general problems of the 2014 Ford Focus - part 2

My main concern now is the dash board message that reads ( steering loss stop safely ) I have lost all power steering of my car and cannot drive it. I almost had a wreck when this happened. The car is now parked waiting to find out if this a defect as was on earlier models of this same model. I am also experiencing gas gauge is irregular readings before and after driving as well as very poor gas mileage code p1450.

The car shut down after I full it up will gas I wont start u have to want a min them the car fill start.

I know exactly what's wrong because it's a recall that's on certain Ford Focuses of this year but apparently not mine for some reason even though I have the problem but it's the emissions control valve that's stuck open my car stalls out after I fuel. I'm having an extreme loss of power sometimes just being me having to push the pedal more down to losing all acceleration all together to where it shuts down the cruise control when I'm on the highway. It's running real rough on idle all of which are signs of this recall but because it's not covered under my car I'm having to pay $100 just to put the car in the shop to have them look at it and tell me what I already know and then I'm going to have to pay whatever it costs to repair it which I'm sure it's going to be 3 to $500 for a problem they've already admitted to lying about before and obviously are lying about now when they say that this series of Ford Focus 2014 was not affected so now I have to pay out of pocket for being a Ford customer so I hope it's worth it to them to lose me as a customer for the rest of my life because of something that would have cost them two or $300. And my family for generations have been lifelong Ford buyers my family is well known at our local trotter Ford my grandparents literally buy a new car every year and say they're taking their business elsewhere after finding out about this so I don't see where they think they're saving money by lying like they are.

Ongoing electrical issues that may or may not be related. Vehicle will "stall" while in motion or while powered on but stopped at a light for example. It's an electric vehicle so the cause of the stall is unclear. Vehicle will be inoperable for 1-10 minutes, including power steering while the system resets. This happens usually at slow speeds or while stopped - in reverse, climbing hills, stopped at traffic lights. The problem was "fixed" in October 2019 and we were told that something doing while addressing one of the electrical recalls had caused the problem. Now it's happening again and Ford can't tell us why. We've been stranded pulling out of our driveway in the path of on coming traffic, blocking one lane roads in our neighborhood and at intersections.

The vehicle stalls out at the red lights while waiting for the light to turn green. The vehicle completely shuts down. Then my daughter has to put on the hazard (she is 17) and put it park, then pray the vehicle starts again. Just had the 2 recalls done however was told we need by a purge valve which I found online with these year models when I look up 2014 Ford Focus shutting down during waiting for a red light. It also struggles to get in 1st and 2nd gear. It shutters and jumps. Once you get the vehicle over 40-50 mph on the road it feels okay but when you have to come to a complete stop, good luck. My daughter is terrified to drive the vehicle. When I went to walker Ford, I was told there was nothing they can do about this issue however its all over the internet. What can I do to help my 17 year old daughter feel more comfortable driving?.

I was driving home when out of nowhere, my vehicle is starting to stall and I kept punching the gas and it was like the key was off. Luckily, even tho I was in traffic, I was in the right hand lane and there was a shoulder I was able to pull over on. You can turn it over and it quickly stalls. When I got my vehicle to be code read, it said ,�no fuel delivered to the fuel rail. � I could have caused or been in a horrible wreck if luck had not been that I was close to a shoulder to pull over at. I was on the highway driving in multiple lanes this is a safety issue.

Transmission kept overheating; would not move when in reverse and gas amount inaccurate, car jerks when gas pedal is pressed and it stalls when it turns on.

Nhtsa recall 18v-735 and code p0606 indicates a fault in the ecm/pcm /p06b8 internal control module transaction.

I want to fine a complaint against the Ford dealer. I have approximately 3 months with problem. It's because of gas evaporations. I had with me a latter that Ford send me to me for recall which I had to have it repaired and they want to charge me for it. Supposedly they repaired that, when they never did and proof of this is that there is the problem as well as the transmission they just marked done and they never did I, because I don't have the problem before and now I have it. They don't want to repaired those 2 factory failures. I want to see what can I do to they fix it at not cost since. It's a factory failure and I'm not the only one with that problem. That is a serious problem they said that in the latter they send me. I send you a picture I had. They took the another one.

While driving on highway my rpm will fluctuate up and down. Rpm's will raise high while my speed doesn't increase. My steering wheel pulls to the left. Car wants to stall periodically. It has a hard idol.

I have had the some part of the fuel and transmission censor replaced a couple of time by buckeye Ford in london ohio. The last time I it was replaced I was told this happens all the time and that my car could stop running I am concerned that I will be driving and something just makes it stop the rpms go up to 3 or so sometimes at take off and there is a hesitation please look into this for me. It clicks constantly - I have start the car with a battery charger although I just put a new battery in the car, I have had the transmission clutch and parts replaced twice. - its still slipping out of gear it sound like grinding metal. Im so done with this car.

After refueling the vehicle, the first time I go to start the engine it gets to approx: 1000 rpm and then rpm proceed to decrease until the car has stalled. When attempting to start the car the second time, the rpm drop but the car catches it and it does not stall. Only after refueling does this issue occur.

Well when driving my car for a while more then a hour or so I would randomly stop I. The middle of the freeway pretty much if your pushing the gas it's like pushing the brake the fuel wouldn't go to the car to mqke it move I have to immediately turn my car off I was scared it would break the engine or so thing it was unsafe cause it was on the freeway so I could of gotten hit from the back I've taken it to the Ford dealership cause they said it was the recall on my car but I've taken it 3 times now and they tell me they can't find the problem it's getting frustrating cause they act like they don't care all they worry about is getting there loaner car back they don't care about the safety of there customers.

1. Clutch slips in transmission causing vehicle to stall or reach dangerous rpm's before switching into another gear. 2. Repair was denied by Ford stating that it wasn't related to the current recall but was the clutches that needed to be replaced. Clutches are going out due to the tcm that was recalled on the vehicle. 3. Horn has decided to stop working along with controls on the steering wheel due to a wiring issue with the vehicle. Fuses have been changed ensuring that it is a wiring issue. 4. Hazard lights as well as half the buttons on the dash including radio, etc. Have also decided to stop working due to a wiring issue in the vehicle. No hazards making it a risk and unsafe to pull vehicle off of road in case of an emergency. 5. Ford dealership that car was taken to stated all recalls were completed but when VIN is entered through Fords website it states that all recalls are incomplete. Ford sent me a notice for repairs on transmission stating it will be almost $1400 to replace clutches in transmission. There would be no problems with the clutches if there was never anything wrong with the transmission control module to begin with. Repairing the transmission should not be on the owner of these vehicles and Ford should be liable for the repairs to an issue that was their responsibility to correct from the beginning and was not corrected in a timely manner.

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving 20 mph. The check engine, coolant warning light illuminated. As the vehicle stalled out and started to jerk. The contact turned the vehicle off and back on which failed to restart. The contact try a 2nd time which then the vehicle resume back to normal. No dealer was contacted. The contact mentioned NHTSA campaign number: 15v813000 fuel system, gasoline NHTSA campaign number: 13v523000 power train as a possible soultion to the failure however the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. Ck.

I was driving along the highway 80 in the left hand lane , ready to pass a semi truck when the car lost all power from the engine a light came on and it read engine default service now ok , as all power was shut down . I was then forced to go to the emergency lane . I was almost ran over by two semi trucks coming from the right side of highway 80. I had it serviced at phil long Ford chappel hills in colorado springs and they wanted $4500 to fix it .

Tcm replaced 66,550, clutch pack replaced 68,148, and complete communication failure between the throttle and transmission, tonight at 82,000 miles, I fully opened the throttle pedal down, and transmission failed to give me any acceleration for 3-5 seconds. This almost caused a bad situation tonight. Radiator replaced at 77,600, coolant still drops to the min- line. No reasoning on where the coolant is going.

I was setting at a red light and when it turn green I stop on the gas a little to start going but it hesitating and the would not go . It just kept hesitating and car behind me lade on the horn. It would go a little bit and stop again. It keep doing that at every light I stop at.

Vehicle was in motion when the �stop safely now� alert came on and disabled power to the car. I was able to stop the vehicle safely but unfortunately, it didn't turn on again so it had to be towed to my house. After trying multiple times with no luck, I had it towed to the Ford dealer for inspection and repairs. I know this defect is known by Ford since some recalls have been issued but to try to repair the concern. My car's �electric unique component� 8 year warranty is still valid but Ford is trying to charge me for the repairs. The vehicles 12v battery died due to the problem but they made me purchase a new one for $180. I believe I shouldn't have been charged since the issue was caused by the cars defect. The car has been at the dealer for 2 weeks with no resolution. I just feel I wanted to make a complaint to maybe get assistance with Ford acknowledging that the issue should be covered under the warranty. Thank you for your time and attention.

I have had to take this car back in over 7 times now and will be taking it again in Monday. It sputters on take off this weekend was awful.

This car is stalling stalling constantly . It just gets worse as time goes by . Once it gets going at a good speed its fine . Yet when u take off or pull out in traffic it stalls and is extremely dangerous. I've had it looked at by 2 mechanics and they say its a problem with those model cars and there are recalls on some . . I would like to know if its recalled on this car because I am very afraid of getting killed because of the stalling . . Please help before this happens.

Check engine light came on yesterday out of nowhere. Car started jerking bad as I took off. Slowly but getting worse til I had to stop. Then didn't wanna crank back up. Strange. So we hear a loud ticking noise . . This is with keys out of the car ignition. . . . I put keys in , still nothing. Eventually it crank but no reverse. God help me!!!!!!!!!!!.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to repair the vehicle. The manufacture was not made aware of the failure. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Dr.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. While adding fuel to the vehicle, it would not start right away. The vehicle also felt as if it would stall when having to slow down in traffic. Malloy Ford of charlottesville (2070 seminole trail, charlottesville, va 22901, (434) 977-7960) diagnosed that the canister purge valve failed. The dealer stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall for the canister purge valve. The manufacturer stated the same as the dealer and opened a case to qualify for reimbursement if the vehicle were included in a future recall. The failure mileage was 80,000.

The excessive vacuum may result in an engine stall while driving, without warning and without the ability to restart. The canister purge valve fails as in recall 18v735000, but it does cover this VIN.

The car has been stalling, jerking, jumping and skipping every time I accelerate. I have taken the car to the dealers more than 4 or 5 times since I bought it in 2014! they told me those cars will do that. Wrong! I have all the paperwork of how many times I have taking it for the same thing. The car continues to shudders at slow speeds, and jerks into gear. When backing up on incline street/driveway, rolls back. When accelerating in a highway is dangerous as the car does not respond and making it a safety hazard when shifting lanes, entering on intersections or highway. The problem continues after taking if to the dealer many times.

The contact was then informed by a dealer(rivertown Ford 1680 whittlesey rd, columbus, GA 31904) that there was a recall on her vehicle under NHTSA campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). The contact was informed that they would perform a diagnostic to see if the purge valve was defective. The contact was informed that her purge valve was intact and that they would only perform a system update on her vehicle; however, the failure had continued to occur after the update. The contact stated that she had taken the vehicle to several independent mechanics for repairs to the battery, the idle sensor, throttle body control module and the purge valve, which she linked to the initial recall. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure . The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. Jo.

The Ford Focus I own was manufactured in 2014 with a known transmission problem. The manufacture alongside their franchises know about this issue yet they still refuse to repair it.

Takara recall the car can run for a few minutes give or take 30 minutes then just shuts off. It takes a few minutes just to turn it back on if lucky or have to call and have it towed.

There are two open recalls related to the fuel system of my vehicle. I have been contacting my Ford dealership since the winter of 2018 about having the recall work done. They have not gotten back to me and have only stated that they will when there is a fix available. As of this week, 08/14/19, my check engine light is on. Took to an auto parts store to have them run the code. Two codes came back and both are related to the fuel system. The recalls in question indicate that the vehicle can stop running while driving, and this increases the likelihood of an a collision. The car is now not running at all. It is unacceptable that Ford has taken close to a year to fix their errors which have caused these recalls, especially when safety is a concern.

I had a recall on this vehicle prior to this complaint I'm filing now . The recall was fuel deformation inspection, Ford installed a fuel vapour Sep the recall number is 18s32. Now this problem was originally fixed 3/18/19 . It is 8/13/19 that I am back at the same location for the same exact problem which includes low fuel pressure , the gas isn't getting to the engine (censor) and the car stops out of no where while driving on a highway .

Prior to, the car would shudder, almost rock back and forth at slow speeds either in the parking garage, parking lots, at home. Recently the car had a rough time turning over after filling up at a gas station. The car shuddered and seemed to have a hard time moving. About a mile down the road the check engine light came on. This had happened previously, however, when the code was checked it went away (p144a). With what I was currently experiencing I took it to a shop and was advised that the purge valve had to be replaced.

Complaints: power train (currently-5th clutch asy having serviced), body: locks and hatch donot work most of the time. . Passenger door knob just fell off in passenger hand, excessive fuel consumption, car jerks and stalls, false digital readings on dash. Some lights stay on continuously. Had to have to tire pressure monitoring sensor replaced 2 yrs of having the vehicle. All supporting documents available upon request. All documents have VIN and my name on them, so cant upload them. Multiple dates of service, but am listing the last dos. My vehicle has been at the Ford dealership for 3 wks so far. Awaiting list for a loaner car is 3 wks out. I am without transportation still. Currant dos is an approximate date, as it is still with the Ford mechanic. I bought this vehicle bc I inherited raising 2 grandchildren, and needed a economical and reliable vehicle to transport them to and from dr appts, school, preschool ect, but this vehicle is anything but reliable. It's been an expensive nightmare. My extended warrant already paid for this fix last time, and now I've been told that my policy maximum may have been reached, thus making me responsible for all balances due from this repair. I have been unable to work bc of unreliable transportation, and do not have the monies to pay for this repair. This design flaw in the dual clutch transmission, there is no permanent fix. The problem recurs continuously. If my warrany policy doesnt pay for these and future repairs, nd Ford isn't paying them, I will either have to have the bank repossess the vehicle, possibly sued by Ford for non payment. I have been seriously just filing bankruptcy. Is there anything that can be done to help me out of this mess? Ford will not take this vehicle back bc it has over 60,000 miles etc. Unable to select boxes, due to frozen boxes.
