couldnt look into my possible transmission issues because I didn't purchase the extended warranty. I finally looked pretty deep into the issue and found there was a recall on the car I purchased and that many people experienced the same exact problems as I have.

The contact stated that she received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was taking to the #1 cochran Ford located at 110 rte 908 building 1, natrona heights, PA 15065, where the technician was unable to repair the vehicle. The technician stated that a diagnostic trouble code was not present. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Have been experiencing major jerking and stuttering when car change from 1st to 2nd gear. Really have to press on gas for it to accelerate. Very dangerous for when trying to merge lanes on freeway. It has shut off twice on different occasions and would not restart. Check engine light just turned on at 89,000 miles. Extremely uncomfortable with driving it due to these problems. There were occasions where I could not accelerate and cars were close to crashing into me.

The contact stated that the vehicle also experienced stalling during a stop. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the mass airflow sensor to be damaged. The vehicle was repaired but within two days the problem reoccurred. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by a dealer nor has the manufacturer been notified. Ep.

Multiply safety recalls and I took to 2 different dealerships, but dealerships refused to do or to fix my car. Now my check engine light is on again. Code reader has 2 codes 1450 and 144a. Needs to be repaired, but dealership filed a false report stating the recalls were already done. It is not the case. The only recall that was done was for the door latches. The purse valve and fuel sensors still need to be fixed.

Started in 2015 transmission shuddered/vibrated/hesitation on highway, lack of power, car would jerk like I had been it on highway, onboard computer was re programed in October of 15 and again in Jan of 17. Car is not storing computer codes when it acts up. On 7/17/18 the check engine light comes on I called dealer got an appointment for 7/17/18, check engine light had gone off before the dealer saw the car, and the on board computer did not store a code for them to figure it out. When I left the dealer I did not get a block when the check engine light came back on and the car started jerking, I pulled into a parking lot to turn around and go back to the dealer however the car would not go into reverse, I tried a half dozen time to back up including turning off the engine. The car next to me left and I was able to make a u turn, by the time I got back to the dealer they were closed. I brought the car back the next morning they were able to retrieve to code and replace the transmission control module. In August of 18 one day leaving the gas station when I put the car into drive all it did was rev the engine another time when I backed out of my parking place and tried to drive away it would not go into drive. This happened again in December. Lately I have a problem where the engine will rev up while driving on the highway, it usually is only for a few seconds. The rpm's would double when this happened. On 12/7/18 this happened again, however I had to take my foot of the accelerator in order for the engine to stop the revving. The revving of the engine is not on specific dates, however happens once or twice a week usually on the highway.

Purchased used on 11/30/2018. While driving on freeway, car suddenly lost power, could not restart, had to pull to side of road and wait for assistance during heavy traffic. Second time, same thing happened hile driving on freeway only I was able to continue at aprox. 15 mph to exit ramp and wait for assistance. Same symptoms during in-town driving: stalling, won't restart, won't shift into next gear- stuck going 10-20 mph, check engine light on took in for diagnostics: obd code p902.

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that when at a stop, the vehicle accelerated and jerked when in park. The check engine light illuminated. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the sawgrass Ford dealer (954-851-9000, located at 14501 w sunrise blvd, sunrise, FL 33323) where the technician was unable to diagnosed the failure. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and the power clutch was replaced. The failure recurred and the technician stated that nothing could be done. The contact picked up the vehcle. The failure recurred at a parking lot and the vehicle was towed back to the same dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure and told the contact that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The failure recurred and the vehicle shut down in a bumper to bumper traffic. The vehicle was towed back to the same dealer who diagnosed and replaced the power shifter. The failure recurred the next day and the vehicle was towed back to the same dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and offered to buy-back or for the contact to make a down payment for a new vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000. Fe.

Transmission faulty . Car wont reverse . Car drags when trying to accelerate. I also received a court notice in the mail regarding powershift dual-clutch automatic transmission problems. My check engine light came on. Notifications appeared on my car saying transmission problem service ASAP.

The first incidence (2/26/18) was while stopped on a highway off-ramp, the engine stalled. The car was able to be restarted and driven. On a second occasion (2/28/18), I was driving and in motion on a residential street when the engine shut off. The brakes and steering was not affected and I was able to stop the car and restart the engine. Prior to this, the check engine light came on and I had scheduled service on the car for 3/7/18 (the earliest they had available). The car has had multiple transmission replacements in the few short years that I have owned it.

Lower arm w/balls and joints x 2 motor mount check engine light for p0420 catalyst and clutch and transmission jerking and hesitation and radio not working and I called 1800 number to Ford and at this time could not help me and woman stated she reported to NHTSA #cas13448516 and also stated to call dealership which is balise ready credit in springfield mass.

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The owner stated that vehicle has trouble starting every time it rains and it hesitates when the gears are manually shifted. The vehicle failed to start and the check engine light came on. The vehicle was towed to crouse Ford 11 antrim blvd, taneytown, MD 21787 where it was diagnosed as a possible flood car. The contact did not received maryland inspection papers when she bout the vehicle. The manufacturer has been notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 38500.

Car hesitates and shutters when driven. This is worse at lower speeds or when turning. This happens both on the highway and on city streets. It's been serviced 4 times for this issue, each time the module requires reprogramming, but the problem persists. Recently the check engine soon light had been on. We've been to the dealer and they repaired it, but the engine light has turned on again only 5 days after the last repair. I've checked and the Focus has 5 different active recalls, 2 of them with regards to power train, but this car seems to be excluded from them at this time.

Additionally, while at a stop, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate or accelerated and decelerated independently. The vehicle revved up with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact called keller motors (700 Cadillac ln, hanford, CA 93230, (559) 582-1000) and was informed that there was no transmission technician at the location. The vehicle was taken to will tiesiera Ford (2101 e cross Ave, tulare, CA 93274, (559) 688-7471) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission clutch and module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 103,772.

2014 Ford Focus st with manual transmission when decelerating to a stop sign or stop light (approx 20-10 mph), and engaging the clutch to coast with the car in neutral, the car will almost stall (drops to about ~500 rpm) and then the engine "catches itself" and will rev to 1000-1200 rpm before settling back to a normal 700-800 rpm idle. This happens at random, but "ac/on" also increases likelihood of occurrences. This happens every trip. I stopped counting after 12 events in the first seven days. The car also "hunts" for it's idle speed (with a warmed engine) and varies from 700-1000 rpm, apparently at random. There is already a Ford TSB for this, TSB# 13-09-07, but it can only be accomplished if an engine completely shuts down and throws a check engine light/code. Due to the fact that this could completely shut off an engine while stopping near other motorists, like the recent gm ignition issue, I believe Ford should recall all these vehicles. It is a 45 minute repair and approx $8 dollars in parts to repair two "crimped wire connections" in the main wiring harness, (s132 & s133). They need to be soldered, not crimped (6 bare copper wires overlaid together and crimped). I have been to two Ford dealerships but they are under strict Ford guidelines not to accomplish the TSB unless there is a check engine light/code. I even offered to pay for the repair and was turned away both times. I believe it is better to accomplish this TSB and remove the concern than to wait for an owner safety issue leading to engine shut down and an accident. While driving on the freeway the car began to decelerate, gas pedal was non responsive. Traveling approximately 60-65 mph in 5th gear. Deceleration occurred in 5th gear. Was only able to maintain speed in 4th gear, but was unable to go any faster than 50- 55 mph with gas pedal to the floor. Vehicle displayed some shuddering and slight sputter effect. If vehicle was placed back into 5th gear deceleration would continue. Tachometer showed 3000 rpm regardless of gear placement. No warning lights, or check engine lights. Two days later vehicle had the same symptom but only momentarily.
