5 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2016

My vehicle has had an airbag recall for the front passenger (takata brand) airbag. I've received many notices for this issue since I've purchased the car (August, 2014). After calling Ford multiple times, I've been told that the products have not arrived to replace the possibly damaged parts. My car has been in one accident in the past three years (roughly fall/winter of 2016). The airbags did not deploy, which is worrisome because at this point I'm unsure if it's because it wasn't necessary or because they are malfunctioning. Please advise and let me know how I can further evaluate and solve this issue. Thanks!.

10 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2013

The dashboard right by the passenger airbag is warping. The Ford dealer wants $1000 to replace it on a car that is 6 years old when it should not be warping already. I believe this is a safety concern to airbag potentially not deploying correctly.

11 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2013

The air bag compartment on the passenger side has come away from the seam and is bubbeling. Now their is a powder substance that's brown that is coming out of their as if the balloon is drying up. Alamogordo is a hot area where temps range from 90-100 degrees. The car has not been in an accident and nothing has hit the dashboard to cause it to bubble or the seems come attached. It just started gradually happening. I am aftraid that if I get in an accident the air bag will not deploy, or that it will deploy for no reason, as it seems very unstable. I have seen other Fusions with the same issue. I have attached picture from different angles for you to see.

12 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 04/22/2013

I had noticed a few weeks ago my passenger air bag cover is starting to separate from it's adhesive. This is a major safety issue for me and any passenger that sit in the front seat. This has got worse over time and I purchased the vehicle roughly a little under a year ago. At that time the car was not in that condition. No one sits with their feet on the dash and I have a visor. I could be hit at a slow speed which would not warrant my bags to deploy but could, and this would cause my other front air bag to deploy as well. There are tons of complaints about the air bags not being deployed when it should. There are a few complaints about it separating. The manufacture should step in. Car is barely 5 years old with me being the 3rd owner. Issue should not be happening.

13 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2012

Noticed passenger dash upholstery, in front of passenger air bag was buckled, and popping up. Two different Ford service managers advised that this was a manufacturing defect and that the air bag might not deploy properly due to the dash protruding. They both took photos and Ford refused to address because my vehicle is out of warranty, by years. I only have approx. 34,000 miles. I feel that this is also a safety defect, if my air bag operation might be affected. I was advised that the entire dash needs to be replaced and it is approx a $1,000 repair.

14 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2012

Automobile impacted telephone pole on right front quadrant. The continued travel of the vehicle up small embankment caused the vehicle to roll and flip. The driver's side impact airbag did not deploy resulting in head injury to driver.

15 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2011

On June 17, 2011 my daughter was driving my car and I was the passenger, we had stopped at a four way stop. When we had the right away we proceeded across the intersection. We were struck in the intersection by a driver who ran the stop sign. She was traveling around 30 to 35mph and struck the passenger side of my car, smashing in the front passenger side door, also the front support where the window shield is attached. Also the middle support where the front and back doors attached, along with the top and bottom supports of the vehicle. The door had to be cut off the vehicle to remove me out of it. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. My concern is that the side curtain air bags did not deploy in a crash of this nature. Why even have them if they do not work.

16 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 10/19/2009

My 08 Ford Fusion's air bags did not deploy. My son spun out and hit the concrete barrier and the air bags did not go off.

17 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2009

I was driving home from work on rt. 511or lorain street in oberlin, ohio. The light on lorain and s. Pleasant was flashing. I had the yellow flashing light I was driving 35 the speed limit and a girl with her two children did not stop for her red light and I hit her t-bone. My airbags did not deploy and my seatbelt did not lock. This forced me to grip the steering wheel with my hands and as I did this I bruised my arms, chest from the steering wheel trauma. I raised up from the seat and hit the top of my knees and they are bruised. I was taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital for treatment and release. I missed 3 days of work and still have pain in my muscles and trauma to my body. I have contacted Ford motor CO. For their response. I feel I should be compensated due to my injuries and missing work. And if I had been driving on a highway and this happened I could have been hurt worse or thrown through the windshield. There was extensive damage to my car and I have a rental for over two weeks I have to drive. I would like someone to check into Ford motor CO. I will seek legal counsel if this is not resolved.
