Takata recall, Ford most recently recalled the airbags in my car, however just like my previous recall there is no parts available, they say the car is safe to drive but I don't want to risk my safety as well as the others in my car if it is not. Previously my car was stuck at the Ford dealership for over 8 months due to a fuel system recall, and they refused to buy back the car but did significant damage to the paint, and interior of the car when they had it. I have pictures from those damages that never got repair by Ford or the dealer all they agreed to do was replace the battery in the car.

The effect of this is the car's acceleration and fuel efficiency is drastically reduced and automatic periodic battery re-conditioning ceases. The car essentially ceases to function as a hybrid and the engine runs all the time except when at a standstill. Up to 70,000 vehicles may be affected. It has been found that this id controlled by a battery age feature in the software. Resetting this age to any lower value restores completely normal hybrid behavior and performance. Fmc has refused to do this instead quoting battery replacement for $8,000 as the solution. D. O. E. Tests many years ago showed robust performance of the battery out to 160,000 miles in accelerated testing. The fix is a ten minute software battery age change that fmc refuses to do. The reduced acceleration is a safety issue as the atkinson cycle engine was not designed to be unassisted by the battery and has very slow power acceleration without it.

In lower gears / below 3500 rpm, I will occasionally experience a sudden deceleration, and then an abrupt acceleration as the vehicle attempts to make it to the commanded speed. This only occurs when the vehicle is already in motion, most often city streets, occasionally while accelerating onto a highway. I believe this creates a potentially dangerous situation, as a driver may not have the full, consistent acceleration that he expects to have. This issue began shortly after receiving "check fuel filter" codes, due to a poorly designed inner gas cap gasket, which allows for contamination to obstruct the easy fill system's inner seal. I believe this may also be related to an issue with a throttle body controller, similar to the many Ford products and customers whom have submitted prior complaints. Not sure why those throttle body controllers didn't get a recall, the problem is common enough and the potential damage substantial.

When accelerating into traffic the engine shuts off leaving me crossed opposed traffic. Will usually start right away after. Car has to be in park to restart. On occasion the security light flashes and will not restart without locking and unlocking the car. Performing this action while blocking traffic (in both directions) can't be safe in any way. I was luckily able to pull over to the side of the road. Restarting the vehicle cleared the error, but the issue continued to recur until I was able to get home. Luckily the sudden loss of power did not cause an incident, but as it occurred on the highway, a sudden drop in speed could have posed a safety risk, especially if it had occurred in inclement weather. There was a recall for the specific part that failed, but due to my model being a hybrid, it was not included even though it contained the exact faulty component. Speaking with Ford customer care confirmed this to be the case that my specific car was not included in the recall. I was able to order the replacement part myself and perform the repair. The error message that was thrown in the car's obd system was: p2112 "throttle actuator control system - stuck closed" the code was not saved in the module so it could only be read at the time the issue was actively occurring before the vehicle was turned off.

My car has a capless fuel system but my check engine light keeps illuminating after I fuel up and stays on. I have had the code that appears tested and always comes back as a "missing or loose gas cap " which clearly is immpossible since it does not require one, when I called my Ford dealership they informed me that they are aware of a problem with it but would cost $700-1000 to fix the issue and Ford will not issue a recall. I noticed today there is a Ford recall for 2012 through 2018 Ford focus for a faulty part that could lead to engine stalls. The recall states a malfunctioning valve that could result in inaccurate fuel level readings and potentially engine stalls or an inability to restart the vehicle. This is exactly what I have been experiencing in my 2010 Ford Fusion. While I am driving and start to slow down at a stop sign or to turn the corner the engine stalls and jerks and then it goes away until the next time I slow down or turn. I believe this to be the same situation as the current recall for the Ford focus.

I have called the dealer 2 xs now and neither time have they had the part that needs to be fixed from the recall. I also just found out that there is a 2nd recall on my vehicle. I would like a new vehicle- a trade in ASAP. As one of these can result in death and my children are at risk.
