Multiple mechanics working at and including but not limited firestone, discount tires, midas, walmart, independent mechanics have informed me the rear wheels can not be realigned with the front wheels due to how it was designed. This has caused my rear wheels to become more and more out of alignment with no way to repair the misalignment. So all steering components have been more and more hard to control and are being destroyed at a faster rate. Including but not limited car sound deadening stuff. Bolts, nuts, screws, undercarriage, tire wear, the front alignment etc. It has not been inspected by anyone but mechanics.

Car stalled at stop sign after filling up on gas. Completely shut off. Would not start back up for 30 seconds. No check engine lights on. It has done this multiple times and I have taken it to the shop but they can’t find a problem. I know there was a recall on the 2. 0 but this is a 1. 0.
The welded retainer of the front bushing on the right side lower (control) arm had rusted through. This allowed the control arm to separate from the frame and the right front wheel to turn outward (while I was traveling straight ahead). The drive shaft was pulled from the transmission and some parts hit the ground. Luckily, I was approaching a stop sign and traveling at less than 30 miles per hour. (the day before I was on i95 at 65 mph) upon inspection you can see that the control arm is forged in the shape of a "c" from very thick metal where the bushing rests against the arm. However, the bushing is retained by a much thinner metal, welded across the arm forming the other side of the "c". It is that thinner welded retainer that had rusted out. We live in an area where salt is routinely used on the roads during the winter. I know the car is very old. However, this design is inadequate from a safety perspective in the northeast.

My car is still at the dealership (crossroads Ford ,of indian trail, nc). The vehicle has been there since 11/22/22. The service department keeps telling me they are waiting on a recall part to come in and have not given me anything else. The car will not drive, and they advised it was a recall part, but the system shows all recall has been repaired? I need my car back- I have already paid 3 months for a car payment, on a car that is still sitting in the service department there.

May 7th, my car a 2014 Ford Focus se lost all function of power steering. Something else may have happened to the steering as well, because the steering wheel will not turn at all, not even one inch. I've driven cars without power steering and u can still drive them, its just hard to do so. The car was dinging while I was driving, when I looked down at the instrument panel "power steering warning service soon" that went away and this one replaced it "steering warning, service now!!!! after stopping the car and turning it off, the car could not be driven again. It had to towed from its spot. This malfunction is not in the recalls for my car. There was also a clicking noise in the front drivers side wheel area when I would turn a corner. Luckily I was in a parking lot and no one was injured. Thankfully there was a parking stall straight head because the power steering had locked up and I was unable to turn the wheel. Had I been out on the open road, there could've been an extreme tragedy for my family and children and maybe others as well. I would like for y'all to include my car for the ball barring/steering recall, as well as all 2014 Ford Focuses. When the made and model are typed in to this website and immediate warning pops up saying to stop driving this vehicle due to the steering.
I went to tom Ford Ford in carmel, in in 2016 on this issue and was repaired under warranty then Ford sent an updated letter warranty letter about the dps6 transmission and reduced warranty from 10 years to 7 years which expired in 2021. Car started having transmission trouble in early 2022; tom Ford will not repair because not under the reduced warranty terms. I asked for zone mgr from service manager but would not give me his contact and number on the issue. I’m having same problem again.
When driving on a residential street, the wheel snapped and a truck parked in the neighborhood was almost hit (scraped the rim of the truck). Luckily, the incident did not happen once I got onto a faster road.
The contact owns a 2001 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving her vehicle at approximately 35 mph, her vehicles ball joint snapped on the vehicles passengers side. The contact stated there were no warning lights illuminated nor any indication of a failure prior to the ball joint snapping. The contact stated that when the failure happened to her vehicle it caused her to crash into a ditch. The contact stated that no injuries were sustained and the vehicle was towed to the residence where it remains currently. The contact stated that she did contact the dealer as well as the manufacturer who advised her to contact NHTSA. The failure mileage was 190,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 mph, she heard an abnormal sound coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer and was diagnosed with needing the sway bar links replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
Transmission is overheated, burning smell, the car lost control, start zigzagging on the high way , and got into an accident, I was injured, and lost my job. The carmax dealership, refused to take care of a car, or even take it back, because of the safety issues. Then, second time, the transmission slips on acceleration at starts and on highways. It feels like it's the transmission is in neutral. For the third time, the car was jerking and going forward and backward , that the transmission would slip badly, even totally disengage. I was getting on a very busy road and accelerated and suddenly the car decelerated; the car behind me almost rear ended me, honked his horn, but there was nothing I could do. As you can see, the problem been reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center as a non-safe to drive. But carmax dealership ignoring the issues regardless.
I drive a 2002 Ford Focus sedan. My engine light is on, warning light for trunk door ajar light is on (even though the trunk is securely locked, my front headlights due not work consistently (sometimes work, sometimes don't). My trunk does not always latch secure after I close it as well. I took my car to advanced auto parts and had my engine light diagnosed. Engine codes that resulted were: b1318, b1881, c1947, b2438, b2434, p0457. The representative tested my battery and found that the voltage was slightly lower than it should be. My concern is for my safety as well as the safety of others. Do we have some manufacturer defects on this particular vehicle? have other concerns which could be the result of vehicle wear and tear, or/and due to manufacturer defects as well. Inner tie rods need replaced as well as control arms/bushings, as reported to me by a mechanic. I have seen recall reports related to the 2002 Ford Focus in which there has been issues directly related to what I'm reporting, which is another reason I'm filing a report. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35-40 mph the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the wheel bearings needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 78,066.
The car stalled out.
Air compression inside has always had air come inside the car never being sealed. Car engine overheats when they use their own products. Tire fault, they claim they couldn't see it, but if they really do diagnostic test as they charge, then they should see all the codes that come up on faults. Ford knows they have had issues with the cars but when you take car in they claim they can't see it, claims to do a diagnostic test, which they don't. Ask about the results they claim there is no diagnostic test for it, but yet they scam with warranty and yourself. Doors leak they say it's normal but it brings mold inside the car. I start it up to keep the battery going and to find someone honest who won't cheat you, cuz the dealerships are scamming folks. Same thing numerous times so I used the last date.

While I find rust recalls for 2001 Focus fusions and windstars Ford claims there is no recall for frame collaps from excessive rust problems. We pulled out of our drive headed up a blind hill and the front end totally collapsed leaving us as an easy target. Several good folks jumped into action to help us get the mess safely off of the state highway by blocking traffic and helping us drag it back into our driveway. We are in our 70's and only drive the car 7-8 thousand miles a year. It has been babied and maintained by the book it entire lifetime . Conversations with Ford have gotten us no where! where do we turn ?.
My vehicle will not pass inspection due to the frame being all rusted & full of holes.

Upon accelerating the car vibrates and hesitates. I was almost hit entering an interstate due to this hesitation. It "feels" like it is slipping. I did return it to the place of purchase and they sent it to a Ford dealership. The used car lot indicated that Ford did a computer reset. It seemed better for a short bit, long enough for the computer to "relearn" driving habits and it began again, only worse this time.
I want to know why the people driving this year of Ford Focus have not been compensated by Ford for all of the "defects" associated with this vehicle? in 3 years time, I have replaced the battery, shocks, repaired oil leak, vapor management valve and replaced tires out of my own pocket. The recalls are unreal! I have had it in the shop for "fuel tank deformation recall", the "tcm clutch shutter" has been replaced 3 times. Not to mention the times I have taken it in for that to be fixed, only to be told it wasn't the problem when it was later verified that it was. And now I receive notice that the doors fly open while driving! I can't trade it in, because I am $3,000 upside down because the vehicle is not worth squat. I have lost employment because of this vehicle and it has significantly impacted my and my family's quality of life because of all of the problems it has caused. I have been losing gas for the past 2 years and the mechanic's can't find the problem. When I fill up, the miles to empty will show for example 274, when I drive 1 mile by the odometer, the miles to empty has indicated 6. That is a huge amount of money I have lost in the past 2 years. This is outrageous that Ford motor company has not been forced to compensate us unfortunate people that got "stuck" with a vehicle they knew had issues! I have all paperwork for everything I have stated above but there are over 100 pieces of paper. If you require this from me I can make copies and send to you but to upload everything is too much. Please help! I would like to get into a vehicle that is safe to drive for me as well as my family. I have been driving in fear since a week after I purchased this in Jan 2017!.
I was involved in a spin out due to rainy weather on Monday April 6th, 2020. The car ended up hitting the concrete divider in the center of the freeway in access of 55 mph and the airbags did not deploy, even though the vehicle had frontal/ side impacts. I was unharmed in the event, but it is concerning to me, as my car was totaled and the frame warped around the engine.
1. The car has a real bad popping in the front end like the front ends about to just fall out. On any road & both straight or turning 2. Taking off from a dead stop front end & the transmission takes a minute for them both to catch & the car go on any road & both straight or turning 3. The cv axel pop when turning.
The issue has happened 3 times since I have owned the car. The car was shaking when I would push on the gas. There was a delay with exceleration. I was driving on the city street and the car would not excelerate the transmission was not changing gears. I had to coast down the street to make it to somewhere I could pull over. Once stopped the car would not go into any gear and would not drive. I had the car towed to the Ford dealership each time I was told that it was the transmission control module and the clutch that needed to be replaced.
Backing up the wheel barely turns and it locks up while backing up, making turns, the wheel locks up as I make turns left and right I'll bring it to the shop several times but this issue persists every year I buy a new power steering system every year. I have brought 3 power steering systems from Ford 3 years in a row. It's deadly!.

Also as it's jerking the rpms go really high as if I need to shift idk but also every time I put it in park it rolls about quarter-incput it in park it rolls about a half an inch or more then I hear a click well it's more like a tin can sound I hate it I hope it's not my transmission.
Car been defective since purchased September 2019. Haven't did car fax on vehicle since this was my first time at the dealership.

Not only have I brought my car in 4 times for the transmission, now the suspension is starting to sag which is causing the tires to rub and wear out after a year. I have been told by the service department that this is irreparable.
Threads on the outer tie rod end stripped on the driver side. Tie rod end came off while I was driving! called several local parts departments and funny thing is they report that's the usual side that is affected. Every store in a 20 mile radius had right tie rods but no left.
Replaced transmission due to recall. Then their was a recall on the recall. Took car back stating the car still shutters and stutters. Supv stated you need to drive 2000 miles it will reset. Well here it is September. 2020 car is still stuttering and shuttering when coming from stop to acceleration causing a potential accident from car behind. What can I do. They brush me off every time I tell them this . When this happens I get a warning smooth driving saves fuel numerous times and will appear as driving on interstate and it's a smooth road. Car will decrease speed.
When turning the car vibrates and shakes a lots and make some noise. Not sure what this could be but need help with this before something happens. This happened upon turning take off, highway, exhilaration in city also too. I just bought the car I notice third a friend bought this to my attention I thought it was the all whee we drive. Bought car03-08-20 drive out of town in April for wedding.
Vehicle is slow accelerating on the highway getting on and off ramps. It jerks and lags when proceeding after a stop. This has been an on going problem since purchase. Serviced multiple times. Problem addressed for about a week and the jerking always returns.
