Threads on the outer tie rod end stripped on the driver side. Tie rod end came off while I was driving! called several local parts departments and funny thing is they report that's the usual side that is affected. Every store in a 20 mile radius had right tie rods but no left.

Went off road in grass to avoid a head on crash when merging back on to asphalt tie rod separated from rack and pinion causing car to loose control crashing in to a telephone pole.

Tie rod bolt fractured caused the collapse of the front steering assembly of the driver's side in a 2002 Ford Focus as described in odi ea02-023.
While driving, the consumer heard a loud boom. Upon making a right turn, the front of the vehicle collapsed.
