1 Brake Light On problem of the 2009 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 04/05/2018

Occasionally, without warning or prediction, when I apply the brakes to slow down, my brake pedal will travel nearly to the floor which reduces braking time and ability. Braking typically returns to normal after each incident. At no point does an abs or brake system light come on. This happens at least 1 or 2 times during my commute each way to work, which is approximately 18 miles away or a 1 hour drive time with traffic.

2 Brake Light On problem of the 2013 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 03/09/2018

I've had the clutch and transmission control module replaced twice. The car still doesn't drive properly. My car locks, auxiliary, ac nobs need tweaking to work. The brake lights constantly go out. When I'm on an incline the brake alert comes on. And now there is a power steering issue. The steering wheel is completely locked up and I'm unable to drive the vehicle.

3 Brake Light On problem of the 2012 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 01/04/2016

I purchased my car in June 2012. I have had to replace the clutch three times due to issues. I have had to have the roof liner reinstalled as it had come loose. Now, only a month after the $700 repair for the roof, I am now told to pay $950 to repair my brake booster which as broken and messed up the primary shaft. My car has less than 30,000 miles on it and is only 3. 5 years old, yet seems to be falling apart now that it is out of warranty. I asked if I had done anything to cause the brake booster to fail, and was told "no, it is just a mechanical failure," that I have to pay for because it is out of warranty. I was also told that there was no way that the mechanics could have seen the issue, even though it mysteriously started less than 2 weeks after I had it in the shop for over a week. After getting the roof liner and clutch reinstalled I was told that they had also updated all of the software in my car. A little over a week later the check engine light came on as I was stopped at a red light. I thought it was a software glitch as the light turned off when I started driving again. It happened once more about a week or so later, but it was at the same stoplight, so I thought it may be the particular angle of the car at that light or something, but resolved to take it in if it happened again. I was gone for 2 weeks for christmas break, then when I came back the low brake fluid light came on every time I was stopped for more than 30 seconds. I stopped driving my car until I could get it into the shop. So, with less than a month of driving my car since it was last in the shop, apparently $950 in damage was done that, while not my fault "could not have been avoided" and is something I have to pay for if I want my car to be safe to drive.

4 Brake Light On problem of the 2001 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 03/26/2014

Bought vehicle 2nd hand, cash, everything worked fine. Now, I have no brake lights, & my door locks no longer work on the remote, or the "all lock/unlock" button, & now my trunk latch is not working correctly. The door locks are self locking (meaning that they lock at any given time whenever they please. ) the brake switch has been replaced, all bulbs have been checked & replaced, fuses keep getting blown. Cannot locate fuse for the door locks. Ford has a campaign for the year 2000 for a door latch issue, campaign #05s27 NHTSA id# 05v-030. Also, campaign #05s50 NHTSA id #00v-411 for a tail lamp issue. There are no recalls on this yet after doing weeks of research I am finding that it is an issue with the Ford Focus from 2000 to current. After calling several dealers, none of them would tell me anything, & that "they didn't recall any problems before from anyone else". How is it that I can find this issue on the internet but the dealers "never heard of it"? why is there no change in the indicated issue of the wiring harness to the rear tail light assembly? wouldn't this be a hazard? I didn't know they weren't working until I got pulled over by law enforcement. So, this issue happens while the vehicle is being driven!!! therefore, a diligent owner who checks their lights regularly will not know it happens until (a) said person gets hit from behind, or (b) gets pulled over by law enforcement. . 5 Brake Light On problem of the 2012 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 01/06/2014

Brake light came on ,checked and fluid low in brake fluid container. This is just after I month oil and service done on the car. Filled it and tow days later come on again. Took to Ford dealer in my town and they said it was a leak around the break pumping area. They wonted me to drive the car till the park came in . I insisted the give me a safe vehicle to drive. . . At the time I have also experienced a small jerking after I brake and take off again. I thought this was a break thin where related . But they where not. Called them and told them about the jumping has been going on almost within a mouth of purchasing the car. On March 24 they worked on it and said they had to reprogram the gearing in the trans mission. Picked the car up and it is better with the jerking but it is still doing it 5 days later now . So now I feel this is something that needs to be taken back to them again and fixed right or I should be given a different transmission, mjs. I also hand a weather striping repaired on rear passenger window at the same time they worked on the transmission. And I November 2013 the cruse stopped working and had to be fixed . I have had this car 6 months and have had all this trouble.

6 Brake Light On problem of the 2013 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 12/31/2013

Passenger side tail light is out (brake light bulb fault warning light is on). After several bulb changes, the brake light either does not come on or it burns out very quickly. An on-line search revealed that this is a common problem and Ford has done nothing about this safety concern. I do not know when this problem first started because it may have been a long time before someone else noticed it and alerted me. The problem is present as soon as the key is turned on.
