Reference NHTSA recall number 19v904 - this recall was issued in December 2019: "on your vehicle, a valve in the hydraulic control unit of the anti-lock braking system may be stuck open. . . . This may result in extended brake pedal travel required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. The condition does not result in a loss of braking function and the vehicle can be brought to a controlled stop. . . Ford is working closely with its suppliers to produce parts for this repair. When parts become available, Ford will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge (parts and labor). Parts are anticipated to be available late first quarter 2020. " at the time of this message it has been 16 months since this recall was issued and it is now quarter 2 of 2021 and parts to fix this problem are still not available. This is especially concerning, considering that another recall was issued last month, March 2021 (NHTSA recall number 21v158: the driver airbag inflator in your vehicle may explode in the event of a crash that causes deployment of the driver airbag. If an airbag inflator explodes, sharp metal fragments could strike the driver or other occupants causing serious injury or death. ). The combination of these recalls is genuinely concerning and neither one is able to be remedied by Ford at this time. Given these life-threatening safety recalls, I do not feel safe driving the vehicle. But I can't in good faith sell or donate the vehicle under this condition as it would be egregious.

2008 Ford Fusion. Consumer writes in regards to airbag inflator safety recall.
As told to Ford motor company my dash is messed up from the airbag starting to deploy during the recall. They gave me a rental and I drove that but now that the inflator has been repaired they are refusing to fix my dash.
Takata inflators recall on air big and they fix it but the light is still on.
Tamara inflators worried about safety of my daughter driving this car.
Takata recall - after receiving notification about the faulty airbag psan inflators made by takata corporation in 2016, I am still awaiting a replacement from Ford motor company as of January 2018. The resolution time is unacceptable and puts me and my vehicle occupants at risk for injury or death. I have contacted Ford on numerous occasions to receive an update, but am told parts are unavailable and may become available in spring 2018. My major complaint is the time to resolve the issue and the risk that takata and Ford have placed me and my family in by not resolving the issue in an expedient manner. I would like the NHTSA to explore options with Ford for them to issue me a safe method of similar and acceptable transportation while we continue to wait. Two years for resolution is too long. I look forward to your prompt reply.

2008 Fusion - vehicle identification number (VIN): 3fahp07z18r236595 I am instructed by the first letter by Ford in July 2016 and the postcard by tk holdings that the repair and replacement is free of charge and carried out by my dealer and I should approach my dealer, and I have approached my dealer several times throughout 2016 and 2017 but my dealer has not replaced and repaired the airbag because they/Ford says no parts are available so far. I received a letter on July 2016, from Ford motor company, po box 1904, dearborn, michigan 48121 and the letter states and reads important safety recall - safety recall notice 16s26 / NHTSA recal 16v-384 on your vehicle the passenger frontal airbag inflator may rupture. I have seen so often my dealer here in carlisle family Ford but they always tell me that Ford does not have spare parts to repair the faulty airbag. We have now November 2017 and I got a postcard that tk holdings inc has files chapter 11. They are responsible for the faulty airbag. I showed my dealer family Ford in carlisle the postcard and my dealer is telling me that they are aware of tk holdings inc and that tk holdings inc has filed chapter 11 bankruptcy , but no parts are available at this time to replace and repair my faulty airbag. My dealer is also telling me that I have to keep waiting and when sometime in the near future the parts are available they/Ford will send me another letter. So far Ford is not replacing and repairing the faulty airbag. I just wonder when they/Ford will replace and repair the faulty airbag in my car. Sincerely, juergen bachmann.
Takata inflators: its been since July 2016 I was first notified there was a recall on the air bags. I called again today because of the legal notice mailed to me by t^k holding inc that if I don't file a claim by Dec 27, 2017 or may be barred from damaged caused by the air bags. I have called again today 11/8/2017 to get a appointment to have a new airbag installed. They do not have any now and have not had any bags in the last year and have no idea when they will get the bags in to replace the recalled ones. . Can you help them with their dealer to get this moved along and get the airbags repaired before we lose a life or have bodily injury from the old ones. This is a Ford dealership in san jose, CA.

Tamara inflator my passanger seat air bag looks as if it wants to pop out my air bag light is always on when I'm driving.
"takata recall". I received a notice from Ford motor company in July 2016 concerning the passenger frontal airbag inflator which may rupture in the event of a crash. I understand that Ford will eventually repair this problem but my problem is that the airbag looks like it is getting ready to deploy right now? I have no problem waiting for a solution from Ford but I am concerned that the airbag may deploy at anytime. I keep checking this site for further information but it seems that there is no further information concerning this recall. I would appreciate it if someone could inform me as to the status of this recall before a passenger or even myself gets injured in the meantime.
Takata inflators received recall notice in March. Called dealership and they said no air bags are available. The Ford dealership said they did not know when they would receive the airbags. This put myself and my family at risk of death if we have an accident. Ford has enough money to fix the issue without takata. Ford needs to step up and support their customers safety.
Takata inflators, all the dealers we contacted have told us they do not have a replacement for the airbag.
Takata recall received notification of recall of passenger airbag in March 2017. Recall states a ruptured inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death. Given this information, I've received no further information on how this can be fixed and its been over a year. I don't understand how this is allowed knowing the risks. Please tell me what the plan for getting this recall fixed ASAP. Thankfully, I haven't had anything happen yet, but who knows if I would live to file a complaint about it. . .
Takata recall Ford issued a recall notice (17s01 / NHTSA recall 17v-024) for the passenger airbag inflator in 2008 Ford Fusions. The notice indicates that Ford will send a second letter when parts become available. The recall date was Jan 10, 2017. It's Nov 5, 2017 and according to Ford customer service, they don't even have a timeline for when the parts will become available. It has been almost 11 months; an unacceptable delay to get a potentially deadly part out of people's vehicles. Additionally, the takata bankruptcy notice directs us to get our defective inflators replaced immediately. The resolution I expect from this complaint is for Ford to get their act together and get this done now. Perhaps you can apply the necessary pressure to motivate them.
"takata recall" I requested repairs be made to my 2008 Ford Fusion defective airbag inflator. Parkway Ford, 2104 peters creek parkway, winston salem, nc 27127 explained on 3 occasions that Ford does not have the parts needed for the repairs. I was notified of the recall in July 2016 and have attempted to schedule repairs 3 times in the past 16 months. Nothing has happened to me or my vehicle pending the repair, but I a very concerned that something could happen to a passenger in my car due to the airbag defect. I would like to have the problem repaired so that I can continue to drive my vehicle without fear of injury.
Takata recall- I received my first safety recall letter regarding the passenger frontal airbag inflator may rupture in the event of a crash back in July 2016. In December 2017 I received another letter stating parts were still not available and the recommend until they become available, to not allow anyone to sit in the passenger seat. 2 years later my car is still not fixed and I contacted several dealers yesterday again regarding this matter and they are still waiting on parts. They informed me to call Ford to file a complaint.
Reference complaint no. 11006081 and no. 11006075 airbag replacement - 2007 mustang and 2008 Fusion: I found the following information on a Honda website - "the alpha driver-front airbag inflators were the subject of the first takata airbag inflator recalls starting in 2008. In most cases, the previous owners of these affected vehicles did not replace the inflators under those recalls and, thus, the vehicles remain unrepaired. Now, because of the time that has passed, they are even more likely to rupture if the driver's airbag deploys in a crash. In fact, in testing done by takata, alpha inflators removed from vehicles in consistently hot and humid areas showed a rupture rate as high as 50 percent. " can I expect the same, higher percentage of kill rate, in the inflators in my 2007 mustang and 2008 Fusion as they age, as found by Honda? I will pay to have the airbags/inflators replaced - request your office provide the correct part numbers and recommended place to have the work correctly accomplished. I did not receive a response from your office to either referenced complain, any information your office can provide is appreciated. V/r, tom.
Takata recall I have received a safety recall which states that "the passenger frontal airbag inflator may rupture in the event of a crash necessitating airbag deployment. " it, also, states that "a ruptured inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death. " I have received three letters to this effect, beginning July, 2016. In addition, the letter states "if your vehicle contains a defective or potentially defective airbag inflator and is under recall, contact your nearest dealership immediately to schedule a free repair. " I contacted Ford several times, and they say they do not have the parts to replace the airbags. Today, I called Ford again, and I was told the part is "currently being developed in conjunction with our suppliers. They are expecting parts the spring of 2018; however, no specific date has been determined. Finally, I was denied a loaner vehicle until the parts come in. I have no transportation, as I am handicapped and cannot easily get into the back seat. Also, the letter stated that metal fragments could strike vehicle occupants, so it would not matter where they were seated. I am looking for a loaner (free of charge) until replacement parts are put in, or I would like to have all of the airbags disengaged permanently, until the replacement parts come in.
Takata recall I got a recall letter in the mail in July about my passenger side airbag inflator may rupture in the event of a crash necessitating airbag deployment. A ruptured inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death. I've been very scared to drive my car every since. I do not feel like this issue is being resolved in a timely manner.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags) for the frontal passenger air bag inflator. The parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The local dealer (billy howell Ford Lincoln located on 1805 atlanta hwy, cumming, georgia 30040) stated that the parts were not available. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Nhtsa recall number16v384; manufacturer recall number16s26 in two more days, I will have been waiting for two years for the defective airbag inflators in my 2008 Ford Fusion to be replaced. The vehicle spent its first 7. 5 years in the hot and humid hell that is central texas, which should make this vehicle a priority for replacement of its defective airbag inflators. Ford takes the easy way out and points the finger at takata, leaving drivers and passengers risking their lives. Can you please prod Ford to find another supplier of inflators and get busy replacing the fedective inflators in vehicles from hot & humid areas?.
We purchased our Ford Fusion 2008 through a private sale in may of 2016. The vehicle is listed as part of the takata passenger frontal airbag inflater recall since June 1 of 2016. We have not received a letter regarding the airbag recall. I found the information online after purchasing the vehicle and hearing reports of a massive recall in the news. Around June 25, 2016 on a particularly hot and humid day, the airbag compartment expanded and created a bump in the dashboard. A gel leaked out of the airbag compartment, into the glove box and on the dashboard. Not only do we have a defective inflator, but we also have an airbag that was somehow activated by heat and humidity. I highly suspect this airbag will not deploy correctly if the car is ever in an accident. I contacted three dealers (two in our area and the dealer that sold the car to it's first owner. The first two dealers said there's nothing they could do as the replacement airbags are not available. One dealer said they could replace the airbag if we pay over $600. They also assured me that the bulging dashboard and oozing gel had nothing to do with the recall, but I was welcome to work with takata after paying for the airbag to try to get a refund. Ford motor company was also not helpful saying this is a production issue with takata, and takata doesn't have capacity to produce the needed airbags more quickly. We can't afford to park the car to rust, and we can't afford to sell a car that has a safety defect. How long is too long to expect takata to produce the needed airbags? what happens if there is an accident with significant injury while waiting for this faulty airbag to be replaced?.
Takata recall: the passenger frontal airbag inflator could rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the supplemental frontal airbags are designed to deploy. Recall since June 2016, no parts available.
