Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problems of the 2007 Ford Fusion

I took my 2007 Ford Fusion to the haldeman Ford dealership in allentown, PA in response to NHTSA recall 19v-001. When the recall repair was completed, I was told by the service manager (victort) that although a new air bag inflator was installed, the air bag still would not inflate because the warning light on the dashboard would not go out. I was told that as long as the warning light was on the air bag would not inflate. I was told I would need to spend over $1200 to repair a rod underneath the seat that controlled this function. Without the repair of this rod, the air bag would not inflate in an accident, leaving me without airbag protection. Since this repair was not included in the recall, the repair would only be completed if I paid them the over $1200 repair cost. I was charged $110 for the diagnostic they performed to confirm that this, in fact, was the problem. I was told there was nothing further could be done at the dealer- ship to resolve the fact that the airbag would not be made functional unless I paid them over $1200. I asked for a telephone number to report this to Ford. I called Ford only to be told that the haldeman dealership had the right to charge me $110 for the diagnostic since they need to definitely determine the cause of the activation of the warning light. I presume that since they charged me to do the diagnostic test they will stand behind the results of that diagnostic test. I was also told by the Ford representative that the problem that was causing the problem was not covered by the recall, so that if I wanted the air bag to inflate I would need to pay the $1200 repair fee. I told him the technicality of what the recall included wouldn't matter if someone were killed in an accident. He kept repeating the company line that the $1200 repair was a separate issue that was not included in the recall. He then hung up on me. Please help!.

Takata inflators Ford is only reimbursing the rental car cost but not taxes. When I contacted Ford they could not give a reason why this is their policy.

Takata inflators. This is not a complaint about a vehicle malfunction, it is about Ford's failure to address the recall issues. We have received two safety recall notices. 7/16--notification of airbag danger 12/17 notification that parts would be av ailable in spring of 2018 and warning not to allow anyone to sit in the front passenger seat. We called the dealership in may and were told that the replacement parts would not be available in the foreseeable future, so we're stuck with a car that is basically a single person conveyance and consequently essentially unsalable and not repairable. My complaint is that Ford has issued a safety notice and apparently has no obligation to redress the safety issue.

Called the Ford dealer several times about the recall of the passenger frontal airbag inflator (takata recall) and they claim they don't have replacement.

Takata inflators- the cover to my passenger side air bag is warped and partially exposing the airbag. I am unable to transport another passenger for fear of it exploding. In addition, the dashboard light for my driver ride airbag will not turn off.

Takata inflators. After receiving notice of recall in March, 2017 on a 2007 Ford Fusion, no other notice of service or required action was given until legal notice of takata chapter 11 bankruptcy was sent. Still waiting for recovery for repair of faulty parts. Risk of injury is the reason for the complaint; the risk of injury isn't being compensated in any way waiting for proper repairs.

I have contacted ferman Ford in clearwater, FL. , ph #727-793-6234 several times and last contact with service manager, dennis advised parts were not available and I was not a priority. Takata recall - I received a letter from Ford motor company regarding the recall for the takata air bag inflator recall. The letter stated that I would receive notice when there was a remedy available. As of 4/5/17, I have not received this letter and the Ford safety recall site states that there is not yet a remedy available. This is unacceptable and I do not feel safe having passengers riding in the passenger seat. I live in an extremely hot and humid environment in arkansas and this is a serious safety concern. An unexpected airbag deployment, or failure to deploy in an accident is extremely dangerous to both any passengers and as the driver of the vehicle. I find Ford's effort to remedy this problem unacceptable and needs to be fixed immediately. Please force Ford's hand in fixing this recall and expediting the remedy process.

I received the notice over a year ago about the recall but still haven't received notification about the replacement parts being in stock so I can take my vehicle in for repair! driving my vehicle is a constant worry due to this situation! what is going on? I cannot drive my car because of this condition and I have had to borrow a car whenever I need to go anywhere. I have contacted the iowa attorney general office and filed a complaint. In response to this complaint they have forwarded this on to Ford motor company and I was promised a letter . That was 2 weeks ago. I need a car replacement or the current car to be repaired immediately. Otherwise I will go back to our attorney general and readdress.

I am very disappointed of the lack of speed and, as a result, lack of concern that whoever is in charged of fixing this problem has. The NHTSA recall 17v-024 has been open since January 2017 . I am still waiting to get it replaced. . Also, the area around the air bag inflator on the instrument panel is becoming curled up all away around the installation.

Takata recall , Ford recall 16s26. I received a letter from the Ford motor company on Saturday, 07-23-2016 about safety recall notice 16s26 . This notice identified that the frontal airbag inflator may rupture in the event of a crash necessitating airbag deployment. A "ruptured inflator may result in metal fragments stricking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death". I have called san tan Ford, gilbert, az 85295 (customer service/james rubio, service mgr. Gene babb) and basically was told that they do not have the new passenger frontal airbag inflator replacement and do not know when they will receive this replacement assembly/part. No answers on a Ford recall that could result in serious injury or death. I called Ford at 1-866-436-7332 and was connected with a Ford rep. In the philippines who gave me the same ridiculous answer as was provided by san tan Ford. Nobody seems to get the basic idea that I am driving a low mileage 2007 Fusion (that I bought new from san tan Ford) that is a "imminent death trap" and won't and/or can't do anything about the recall. Takata recall. We received Ford takata safety recall notice on July 21, 2016, which explained why our passenger dash was cracked and bulging. We immediately called local Ford dealer. He said he did not have the parts and we would be contacted when parts came in. We have contacted dealer multiple times because the dash is still bulging where passenger airbag is located. What really concerned us was the following sentence in the notice: "a ruptured inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death. " consequently we have been afraid to drive the Fusion and so it just sits in our driveway.

I called to see when I could bring my vehicle in and I was told that they will send out a notification when the parts were available. A few months went by and I called again and was told the same story, parts were still not in and I would be notified. My most recent call was on 10/31/17, to complain that they still have me driving in a death trap with my children on a daily basis and the woman I spoke with said that the parts were on backorder and they were not sure when they would be available. She also informed me that not only is my passenger side a recall but also, my driver airbag is faulty as well!!! I'm don't know what to do at this point because obviously Ford does not care about their customers and I try not to drive my car too often due to the fact that it is a death trap at this point. I just want to know what I can do at this point to get the situation rectified?.

They told me the part (airbag) was not available and they would call me as soon as it was in stock. I have called many times and I continue to be told that the part is not available. Its been 5 months! I work for a Lexus dealership and all the customers with the same airbag issue have been given rental cars in order to protect their safety and those effected are getting their airbag frontal airbag inflator replaced. Why isnt Ford doing something, I mean its not a broken radio or navigation error, its a safety issue and I feel Ford has done nothing to help me!.

Takata recall: my name is sylvia, and I have been waiting well over 4 months since a recall for the passenger frontal airbag inflator recall on my vehicle. My airbag light has been on since June 2016 and I received a letter toward in July 2016 informing me of this safety risk and that when parts are available I will be contacted through the mail for a repair. Here it is now 3 days away from the month of November and no one has reached out to remedy this situation. This is totally unacceptable for a company to avoid the responsibilities and putting individuals at risk! this is the second complaint that I have filed with your company. Takata recall. Our recall has been active since June 1, 2016 with no resolution. I keep receiving in the mail that the parts are not yet available and they will send a letter once the parts are ready. It's been 18 months and my airbags are still not safe due to the passenger frontal airbag inflator. I also drive with two small children in my car, I would really like to feel secured when driving.

"takata recall": this recall has been in effect for years and the dealership still does not have the passenger frontal airbag inflator replacement part, nor can they provide me with an estimated date they expect to receive the parts and repair my vehicle. The only option they offered was to add me to a waiting list, which I've been on since I was notified of the recall years ago. In addition, the dashboard is warped due to high heat around the passenger side airbag. Thru research, I discovered that the ammonium nitrate used in takata airbags can become unstable over time, especially after exposure to temperature fluctuations and periods of constant high humidity. I live in nc, which is zone b one of the three priority zones. The dealer has offered no remedy and I was told that they no longer have any loaner cars available. This the only vehicle I have for transportation so I have no choice but to drive it. A remedy to this problem should be provided immediately before more people die or are seriously injured.

The dash on the passenger air bag protruded out several months ago. I can see the airbag in the gap from where the dash has stuck out. With the and humid weather in tennessee this last weeks, it appears the protrusion is getting worse. I have seen several complaints on this issue. My car is on the recall for the takata inflators issues and Ford needs to have a recall and determine how to correct dash from protruding. I am very very very concerned with any passengers in my car and for myself if the air bag explodes and if no one is injured I am concerned if I can driving the exploding air bag could cause me to have an accident. The frontal passenger takata airbag has not yet burst, however, the cover and sides have curled up somewhat and makes a rupture of the inflator appear imminent. I have waited literally years for a free replacement but am still sidelined with being told the parts are not ready yet. Are you kidding me? I need a replacement before the thing ruptures and kills someone.

Coverage is automatically transferred to subsequent owners. As of 9/16/17, Ford has not responded to me via mail in a timely manner. I am still waiting for this letter to inform me that the parts are available and I can contact the dealer to repair my passenger frontal airbag on my Ford 2007 Fusion. Ford motor company and/or takata are on notice and are liable if there are any injuries to any drivers or passengers in this car. I need to have this resolved immediately. This is and has been a very dangerous situation to me and my family due to Ford/takata's negligence. This is unacceptable to be driving are car that is dangerous for all.
