Alone in my car, driving on a 4 lane city street, I had slowed, almost at a full stop, to wait for the car in front of me to turn into the parking lot on our right. I was having issues with the electrical problem the horn went out for a period of time also the radio is not workingas well as the airbags did not deploy when I was recently in a vehicle accident I am lucky to be alive. I was involved in an accident in February 2016 and my crash bar broke off and the airbag sensors broke off, so the airbags did not deploy on impact. My sister owns a Ford Focus 2005, she had a minor accident during a trip to work. The car slide down a hill at less then 25 mph in wed road. The car stop by crashin in to a rock in the side of the road saving her life from a clift. Recently we upgrade the suspension, tires and breaks to prevent it to happen. We took the car for a round trip in it we have a second accident. This time I was driving the car in a littel hill at 45 mph in a zone of 50 mph, at a half of km I change the gear because the road was wet to slow down the car but suddenly it start sliding over the wed road. Considering the time and, the maneuvers to take control of the car I start pumping the breaks and tried to pull the car out of the road but ot didnt change its direcction. At less then 8 meters the car got a littel of traction but it was to late to evade this accident. During the colition the air bags didnt deploy leaving my body hit the wheel. It was a miracle we are alive and I dont whant to imagine driving this car during a snow road.

Vehicle slid on black ice, up an embankment and into a utility pole. The airbags did not deploy. Operator was wearing seatbelt, struck forehead on steering wheel sustaining a laceration that required 20 stitches. Operator was transported to hospital by ambulance, where he was subsequently put on a ventilator because of possible bleeding in the brain. Operator, thankfully made a full recovery, but will be permanently scarred.

I exited the highway via an off ramp and hit the breaks to slow down. My back end spun out of control and I hit the guardrail with the front driver's side of my car. My car was deemed a total loss, my air bag did not deploy.

August 28, 2015. While heading westbound on a traveled highway; a vehicle pulled out in front of the westbound car and caused an accident wherein, the airbags did not deploy or the seatbelts did not lock. Vehicle was doing about 45 mph when accident occurred.

Last night I hit a deer going 70 miles per hr. On the highway. My leg airbags deployed but my steering wheel did not only the clips came out. Due to knee airbags I have huge bruises on both legs. I feel that the steering wheel has a defective airbag since it did not deploy. If I had hit a tree instead of a deer its possible I would not be here to file this it did not protect me at all.

I was driving to work at 0700. I went into a curve and the road was wet. I was going 57 mph in a 55 mph zone. I braked to late. I sled off the road and went airborne. From where I went airborne and to where I landed I went 293 ft. (per state trooper) they say I'm lucky to be alive. I flipped multiple times. There is damage all over the car. Looking at the damage and how I went head first into the hillside causing the flip my airbags did not deploy. I hit a tree while I was in the air. My side airbags did not deploy either. I want to upload a picture but I see I'm unable to.

I rear ended someone yesterday, going 25mph. The person in front of me stopped and I was trying to find directions and did not see them stop. The front of the car is severely damaged, and I have whiplash pretty bad, but the air bags did not deploy.

The airbag warning light for the driver's side airbag on the dashboard goes on and off and has been doing this for the past couple of years. (I am not sure exactly when it began, since when the light went off, I thought the problem was over) I have had a car repair shop try to fix it several times, but the problem has continued. The warning light comes on and stays on (in every season of the year) when the weather is humid or damp and goes off when the air is drier. The mechanics say the airbag will not deploy when the airbag light is on and that I have to replace the airbag at a cost of around $400. I do not believe it is a takata airbag, but am not sure. Still, it is defective and I think these airbags should be inspected in other Ford Focus models in which they are installed. Also the automatic door lock (locking from the driver's side front door) stopped working for the front passenger's side door more than a year ago. I now have to lock and unlock it manually from the inside, requiring the passenger to wait outside the car while I (driver) get into the car and unlock the passenger side door. This poses a safety issue for the front seat passenger.

My daughter was driving the Focus in menomenee WI, where she is in her masters program at stout university. She was heading south and the young man in the other vehicle was heading north, he turned left in front of her smashing her vehicle. His air bags went off ours did not. Was driving down the road at the posted speed limit of 35 mph. Hit a patch of ice on the untreated icey roads in glocester ri . Caused me to increase speed while spinning in circles . Ended up hitting a tree with the front quarter panel on the passenger side destroyed everything on that side under the hood and the chasie in the front!! next I spun again hitting the front bumper on the right side! air bags never deployed and they should have at the speed and volosity the car hit the tree at!.

I was in an accident where I rear ended a truck on the highway going approximately 50 mph. There was an accident to the right of me on the highway shoulder and I looked to my right as I saw a guy get out of his car. I swerved and looked forward. It was at that time that I saw a truck completely stopped in front of me. I hit the truck and did complete damage to my car. I am concerned because there was extreme damage to my vehicle and my driver's airbag did not deploy. I had no passengers in the car, no other airbag deployed. My state police trooper who was on the scene said to file a complaint because my airbags most definitely should have deployed. I suffered some injuries and I am looking into this matter further. I was involved in an accident in which I rear-ended the vehicle in front of me. I decelerated from between 60 and 65 mph to 0 mph in just a few seconds, with frontal impact being made with the car in front of me probably somewhere around 30 mph or less. My knee airbag deployed immediately (I have the bruise to prove it). My steering wheel airbag began deploy but stopped. I have pictures showing the horn cover of the steering wheel separated from the base about a centimeter. My horn began honking in even pulses. My steering wheel airbag never actually deployed. I noticed that other 2013 Ford models had recalls for steering wheel airbag failures, but not the Focus. The symptoms described, like for the fusion, seem similar to what I saw with my airbag. The fact that the sensors detected the crash was enough to set off the airbag, but the airbag could not fully deploy concerns me. My vehicle is in the process of being repaired, and both airbags are being replaced, but I wanted to be sure to report this, just in case this could be the start of a bigger issue for my model. I was lucky. In my accident, the steering wheel airbag was not needed to keep me safe, but someone else might not be so lucky.

My transmission will slip out of gears lose power while accelerating and stops completely when that happens dealership replaces tcm twice and clutch once but the jerking gears slipping out and sudden loss of power has never been resolved also my a/c lines have had holes rubbed into them from serpentine belt another problem is electrical the sync and radio stopped working at 30000 miles was fixed under warrenty and stopped working again at 70000 miles told not under warrenty any more it is very dangerous because out of nowhere the speakers will crack at full volume startling driver. Another problem at 40000 miles a car pulles into my path causing me to slam into the side of there car at 45 mph with no time to stop my airbags did not deploy causing me to smash face of windshield and seat belt was fastened told dealership about this they said the car has a Smart airbag that calculates the rate of deceleration of when to deploy airbags not sure how 45 mph to 0mph is not enough deceleration.

My car spun and hit a guard rail on the back bumper. This then pushed the car across the road where the front end hit the side of a mountain. I hit my head on the driver side of the car during the impact and was knocked unconscious and had to be taken to the hospital. My front air bag and my side curtain airbag did not deploy.

I turned onto a two lane street (one lane in each direction). The oncoming traffic was stopped due a red light. My tiny car was hit by an SUV that had "punched" the gas to try and cross in front of me- but hit my driver's side door instead. There was a great deal of damage done to my car, but my airbag never deployed. I've heard of airbags going off when someone barely hit something with their bumper, yet I got hit directly in my door, at a decent rate of speed by an automobile twice the size of mine, and my airbag did not deploy. Not my front airbag, nor my side impact airbags. I have to believe this is some type of defect.

Young lady turned left in front of me and I had no time to stop-head-on collision. Steering wheel air bag did not deploy. Knee air bag did deploy.

On 7/31/14, my Ford Focusse hatchback accelerated while parking and crashed into a high chain-link fence. Significant front end damage to the vehicle was repaired. The airbags never deployed when I hit the fence and small tree and I was lucky that no one was near the car when it malfunctioned. Subsequently, the car has been parked! I have tried to communicate with Ford motor CO. By fax, letter and phone over the last 2 months. The dealership wants nothing to do with this car. We are reluctant to sell and want this car off the market. We have no voice. I continue to read all complaints on your site. When are you going to do anything about it! I can't put my grandkids in this car and I don't want anyone's child in this car. Please call me. We need to get this car off the market before someone is injured or worse!.
