Recall notice issued June 1, 2016 and parts are still not available to replace the passenger side airbag. This is not acceptable. Is NHTSA putting any pressure on the automakers to remedy this situation? surely if they can develop a new car and have it on the market in two years, they can have one component developed and available in two years. This delay in getting airbag components to the public is totally unacceptable.
I have a 2008 Ford Fusion and the plate on the dash where the passenger side airbag is lifting and you can clearly see where my airbag is about to deploy. It has as well messed my dash up there is such a gap. I have called Ford motor company and all they tell me is that they do not have the part and do not know when they will get it as well telling me not to drive my car. Well I have to have transportation so what do they expect me to drive????? I am really hoping it does not deploy considering this has been over a year that it is on recall and just so you know my VIN use to show the recall and now it does not!!! why is that????.
Takata recall: the takata recall for the passanger side airbag in my 2008 Ford Fusion has been out for about a year now and there still aren't any replacement parts yet. When will the replacement parts come in?.
Takata recall passenger side air bag contacted dealer 3times in the last 1 1/2 years. Dec 2017 said do not use passenger side until fixed we'll still not fixed.
Takata recall. There has been a recall on the passenger side airbag on my Ford Fusion for over a year. The parts to replace the airbag are still not available. I feel unsafe driving my car, as there's risk of shrapnel impaling me and the other passengers in my car. The local Ford dealership stated they legally cannot disconnect the passenger side airbag in my car. I fear for my safety driving my own car. It should not take this long to have my car fixed.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the passenger's side air bag was emerging from the dashboard compartment without warning or impact. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags ) however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called a local dealer bradford fairway sales located at 472 e main st, bradford, PA 16701 (814) 368-7166 where informed that the remedy was not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and opened cas-148456784. But no further assistance was provided. The contact had experienced a failure. The failure mileage was 55,000. (VIN tool confirms parts not available). Ap.
Takata recall- has been in effect since June 2016 and nothing has been done to correct the problem. When we check the status of the recall on line it always states that there is no corrective action to be taken at this time. The passenger side airbag was literally popping out of the dash and we had to take it to the dealer to have it repaired at our own expense since there was no recall correction.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that he did not receive notification of NHTSA campaign number: 17v024000 (air bags). The dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag was about to deploy. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Passenger side airbag is affected by the takata recall. My complaint is that Ford has known since June 2016 that the passenger airbag needs to be replaced, but has yet to send notification. I only became aware of the recall by researching on my own. Ford has an obligation to notify owners of a recall even if parts are not immediately available.
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the front passenger side air bag was protruding from the dashboard. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.
Passenger side airbag is bulged out about 1" from the dash.
Takata recall: I received a recall notice from Ford about a year ago and to warn about passenger side airbag recall and to avoid having passengers sit in the car due to danger of injury or death due to flying parts of airbag in a collision. Ford still has not replaced the airbag and the dealer says that Ford has not released any parts to replace the airbag. I believe it will be one year in July. Can Ford be forced to replace these airbags soon? or provide a buy-back option for the car in case they cannot repair it? especially after 1 year? thank you!.
Takata reall - over a year the issue is still unresolved. What does your office recommend? how unsafe does your office believe the vehicle is to drive? how long did your office allow Ford to fix this safety issue? also, I received the 15s21 recall (driver side air bag) on the families Ford mustang 2007; however, a 15s21 recall was never received on the 2008 Fusion (driver side air bag) why?.
"takata recall". Safety recall notice 16s26 / NHTSA recall 16v-38. I received a recall notice about the takata recall from Ford motor CO. More than a year ago (July 2016). I have never heard from Ford since and have questioned my local dealer several times and have been told they have not received the parts. The notice stated that the issue was with the passenger side airbag, so I am concerned about letting anyone ride in that seat. I believe that having to wait more than a year with no response or to have this resolved is unreasonable and a real safety issue for me and my family.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. While attempting to trade in the vehicle, the contact was informed of NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags). The parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact noticed that the front passenger side dashboard started to separate from the seam located by the passenger side air bag. The vehicle was taken to shottenkirk Ford jasper (868 GA-515, jasper, GA 30143 (706) 692-6467) where it was confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The dealer recommended that the dashboard not be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. VIN tool confirms parts not available/parts distribution disconnect.
I have had to replace the transmission, the head gasket, drive shaft and carrier barrings. When I had the vehicle fixed I was told I need a new gas tank as well. My passenger side airbag compartment is rising up from the dash and I am concerned it will deploy even without an accident to initiate the deploy. Called Ford motor company and they were not willing to help in any way. I purchased the car in 2013 and have had problems from the start with no help from Ford. Thank you.
A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the passenger side airbag compartment is bulging and am afraid that it may deploy accidentally causing bodily harm.
Takata recall: I do not think that enough pressure is being applied to get the problem fixed. My car should be pulled and a rental car provided at no cost. That will get them to fix the problem faster. I do not have full use of my vehicle as I no longer allow a passenger to ride in the front seat. Only the passenger side airbag is impacted on my vehicle. Ground all vehicles impacted and see how fast they get the problem corrected. It has been long enough. Take the gloves off and get tough!.
Takada recall. I have a 2008 Ford Fusion that has a passage side air bag that is potentially defective. Nearly two years ago I got a letter from Ford stating that the air bag would be replaced when parts were available. To date I've heard nothing. Today I get a notice in the mail there is a chapter 11 filing. Am I stuck with this potentially dangerous air bag?.
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the dash board around the defroster and the front passenger side air bag was detached. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 52,750. Sg.
Dashboard is peeling up in front of the edge of the passenger side airbag.
"takata recall": as seen in numerous other complaints, the area in the dash around the passenger side airbag is bulging. Ford recently expanded the recall to include my model year Ford Fusion, however, it does not appear that my vehicle is included for some reason. This, despite the fact that the air bag appears to be expanding and pressing against the dash. I would suspect that this problem is related to the takata issue and needs to be addressed by Ford.
I have contacted Ford about my passenger side air bag bulging out and they acted like they didn't care. This is dangerous. If it would to explode it would bust my windshield and not to mention if I had a passenger in front of it they would get hurt if not killed. How has this not been recalled???? this is a major safety issue and I have seen so many complaints about this issue and nothing has been done. I love my Ford Fusion but if Ford is gonna handle serous issues like this I will stop dealing with Ford.
Passengers side airbag is bulging and geetting worse.
The dashboard had begun to slightly bulge and has now peeled away from the passenger side air bag. After researching online, this appears to be a very widespread issue, of which Ford has no remedy in place for except replacing the entire dash. For a car with relatively low miles over the course of ownership, this seems like an issue that should be corrected. I have no way of knowing how it may affect deployment of th air bag, and I'm not sure I want to find out.
Passenger side airbag dashboard has begun to separate at the airbag seam on the lower side and bubbled out, approximately 3-4 inches.
Passengers side airbag is bulging and is getting worse.
I have a 2008 Ford Fusion with the passenger side air bag dash failing to adhere to the dash panel, the foam on the airbag is visible, my Ford dealer has told me that they won't deal with it due to safety and regulations- now what?! wait for it to explode and kill someone?????!!!!!!.
Dash board is curling up around the passenger side air bag. The front window defrost vent is coming out of the dash board . We have had the door handles break in half replaced . This is a safety issue the dash could come apart at any time or the passenger air bag could go off? w/ the front window vent out of the cut out in the dash this part on the driver side up could pop up and cause the window to break .
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the trim around the passenger side air bag was bulging. The contact stated that an independent mechanic diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
The passenger side air bag, the dash that covers it is opening up. For a car this car that is from 2008 should not be happening to. For the dash to becoming up like that to where you can see the air bag is really bad. What happens if the air bag goes off and gets suck on the tip of the open dash someone could get really hurt or even die. I did take it to the Ford company and they said that I would have to pay close to 1,000 dollars to get it fix and that it would not count as a recall. I have not got it fix and I am hoping that it does not get worse as time goes on.
2008 Ford Fusion sel awd: the dashboard cover is peeling up in front of the passenger side airbag. This has the potential to be a serious safety problem and is continuing to get worse as time passes. The vinyl cover appears to be delaminating from the foam rubber beneath it and could interfere with the proper deployment of the passenger side airbag in the event of a crash.
Dashboard peeling back in front of passenger side airbag. Very common issue for 2006-2009 Fusions which Ford refuses to acknowledge as a safety issue or offer repair without significant cost to owner. Dashboard peels back and bubbles in front of where passenger airbag deploys and may cause interference with airbag operation. This is not an isolated incident or result of improper care by owners, the problem is too widespread. This should be a recalled item or fix.
Passenger side airbag compartment onthe dashboard is bulking at any given time the air bag may deploy.
