Air Bag Problems of Ford Focus - part 2

[xxx] were driving in their 2010 Ford Focus and attempted to stop at a sign. The vehicle would not stop and accelerated. The shepherd were in a crisis. The vehicle jumped a railroad track, flipped, and landed in an embankment. [xxx] airbag (passenger) did not deploy. The front dashboard and steering wheel airbags went off. If I was moving this could’ve ended even worse but luckily I was stopped. My hearing was affected. I was parked at a red light and my airbags went off. I did not hit anything nor was my car moving. Witnesses at a restaurant and auto repair shop say the same. My car had passed that years inspection and there was no signs of this happening. No lights, sounds, anything. It was very sudden.

I was involved in an accident and was injured on Feb. 1, 2020. I was driving on straight away when and an SUV turned in front of my vehicle at high speed. My Ford Focus struck the SUV driver side door and my Ford Focus right side bumper got stuck under the SUV driver side door. My airbags in my Ford Focus did not deploy, but the SUV airbags did deploy.

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that her son was driving at approximately 65 mph when a Jeep unexpectedly entered his lane as a result he rear ended the Jeep causing it to rollover. The contact stated that the air bags deployed. The contact stated that her son sustained injures to the chest and right leg that required medical attention as well as a child passenger in the Jeep was transported by ambulance to the hospital. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The dealer or the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 44,000.

Our Focus was hit by a car. The vehicle hit the Focus primarily in the area of the driver's side door. The door was pushed in/crumpled approximately 18-20 inches overall, intruding into the passenger compartment. The window shattered. The damage to the fender was significant enough to distort the front bumper. The "pan" or area immediately below the door was bent approximately 6 to 8 inches toward the midline of the car. The force of the accident �spun' the Focus approximately 180 degrees resulting in the Focus colliding with a guardrail. The force of the impact with the guardrail bent/distorted the body of the car and caused significant damage to the rear bumper and brake light assembly. The extent and expense of repairing the damages necessitated the car be considered "totaled" by the insurance company. The reason for my complaint/registration of concern is neither the front or sidewall airbags deployed despite the severity of the accident. Part of the decision to purchase the Focus was based on the safety features including the airbags. In hindsight, had we known of the airbag's propensity to fail to deploy during an accident of this severity, our buying decision would have been different. The airbag's failure to deploy should be examined for adequacy of purpose for which they were designed.

In Dec. 12-23 a deer landed in front of us as we were driving on a on highway and going about 50 mph. Deer damaged hood radiator etc. Biggest concern . Both airbags deployed. The powder. Right after the initial impact I said open the door open the window cuz the dust was flying around the car and I believe I inhaled some in my throat up my nose that was really bad . The dust smells bad irritating eyes throat. As a couple days went by. Throat very sore coughing off and on. ? the chemicals ? toxin,, can they cause problems later. Inside both nazal passages very crusty and dried blood. Small skin burn on mid nose. Also headaches , feel dazed, hair and face had a weird smell , also severe ringing in ears. I am extremely concerned if this vehicle has had issues with toxic chemicals and what help can I get to resolve this and I am concerned. The police came rescue came we a grateful we were able to walk away but sometimes problems occur a few days later. I am extremely concerned about the respiratory impact and irritation if the chemicals can cause problems later. On 12-25-19. I just dont feel right. Headaches also respiratory and throat concerns.

On December 12th, 2019, I was involved in a three-car fender bender on fairfax county parkway in virginia. I was traveling in slow-moving traffic at 7:20am, close to reston hospital, when the two cars in front of me slammed on their brakes unexpectedly and I unfortunately could not brake in time to avoid hitting the car in front of me. The car directly in front of me was a Toyota SUV and had a tow-bar, which took most of the impact of the crash and caused damage to my vehicle. Aside from some minor scratches, both of the other cars involved in the accident were fine and the two drivers were able to continue on their ways to work. My car, on the other hand has been declared a total loss by my insurance company as it immediately burst into flames upon impact. As I mentioned above, the traffic was slow-moving so we were not traveling at more than 25-30mph at any time on that stretch as we navigated the traffic. This should have been a very low-impact and minor incident; however, for some unknown and unexplainable reason, the Ford Focus was on fire before I even knew that I had crashed. The impact was so minimal that no airbags deployed. Firefighters were onsite within 5 minutes and had difficulty putting out the blaze. In addition, I was still in the car while it was on fire because it happened immediately upon impact, so while I was lucky to walk away without any physical injuries, I was immediately taken to the ambulance to monitor my vitals and try to control my shock. I realize that there have been recalls of Ford Focus vehicles purchased in 2017 and prior; however, I strongly believe that the safety concerns raised in previous lawsuits against Ford pertain directly to the 2018 model as well. We had already replaced the clutch in the Focus after a year and a half because of a transmission failure also noted in previous years.

This was a recall already that is hazardous to all drivers on the road includong the driver. The car will stall,studder,and give no power when pulling off. I cant understand how something so dangerous that also cost me my life would have a limited warranty on a saftey recall. This should be a lifetime warranty on this. Because they caim to fix the issue but if it continues to break down after 2 months 3 months. Why is their a limited time frame on safety recall and the saftey of drivers and the owner. This has caused accident to others. Because when a recall is done. You believe the issue is fixed. It should continue to have the same problem. Then the limited warranty is up. Now you're stuck with a safety hazardous car that is dangerous to put on the road. Please help. I did stall on the road I had to get the car towed. I was stalled due to this recall. Now it's happening about. Drivers safety shouldnt have a limit this other incident occurred due to their warranty not holding up with keeping the roads safe. The same safety recall is now starting to cause road hazardous issues again that will be unsafe for the road and myself. The cars not even 10 years old.

I was turning left on a yellow light in a busy intersection during rush hour. The car opposite of mine was not paying attention and hit the bumper of my car. My air bag did not go off and my seat belt doesn't pull out the way it should now.

Takata recall. On Friday March 1 2019 as I was driving my air bag exploded. No damage to vehicle occurred.

Major accident with no air bay deployment.

I was going 60 mph on a freeway in the far right lane when my car started to hydroplane across 5 lanes of traffic and I hit the center concrete barrier head on and then the force of the impact caused my car to spin around and then the rear of the car hit the barrier head on. Not a single airbag deployed. Not even the one in the steering wheel. I think there's something faulty with them but no one will take a look at it for me.

I was coming home one night, in my 2004 Ford Focus, when another driver comes speeding up behind me. He then proceeds to pass me during a corner, cutting me off. I hit the brakes and lost control. My car was sitting ,in the driveway of my,home it was t-boned after which it spun around 90 degrees,it was damaged severely. The air bags did not deploy,I think they should've deployed. The car went to the shop and it has not been properly repaired,the body is structurally distorted ,and some of the mechanisms related to suspension and the trailing axle aren't properly installed or repaired.

Airbag did not inflate when my son had an accident the airbag deployed but did not inflate he went into the back of another vehicle on highway 40 on October 12.

30 mph car crash, in a city environment. The front end of my car was completely destroyed and airbags didn't deploy nor did my seat belts lock during hard braking, as I crashed into a truck. My body went forward and my head struck the streering wheel, resulting in a concussion. I provided a photo of the crash and have more including photos of inside of the vehicle with no airbag deployment.

"takata recall" the drivers seat belt stays pushed in when you push the red release button to take off your seatbelt. Unlike the front passenger seatbelt and the three back seatbelts that all four completely release when you undo your seatbelt, none of them stay pressed in they all fully release. The 1st picture is the front passenger seatbelt release, 2nd picture is the back passenger & back middle seatbelt releases, 3rd picture is the back drivers seatbelt seatbelt release, & the 4th & 5th pictures are the front seatbelt release from two different angles showing how it's still pushed in & not fully released even though the seatbelt is unbuckled so the button should be fully released.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Ford fusion. The contact recieved notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (airbags). However, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The Ford dealer at (877) 841-0458 115 regency park o'fallon, IL 62269 was contacted and informaed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and were not able to confirm when the parts to become available. The contact had experienced a failure. (VIN tool confirms parts not available). Jw.

Possible takata recall-dont know if this is a takata airbag-its a 2012 Ford Focus, there is no recall as of now, but my son bought car yesterday, was involved in accident today, car is in bad shape, he is ok, but no airbags deployed. A guy was issued a citation for making a left and not yielding, so my son swirved to miss him and his front and side of car were pretty bad damaged. He was going 30, slammed on breaks and skidded when they hit.

I was in an auto accident on 3/18 at fault of another driver traveling east, passing a stop sign, while I was traveling north on a residential street. The hit impacted the front of my driver's left side. The force was hard enough to destabilize my vehicle and go into 'crash mode' calling the police via bluetooth technology. Ems was called to check my shoulder, lower back and head which is in a lot of pain this morning. Thing is no airbags ever deployed. I was in a major accident with defective airbags.
