general problems of the 2010 Ford Fusion - part 2

Takata recall it keeps warning me that air bag isn't working n I keep losing power steering fluid.

When the weather changed to severely cold my tired went flat and a notification of service power steering now as we as service advancetrac now I review plenty of reviews about similar problems with the 2010 Ford Fusion with results in accidents im concered about my safety.

I start my vehicle it runs fine for a few seconds then it stalls it won't accelerate at all or move.

The driver's side door will not open from the inside. I can only open it by rolling the window down and grabbing the handle on the outside. This is a safety issue. I have discussed with Ford and they are not concerned about it/will not fix it free of charge. I see online where a lot of people have had this issue with the Ford Fusion, plus other Ford cars. This needs to be recalled before an accident occurs.

Driver side door will not open from the inside. It will lock and unlock, handle will move, door will not open. I have to open the window and use the handle on the outside of the car. This is hazardous to be trapped inside of my car in an emergency.

Takama recall previous recall from 2015, before I owned the vehicle when I bought the car from a Ford dealer in August 2016, I was not warned of this recall and it shows as incomplete. For the most recent recall, I got a notice on the mail, probably from the end of may. I got in August, coming back from my summer holidays. I went to talk to the mechanics at the Ford dealer. They told me to wait. The year is almost gone. Should I go to talk directly with the dealer that sold me the car to ask about this or both recalls?.

Throttle body recall I have a 2010 Ford Fusion that I just purchased less then a year ago. One day my check engine light came on and I returned the car they told me it was the throttle body. They replaced it and 3 months later it went again. I looked up the recalls and they said that the throttle body was one of them. It has already been fixed 4 times in the last couple of years. Now my car is stalling and shutting off in traffic. How do I go about getting this fixed or something new. I looked up the recalls and it saids im suppose to have a 10 year extended warranty or 150,000 mile warranty. But no one is giving me any answers. This car is very dangerous for me and my family to be driving in. Where do I go from here. .

I bought this vehicle a week ago from a well known dealership. I was told the car was tested and had no mechanical problems. It had clean carfax and one owner. After having the car a few days the engine light came on and the car started surging and I lost accelerartion and ability to keep car on the road. I barely made it home and am fearful to drive it. I think there is a problem with the gas tank or similar component. The dealer said it was sold as is so now I have to pay for repairs that should have been detected and fixed. I am seeing other owners of this vehicle having same issues. Ford needs to issue a recall for this. Someone is going to get seriously hurt. I get dialysis 3 times weekly and thought this car would be reliable. Now I will be paying for repairs.

Drivers side front door latch failed when I tried to exit the vehicle. Took it to the dealer and was originally told "we haven't heard any complaints about anything like that from other customers" until I called bs and stated I have seen countless reports online regarding this exact same issue. Then all of a sudden it was . . . Oh yeah, I think I remember hearing about this issue, but gee no recall for it so your going to have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. Even though its something thats the exact same problem that has been recalled in other vehicles. Why does it seem issues with Ford Fusion are continuously looked over, issues which should have been addressed as a safety issue and recalled.

Tl-takata recall- the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. . The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers:19v001000 (air bags), 14e028000 ( equipment) and 15v793000 (fuel system,gasoline) however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact mentioned that a strong odor of gas was detected inside the vehicle. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The cavalier Ford at chesapeake square 4021 portsmouth blvd, chesapeake, va 23321 (757) 488-8311 was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy and also informed the contact that the vehicle was unable to start. The manufacturer were not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. Dr.

My car has a problem hanging up when you accelerate. This is my second transmission. First one went out at 41,000 and I had to get a new one. The car has a total of 109,000 on it and I think this transmission is going out. It hangs up when you accelerate so I have to be careful about how I accelerate . So that the gears will change. It is an automatic transmission. It has been slipping for at least the past 10,000 miles, I am worried that it will go out again. The last transmission went out in heavy traffic in dallas texas. We almost died in that incident. The car wouldn't go and stopped in the middle of the intersection. I am worried that the same thing will happen with this transmission. This problem started last year in early part of 2017 and is ongoing.

I inherited this vehicle a little over a year ago. The vehicle shuts off for no reason and the battery and wrench light come on. After much research I have found that this could be the etb assembly and that several people have complained about this. This is dangerous and I do not know why Ford has not recalled it yet rather than offering the customer satisfaction program. I have an appt to take it to a dealership on Saturday. This is a known issue and we shouldnt have to pay for any diagnostics. If something happens to me while driving I will sue.

There a past recall on my car which there was an issue where the studs on my wheel would fall off. I continue to have them break off my car. And Ford is refusing to help fix, repair and acknowledge the issue. This is not normal and I have placed them several times and Ford tells my its my problem not theirs. I notice the studs missing normally after driving. Which makes this even more of an issues. I put a date when this happen in this form but its been on going for several years.

Ford recall 15s34 applies to Ford Fusions with 2. 5 or 3. 0l engines with model year 2010-2011, assembly plant of hermosillo, and build dates between July 21, 2008 through March 4, 2011. My vehicle meets all of those criteria, however, its VIN is not listed as one of the affected vehicles. This is ridiculous because my auto shop has determined a failure in the canister purge valve of the evap system as is described in this recall notice. My car meets all of the criteria and has the same issue as this recall. Why is it not listed on the VIN list? this is preventing my car from being covered under the recall even though it is the same vehicle, model year, build dates, and assembly, and has the listed issue. Can this be corrected?.

Drivers front door latch does not return to latched position.

Power steering assist fault message in the message center when backing out of driveway on to the road. Power steering failed but was able to pull back into driveway. Turned car off and returned later and the error was gone when restarted the car. Has happened twice since 11/25/2017. Also while driving service advancetrac message appeared. This was before the second power steering assist fault message occurred. Took to the Ford dealer today but since the codes were gone from the message center they could not diagnose the problem. Told to drive the car back to dealer if the message happened again but if I have no power steering this is almost impossible.

So there is no remedy to fix the air bag. What happens when people start to get hurt or killed? then you will find a remedy!. . . . Just replace the airbag!.

The drivers side door handle will not open.

Car doesn't fully go into (p)ark. First time I noticed issue. My car wouldn't crank. So when I figured that the car wasn't fully in (p)ark. I thought it was me making a user error. But it did it again the next time I drove the car. It really became noticeable when I called myself parking and the car started rolling while I was getting out of the vehicle. The only other gear I've notice affected is (r)everse. When putting in reverse from park, it works fine but there are two clicks from the gear shifter. 1) between (p) and (r) and 2) once at (r). The issue is when coming from (d)rive to (r)everse. When I am shifting from (d)rive. The car will act as if it is in neutral when the shift is showing in (r).

Car shakes a lot and will turn off while at a stop light.

Started to notice that both driver and passenger side doors were sticking when trying to get out of the vehicle then it began to happen from the outside too when trying to get into the vehicle. Then on 8/2/2017, had drove vehicle and parked it in a parking lot and the driver side inside door latch made a snapping noise when trying to get out of car. Had to reach out and pull handle from outside just to get out of car. Then went to get back into car and the lever worked from outside but then driver side door swung open and almost hit the parked car next to us when we went to pull out. Like I said passenger side door is doing same thing. This could cause someone to get trapped in their car after an accident or got forbid the car would catch on fire and occupants of the car would not be able to get out.

The passenger frontal airbag inflator could rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the supplemental frontal airbags are designed to deploy. This defect report is in response to takata dirs 16e-042, 16e-043, 16e-044.

The drivers side and passenger side door handles are broken. To exit the vehicle you have to pull the lock and door handle at the same time. On passenger door side now I am unable to unlock the door from the outside. This same problem is occurring on my wife's Ford Fusion 2011. This can be a very dangerous situation if you have to exit the vehicle in an emergency.

Shortly after starting my car I received the warning "power steering assist fault" and my power steering would not work. This was recalled on the 2011-2012 models but the 2010 was left out, however the problem exists in this model too. I now cannot drive the vehicle as it is unsafe to have the power steering go out at a moments notice.

Emision control recall.

Just replaced the driver side door handle for the 3rd time. They have broken repeatedly and do not allow you to exit the vehicle.

This complaint is concerning the epas (electronic power assisted steering) which went out while in-motion, firstly; while driving to my local dmv for routine plate renewal, *before* I was set to begin my planned drive of over 800+ miles cross country to visit with my significant other, the epas warning indicator flashed across my dashboard led display, as well the advancetrac system indicator light. Once I noticed the warning, I began the process of moving off the main road and into the parking lot closest to my dmv- as I've had similar problems with this vehicle falling into "limp home" mode repeatedly and suddenly before the electronic throttle body was determined to be the real cause and was recalled. I was prepared to navigate myself towards a safe vantage point and find out what was wrong, but while doing so I lost almost complete control of the power steering as the epas completely gave out. I was thankfully safe, having decided it was best to renew my plates, but if I had just decided to embark on my planned 14 hour drive cross country? I could've been stranded, I could've been in a major accident- should the epas had gone out on the highway, I could have died. Ford seemed eager to dispel my fear that this was a larger issue, rather than an isolated instance, but it's clear to me from assessing similar people's exact same issues with this make and this year of vehicle, it's not an isolated incident. It's a massive and systemic default with the engineering, production, and implementation of this particular electronic system. I could have died. There is no justification for the lack of competency in the electrical engineering of a major vehicle from the standard bearer of our american automotive industry, these are people's lives we're talking about.

Interior door handle springs break causing people to be unable to exit their car. Window must be rolled down and exterior handle used to exit the vehicle. Both interior driver side handles (front and rear) doors on my vehicle are currently inoperable. I contacted Ford & was told to take it to my nearest dealer for inspection. Upon doing so, the technicians and parts manager informed me that this was a common problem with this model. The repairs will cost me approximately 350. 00 in parts and labor to make my vehicle safe again. This car is driven daily by my spouse, if she or my grandchildren needed to exit the vehicle quickly they could not. My family is literally trapped in the car. I will be forced to spend the 350. 00 dollars to keep my family safe. If Ford technicians are aware of this issue, my question is "why hasn't Ford issued a recall for these handles".

Like so many others have experienced, today the driver door handle stopped working. Door cannot be open from inside. Driver must climb over to the passenger side to exit or else roll down the driver window to open from the outside. This should be a recall issue.

Delayed exclamation when I press the gas pedal and slowing down for no reason while driving on the highway. The tie rod breaks over and over again. I've had it fixed 5 times in one year.

It's the recall with the throttle body. I've taken car back 3 times already. First they replace purge valve. Then light came back on and car was jumping forward. Now this is 3rd time light back on and now they won't fix car unless I pay. They said it's all a part of the same system but I need to pay for a leak that is coming from filter neck. So I left. I shouldn't have to pay for this. This is a recall. Does this qualify under lemon law? this car scares me to drive. Drive with both foot on gas and brakes.

The drivers side door latch does not open. I am stuck in the car unless I roll down the window and open from the outside which is not that easy. . This will probably result in my having to replace the windows motor!.
