Car Accelerates On Its Own Problems of Ford Focus - part 2

The contact owns a 2000 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and trying to decelerate, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and she was unable to brake. The vehicle was able to come to a stop by her coasting the vehicle. The vehicle had not been inspected by a dealer nor had it been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000. Car had sudden acceleration that was almost uncontrollable--Aug 2004 causing crash with 1 injury & car accelerated uncontrollably in reverse causing crash with damage to house. . . Both accidents could have been fatal. . Owner was accused of careless driving but was not at fault either time.

: the contact stated while depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward and crashed. The vehicle accelerated through landscaping wood and sustained minimal damage to the bumper. No injuries were incurred and the police were not contacted.

I was accelerating rapidly to merge into traffic and the gas pedal got stuck, and the car kept accelarating after I removed my foot from the brake pedal. It has done this twice. I have a 2002 Ford Focus ex.

While stopping at stop sign at an intersection consumer applied the brakes and vehicle suddenly accelerated. Then, vehicle stopped. But this incident happened more than once. Consumer drove drive vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic could not duplicate the problem. . Idle speed shoots way up for a few seconds. Consumer have to stand on brake to keep car from moving into intersection.

While driving 25 mph, the vehicle suddenly accelerated to 90 mph. The consumer attempted to apply the brakes to slow the vehicle down. Consequently, the consumer rear ended another vehicle. The police indicated to the consumer not to drive the vehicle and was towed. Please provide further information. At the time of impact the engine stalled, the power steering and power brakes went out. The consumer would like Ford to pay for the expenses.

While pulling inside of the garage vehicle suddenly accelerated. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle by applying both feet on the brakes. Consumer drove the vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic informed the consumer that the problem could not be duplicated.

Sudden acceleration of vehicle while pulling into a level parking stall at a shopping mall. Vehicle collided into a planter head on and the air bags did not deploy.

While backing into driveway, vehicle suddenly accelerated. Consumer could not stop vehicle, vehicle hit tree. Vehicle was totalled. The consumer had minor injuries during the accident but vehicle was totaled. The consumer believes some kind of defect caused the vehicle to suddenly accelerate on its own.

While driving at any speed could step on brake pedal and engine will suddenly accelerate. Consumer has to step hard on brakes until stopping. Then,shifted gear to park and vehicle will start working as normal. The vehicle was at the dealer twice but the problem still exists.

When driving and upon exiting a parking lot by applying little force to accelerator pedal and quickly releasing force from the accelerator pedal, vehicle suddenly accelerated without prior warning which caused unwanted acceleration. Vehicle was placed in neutral in order to stop. Consumer noticed throttle body came undone which caused the problem. Also, there was only a hook attaching throttle. Please provide any further details.
