My car is leaking fuel. I am unable to pass the smog. I called Ford and they said they already inspected my fuel tank in 2016 and it was fine so they don't have to fix it now. This was recalled. It is effecting my car and they need to repair it. Just because it wasn't happening before doesn't mean they should not be responsible for this problem now that it has happened and my car is affected by this recall. They are refusing to fix it.
1. ) c/s airbag light is on - local dealership found passenger airbag in b pillar is cause - not related to recently completed recall 19s34 on passenger airbag inflater npa1908055946 per dealership. Not sure why the airbag systems in these vehicles are problematic, but the owner should not be responsible for charges for replacement of these problematic parts. Possible new recall needed. 2. ) recall 15v34 relating to leaking canister purge valve - Ford authorized an update to the vehicle powertrain control module calibrations to help prevent pressure cycles in the fuel tank - these calibrations were preformed however the purge valve has still failed. The part 9u5z-9c915-h was originally recommended 4 years ago when the recall was issued but the part was unavailable at the time, on special order. Vehicle owner requested repair / part replacement repeatedly but was told the part remained unavailable and was not an issue with the re-calibration unless the check engine light appeared. The dealership closed the recall without replacing the part - 6 months later the check engine light came on and the cause is the need for a replacement canister purge valve and the owner is now responsible for the repair/replacement costs. Recall should be honored.
I took my car to griffin Ford in tifton GA for the air bags recall and the fuel tank recall. They fixed the air bags but said nothing was wrong with the fuel recall. But I explained to them that the car will burst gas out while pumping and gas leak under the car. They said nothing was wrong with it. I took it the Ford place in turner county and they said it was the canister valve solenoid. But they said it was a recall on it. I'm confused now I got to buy one and pay to have it replaced.
My 2010 Ford Fusion had the service power steering light come on while driving down the highway, and then the power steering went out and the service advancetrac came on. I called the dealership and even though my car has two open recalls for airbags and fuel tank, along with an extended one on my throttle body, they can't get my car in until next month. I've tried disconnecting the battery terminals, and replaced the battery in hopes that it would reset the computer as the car does not have a power steering pump and is controlled by a computer chip.

If I fill my car above a half of a tank it leaks out all over the place and it leaks wether im driving or parked.
Filled car with gas a couple of weeks after replacing canister purge valve began to smell fuel. I took the car into the dealer on 14 December 2018 for the air bag recall and asked to have the fuel smell checked. The technician told the tank was cracked and needs replacing. He showed me with the car on the rack that fuel was leaking from the top of the tank.
Took my car in for the fuel tank recall. The dealer replaced the purge valve and said they inspected my tank, which was good. I was not able to fill my tank full until 5 weeks later and when I did I went straight home and smelled gas very strongly. My car was parked for about an hour and a half when I noticed a huge puddle under it which turned out to be gas. It leaked a quarter tank out! I immediately called the dealer and they told me they couldn't get me in until Thursday, this was Monday. The car sat until then. I drove it to the dealer Thursday. They submitted paper work and pictures to Ford. Friday they heard back from Ford stating they needed to drop the tank to take better pictures. The dealership was not able to do this until Monday. Monday came, Tuesday still no word, and finally on Wednesday I get word saying that Ford denied the recall and are not paying for it. The whole point of the recall was that the purge valve in the canister was building up pressure and cracking tanks. But they denied it. I called Ford's customer line and was connected to a very rude man named ryan who acted like I know absolutely nothing about cars when in fact I have worked on (specifically Ford) cars for over 20 years. He refused to let me speak to a supervisor and then proceeded to tell me that the supervisor would tell me the same as he did. I am very upset. My car is not fixed from the recall and they want me to pay $1000 for a new tank that cracked at the seal from their faulty part.
I bought this vehicle a week ago from a well known dealership. I was told the car was tested and had no mechanical problems. It had clean carfax and one owner. After having the car a few days the engine light came on and the car started surging and I lost accelerartion and ability to keep car on the road. I barely made it home and am fearful to drive it. I think there is a problem with the gas tank or similar component. The dealer said it was sold as is so now I have to pay for repairs that should have been detected and fixed. I am seeing other owners of this vehicle having same issues. Ford needs to issue a recall for this. Someone is going to get seriously hurt. I get dialysis 3 times weekly and thought this car would be reliable. Now I will be paying for repairs.
Takata recall I got a recall notice about my gas tank leaking fumes. I took it to a Ford dealer and they told me that it was fine and that they did not have to replace it. I thought that if there is a recall that they had to replace the defect the date it happen is when I bought it.
Gas tank is leaking. Per Ford- a recall fix was done in 2016 on the purge valve, but not the tank itself. The tank itself is leaking. Per Ford since the recall fix was donr in some capacity, it doesn't qualify for the remaining portion being fixed.
I have a 2010 for Fusion. I have had it for 2 years now and it recently started leaking gas a few weeks ago. It is leaking from my tank by the rear passenger tire and it leaks mostly when I fill up or put at least 3/4 tank of gas in the car. I see that there was a recall on my car for this very issue and I am trying to see if it were too late for me to get it looked at as a part of the recall.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that there was an internal fracture concerning the fuel system. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline), but the contact did not receive a notice from the manufacturer. The failure progressed and there was a strong odor of fuel and a warning indicator for the fuel system illuminated. An independent mechanic replaced the fuel tank. Recall 15v793000: fuel tank cracks and leaks fuel. 03/05/2018 my car had check engine light on. I checked it at firestone service and it showed code p1450. They found that valve cover gasket was leaking. I've been told that this is a recall and I have to go to dealer. While I waited 3 weeks for appointment with dealer my check engine light went off and they just charged me for test and didn't do any repairs. Also they told me that my car was not recalled. Right now I have check engine periodically on for couple days and after that off.
I took my 2010 Ford Fusion into cross roads Ford in shelby nc - telephone number 704-482-6791 for the gas tank recall in January 2017. The recall is number 15534. The dealorship said that they did the recall but I continued to smell fuel vapors. In the meantime classic Ford has been purchased by classic Ford and the service manager, robert ship is telling us that this is my problem and that classic is not resposnilble for cross roads maintenance issues. I contacted cross roads Ford again several months later and they said that they had already performed the recall and that it would cost me to have them to check the issue again. I took my car to earl tindol Ford gastonia nc o n November 28 and service rep that the valve on the gas tank was apparently not fixed or fixed properly. I called the Ford motor company customer support on Wednesday, November 28 to see if they would assist with the issue and I was directed back to the dealership (classic Ford) that orginaly performed the recall. I contacted billy at classic Ford on November 28 and he said to bring the vehicle in and they would look at the issue. I was notified on November 30 that the valve is apparently not working correctly and that this was a non covered charge since the recall was already performed. I perceive that this is a bad safety problem because of the gasoline vapor smell and the vehicle could ignite. I feel that my car should be fixed at no charge because I have continued to smell gasoline even after the recall. I can be reached at 704-692-1039.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While at a stop, the vehicle jerked and tended to surge. The contact stated that the same failure occurred when the fuel tank was full. The check engine warning indicator illuminated. The failures recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (delehanty Ford in flushing, mi) where it was diagnosed that the purge valve and the charcoal canister needed to be replaced. The technician stated that the purge valve caused fuel to leak into the charcoal canister. The dealer stated that the failure was repaired in 2015 per an unknown recall and the contact would be responsible for any future repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and agreed with the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN search showed one open recall: NHTSA campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 157,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

Recall 15s34 fuel tank and purge valve inspection: I received a notice for recall and I delivered my vehicle for inspection on February 20, 2016. Ford replaced my purge valve because it had failed. My paperwork shows the inspection was completed prior to 0830. The problem is I began to smell gas a few months later. The smell became worse and I returned my vehicle to Ford on November 28, 2016 for inspection. Ford said my tank is cracked and need replacement. I asked Ford to cover the cost of the tank replacement and they refused. I believe Ford should cover this cost due to condition of the tank. The tank's crack was caused by internal pressure (see photos). I don't believe the tank was properly inspected. I don't believe the Ford dealer could have tested the system and replaced the purge valve and dropped the tank and tested the system in one hour. Note: the dealer opens at 0730 on saturdays and the invoice shows the dealer completed everything at 0829. Invoice does not show the dealer using a gasket after tank inspection. Please help me recover the cost of the tank replacement.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 55 mph, a loud noise emitted from the vehicle without warning. The contact pulled over and discovered that fuel leaked continuously from underneath the vehicle. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). The fuel tank was replaced and the recall repair was performed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the canister purge valve failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 114,000.
Had a Ford dealership perform recall inspection of safety recall 15s34, they replaced fuel tank and said they checked the purge valve, 3 months later my gas tank imploded due to malfunction of the purge valve , I was driving 55 miles per hr. It is very serious fire safety hazard, no warning light came on to identify a problem, fuel leaking all around the gas tank, suppose to be a warranty of 12 months/12,000 miles. Now I am told there are multiple reports for other vehicles with the same problem. Why haven't the purge valves been recalled?.

Veh. Recall on fuel tank. Ford recall # 15s34 car kept by dealership 3/23/16. There is no return date for the completion of repair. Possibly 8/16 but cannot verify when the parts will be in. There are no parts available right now. Possibly their third quarter (they say). Looking for "reasonable" time from from Ford for repair. Or definition of "reasonable" to decide how to proceed.
Nhtsa recall 15v-793 I have contacted my local dealer numerous times to perform this required service but dealer claims that since January 2016 that parts are unavailable. Service manager claims no one has had the issue of the recall fixed. I think that the problem of cracked gas tanks is pretty serious. I will not park car in garage for fear of fire. There seems to be no effort on Fords part to correct this serious issue. There is no known date to have parts available. It's real sad as a consumer to have a faulty vehicle knowing a fire or worse, an explosion may occur. I was told if I should smell gas to park the vehicle. If that occurs I now have a useless vehicle with no parts to fix????? are you kidding me??? I was told to check back next month. Come on !!! this is rediculous. These auto manufacturers need your agency to lean on them to expedite and support these recalls in a timely fashion. . . . . . . . . Especially one that involves fuel?! geez. . . . . . . . . .
Took car in for safety recall number 15534. Due to myself and family noticing a gas smell in my car all the time. Took to Ford dealership, they examined and a crack was noted and corrosion of my fuel tank. Was told they could not release the car back to me. I would be without my car for approx. 10 months. They are providing me with rentals, however, have to trade in every month. Contacted Ford corp. To ask for assistance to assist with possibly trading my vehicle in and purchase another from Ford. They told me "sorry, there is nothing that we will do. You just have to wait for the part to be available. " I am still paying for my car, however, it will be sitting at a Ford dealership for atleast 10 months. Can forward actual car report from Ford dealership, if needed.
Takata recall - recall received - 2 yrs. Later no resolution. Fear of driving car. Only comfortable driving close to home. 10 yr old vehicle with only 35,000 miles on it. Feel this car should be re-purchased by dealer since they do not seem to care about the safety factor. Have aleady had to have throttle body replaced due to car just stopping when being driven at highway speeds. Recall on possible leaking gas tank. Almost 2 years - no resolution. Would you like to drive this piece of crap on the highway?????.
As I was driving the power steering stopped workin. And couldnt turn the wheel. While I had my children in the car. Also the gas tank whenever I get gas the car shakes & when I turn the car on after the gas is done, the car stalls & have to restart it twice before it stays on.
I smelled gasoline every time I filled up. I took the car to a Ford dealer and they found the gas tank had a crack on the top. It was actually dripping gas near the exhaust system. Dealer said tank needed to be replaced. Quoted a price of $1200 just for the tank. Dealer found a used tank. Total cost was $638. Dealer refused to call Ford to see if they would cover part of the cost. Car had 93,000 miles on it.
I started smelling gasoline every time I would get out of my car or walk towards it. I was under the impression I had "spilled some". I proceeded to smell it and noticed it was gasoline. So I looked under my car and realized that it had a gas leak. I took my card to a Ford dealership and the found my fuel tank seal has cracked. This problem needs to be looked into for the safely of the consumer.

I was accelerating from a stop light. I have a 2010 Ford Fusion manual transmission 4-cylinder engine. I had just shifted into 2nd gear and was at about 15 mph when the car suddenly stopped accelerating. The powertrain warning light came on the dash. The engine was idling - but I was unable to accelerate the car. Fortunately, there was no one behind me, and traffic was not impeded. I pulled to the side of the road and verified electrical systems were working. The engine felt rough. I turned off the ignition and let the car sit for about 15 seconds. I started the car back up, and it ran without issue. I searched online, and found similar complaints on other Fusions. I took the car to a Ford dealership and they replaced the throttle body as well as the fuel valve. Leading up to this, I had noticed some symptoms of shuddering, but, it coincided with a new tank of fuel. I planned to put a new tank of fuel in and see if the problem persisted. The car died prior to a new tank. This is a serious safety issue given that it can easily result in being rear-ended.
Fuel tank started leaking fuel when the tank is filled above 1/2 on the passenger side. Ford repair shop found a tank defect on the bend of the upper tank flange, stress fracture along the flange that is not normal wear and tear but in my and the repair shop's opinion is a defective tank. I am filing a complaint with Ford as in my over 40 years of owning many vehicles of several brands, never had a tank leak - one vehicle I have has 340k miles with no leaks. I see from research on the internet that this problem is not isolated to just me. Ford - improve your quality before I buy another vehicle from you! this is an extremely dangerous condition.
