Air Bag Light On Problems of Ford Focus - part 1

My 2017 Focus rs (build date 20 March 2017, purchase date 16 June 2017; 30234 miles) had the srs light illuminated on the dashboard. This started as an intermittent issue about a year ago, and progressed to the point that recently the light is always illuminated. Ford provides for a "safety restraint system" warranty period of 5 years/60 k miles; my car is still within this coverage period. I decided to bring in the car to my local dealership gosch Ford escondido in escondido, CA to have it inspected and repaired. A technician evaluated the issue and provided the following diagnosis on the service report: "verified airbag light, checked codes, found b0061:13 in oscm for passenger pretensioner, performed ppt, found pretensioner to be internally open. Need to replace pretensioner. " however, the service department contacted me to inform that the repair would not be covered under warranty and that repairs would be at my cost. I have contacted Ford corporate customer service to escalate and am awaiting a response.

So for some reason my airbag light will come on and off for a few weeks. When its on my high beams and dont work and when its off my high beams work. Then today , my car battery randomly died on me twice. It started shaking uncontrollably before then. I thought maybe I needed an oil change because I was close to due for one. When I got it they said my oil was fine and their system checked my battery as working fine too. Also when I try to step on my gas sometimes the car with skid before taking off. Im not sure if anyone else has these issues. I've only had this vehicle for 4 months and it's fairly new. It had one owner before me.

The air bag light is on and come and goes this car has never wrecked or in any damage to it. Nothing was evectivted to make the light come on and stay on. I have been informed to get it relpaced ASAP due to the fact if can go out any sec. I am a single parent and can not go and replaced a part that should have no result from myself.

While having tires mounted and checking the reason for illumination of the instrument panel airbag light the dealership discovered that my front passenger air bag was defective. I called Ford and was advised that my VIN number was not part of the recall and that they would contact me in 30 days.

Bbought the car from private party and brought it to a shop to be looked over the bad a mancanic tool scan the car passenger air bags are not responding to the computer don't know how many other cars have this issue but its not even pulling a airbag indicator light also it failed a test the mancanic ran it said passenger air bag not responding and in the event of a car accident all air bags may not go off this is a huge safety concern and also for the safety of my passengers and my self. Air bag light still come on when the car runs a equipment check. And goes away after the check is done.

"takata recall" the passenger seat is not registering that there's someone sitting there who 5'5" and weighs almost 135 pounds and is wearing his seatbelt. So the airbag light on the bottom right of the center console comes on and says "passenger airbag off" and the yellow airbag light stays lit up on the drivers dashboard until the car is shut off, all with someone who's big enough for the airbag sensor to know he's sitting there. All vehicles he sits in that have sensors for airbags for the front passenger seat always read that he's sitting there, so I know he's big enough to set the sensor off and for it yo know he's sitting there and to activate the passenger airbag. Pictures are of the yellow airbag light on the drivers, the center console "passenger airbag off", and a few showing where he's sitting in the seat and both the yellow lights are still on. The yellow lights are only on when the vehicle is running, in motion, on highway, stopped, on city streets, turning, and going forward. (itsl's alright to share all pictures publicly, I knew they'd be shared with the public before taking them. ).

Air bag light stay on, check engine light on, said secondary emission but you check everything no problem, reset code and all back on in 3 days.

Hello, today I got into an accident. I hydroplaned and went into a guide rail on the interstate going about 50mph. My friend and I are having major problems with our backs and necks and my airbags didn't deploy. This isnt the first time I've gotten into accident and they didn't deploy. The first time wasn't life threatening but this one was. I dont have any recollection of the accident and I am not able to remember much of yesterday either. I feel like there was something wrong with my vehicle before my accident due to my passenger air bag light kept flickering on and off before the accident and now this happening. Before purchasing this vehicle that has a rebuilt title and the airbag light was illuminated, I had a diagnostic test performed by my local Ford service dept. Everything checked out fine with the exception of replacing the air bag. After the air bag was replaced (~$1000 later), they proceed to tell me that the airbag light is still on and the sensors need to be replaced and it will cost us another $2000. If this was known at the time of the diagnostic, we would have never made this purchase.

Gas gadget (and miles) will read 1/2 tank (200 or so mile) and with no warnings stall (turn off) even once putting gas in vehicle hard to get it started!also air bag light is on (most the time) engine light is on. The rear passenger door has to be "slammed" or closed hard in order to latch. I bought this car as first owner in 2015! very disappointed! I have had this vehicle turn off on me at least 5 times even with my disable son with me, I could have been hit and we could've been hurt or worse!.

I have just acquired this vehicle in oct or Sep of 2018. It has been a pretty good car up until now. The airbag light comes on and off intermittently and now the engine light is on. My mechanic checked why the engine light was on with his computer and has said it's a fuel issue. I take it back to him on Thursday to go over the fuel system and engine to better diagnose the issue. In the meantime, I've been looking up various complaints and issues with my 2007 Ford Focus and not stating the specific issues and the two main complaints and recalls that keep coming upstate that there have been numerous airbags and fuel system issues. These are both the issues I'm having. The airbags light keeps coming on and off without the system being reset. The engine light is on and hasn't gone off. It came on when my husband filled the tank up about 3-4 weeks ago. The only reason we've not had my mechanic look at is due to income. I'm disabled, my husband is in the process of retiring in September and he was injured on the job and has been out for about 5 months. I wouldn't have even looked on the internet to see if there were recalls but we're making a trip to durham in July and need a reliable vehicle and are concerned about the engine catching fire or not getting the fuel needed. Please let me know if this has been any safety issues with this make and model of car. Thank you.

Bought a 2005 Ford Focus in April, 2018. Told sales man that airbag engine light remains on. Was told is ok. On 6/112018, called customer service Ford coporate spoke with a lady. She ask for VIN number, I gave it to her. She said 2005 Focus has no airbag recall. I told her that air bag light stays on since we bought the car. She didn't take interest on that. I asked her what company made 2005 Ford Focus airbag? she would not tell me. I called local Ford dealer in wesley chapel FL. Told service tech same thing that I told coporate of engine light airbag always stays on. He too said is nothing. That VIN number is no recall. I asked him as well which company put airbags in 2005 Focus, was it tahkata? he too wouldn't answer me. So I email mr. W. Ford to explain above situation with airbag light and who placed air bags in 2005 Focus. Have not heard from him or his office, explained to mr. Ford, that airbag light being always on and his dealers want to charge me $200 to check engine light is absurd. When this is a national safety recall. That we as their paying customers deserve an answer and better treatment. Can you please tell me if this is a safety violation? would like to hear from you. Thank you. J. James smith.

Airbag light intermittently comes on. Vehicle is at dealership who states it's not covered on warranty despite purchasing extended warranty good for 125k miles or 7 years. Diagnosis is the "pigtail kit" needs replaced. They stated since it's an "electrical" issue and not an issue with the actual airbags, it's not covered by warranty. The electrical issue basically means the car doesn't know when to deploy the airbag, which is a huge safety issue. The car has been at the Ford dealership repair shop before for this problem, but they "couldn't diagnose the problem because the light was not on during the time the car was at the shop. ".

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the driver's side air bag module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact spoke with lithia Ford of klamath falls (2833 washburn way, klamath falls, or 97603) who stated that there was no TSB or recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 07v541000 (air bags). The approximate failure mileage was 93,000.

The airbag light suddenly came on one day and it does not go out. I researched it on google and it appears to be very common in Ford Focus vehicles. The safety issue is that in my research I learned although this is a common issue, if the light is on the air bag will not work if needed.

The airbag light in the dashboard stays on all of the time. The driver and passenger seat belt comes unbuckled sometimes for no apparent reason, and has been doing this since I acquired the car in 2012.

The air bag light stays on almost all the time and the passager seat belt will come unlashed at times, this has happened more then once with in this last year 2016.

My air bag light stays on all the time and I am scared it wont deploy if something happens, plus in the manual it says that if the light stays on that there is a defect. Plus I went on here and found 6 other complaints about air bags.

I took an exit off the highway and came to a stop sign. When I turned left at about 15 to 20 mph, I straightened out my vehicle, and at between 25-30 mph, my driver's side airbag deployed out of my driver's seat without any reason. I did not crash into anything nor did anything crash into me. The weather was sunny, with no precipitation, and the roads were clear with no ice or snow. After the airbag deployed, the airbag light came on. The mileage was 109,812. When I took my vehicle to the dealership, they could find no reason why the airbag deployed. They wanted me to replace modules and sensors, totaling $2,800. Because there was no collision, my insurance refused to help. Ford customer service told me that they will not do anything because it is past the date of warranty. This is a serious safety issue that needs to be investigated.

My air bag lights comes on and off. Car hasnt been wrecked but when light comes on it will stay on for half and day. These two lights passenger and driver will come on while car is in motion going down highway.

For some reason, my airbag light continues to stay on for a few days and then may go off for a day before coming back on. No one has been able to figure out whey this is happening. Air bag indicator light on dashboard was intermittent at first depending on temperature and humidity, but for past two years it has been on constantly. Have checked wiring harness underneath front passenger seat since I was told it was a loose connection causing the light to come on. This seemed to fix the issue at times, but no longer does.

The air bag light will not go off on the cluster but goes off on the dash.

The clock spring and other circuitry was repaired and replaced at 50000 miles by mantilla Ford of west haven, CT at 50,000 miles. This is a safety issue of major importance. The repair was done under warranty because the airbag light was on. I communicated with Ford motor CO. At their headquarters by email last week and they did not respond so I called them this morning the so called repair that was done was not effective. The airbag light is on again. This vehicle has never broken down, has never been in an accident and never been towed. Told Ford that I should not have to pay for what I perceive as a manufacturing defect which could kill me. The have refused to consider covering the repair which branford Ford of branford ,CT estimates to be $502. 00 I intend communicate with the legal dept at Ford headquarters for.

The air bag light has been on for several months. Ford says it's not part of the takata recall but I want to be sure. I don't want to die from it exploding and I want it checked to be sure. I bought the car used so I have no idea if it may have been replaced before. I don't trust the dealership here.
