Power steering intermittently fails when I am driving. I have no control over my car when this happens. Passenger side airbag has issued a recall. I live in washington state and no dealer has the replacement parts I've been waiting for 2 years!!!.
Passenger, side airbag is defective and needs to be replaced as validated by Ford dealership on February 4, 2019.
2010 Ford Fusion. Consumer writes in regards to parts being unavailable to repair passenger side airbag safety recall.
"takata recall" I received a recall notice February 2018 stating there had been a recall on the passenger side airbag, and I would be notifies when parts became available to fix the issue. I have since then received a letter stating parts are unavailable, and Ford is offering rental cars until parts do become available. I have been trying to get this solved for a week now, and my local Ford dealer just keeps saying they will get back to me. This is my only form of transportation, and I have two kids that travel in this car with me. I feel like everyday driving in this unsafe vehicle, is a threat to me and/or my children, and nothing is getting resolved, due to an overwhelming list, but I shouldn't have to worry everytime I drive.
I have received a letter from Ford motor indicating that there is a defective airbag in my vehicle and that the passenger side airbag defect is most critical and urgent. The letter indicates that no one should sit in the passenger side front side of my 2010 Ford Fusion se. The letter indicates that airbag replacement parts are currently not available and the letter did not indicate a date as to when parts would become available. I have called Ford in souderton PA to discuss but have not been given a call back.
Takata recall. I have a 2010 Fusion with a recall on the passenger side. I am told there are no parts available to repair it so I do not have full use of my vehicle since I can not use the front passenger seat. It seems the manufacturer should find alternate suppliers or provide a replacement until parts are available. I called my local dealer and was told there is nothing that can be done. Is the driver side airbag safe? can a malfunctioning passenger airbag injure the driver or rear seat passengers?.
Takata recall I received a letter in July 2016 informing me of a recall on my passenger side airbags. The letter makers it appear as though this is a serious, life-threatening issue, but I have called several Ford dealerships over the last year and they all claim that they do not have the parts of takata to fix it. Today I received a letter informing me that takata has filed chapter 11 and that I really need to get it resolved. I called a dealership today and they once again claimed not to have the parts. What is the point of sending me all of these warnings if I cant get it fixed? if the point is that I shouldnt be driving my car until its fixed then they should be giving me a replacement vehicle.
Takata recall: Ford is unable to supply replacement parts for passenger side airbag in my Ford Fusion 2010 car. I have been asking my local Ford dealer for almost one year for when this recall replacement can be completed. Each time, they say they cannot get parts, but hope to have them in the next calendar quarter.
Ford motor company notified me on July 1,2016 of a recall involving takata passenger side air bags. I have called my dealership every month since then and also called Ford motor CO. Customer service. Every time I call ; all of the answers are the same. Parts are not available. I have also been advised to park my car and not to use it until such parts are available. Today I made my calls to both my dealership and to Ford. Both gave me the usual answer. No parts are available. I received in today's mail a notice of takata's bankruptcy. What are we supposed to do? we are in our mid 70's and can not afford to replace our 2010 Ford Fusion. Nor can we afford to park it and lease another car.
Takata recall. In 2016 I was notified of a recall involving the passenger side air bag and instructed to go to the dealer for repair. To date the dealer is unable to get the parts necessary to perform the repair and the recall web site says "recall status- recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available". When will they ship the parts to fix this? everything I read about the problem points to extreme safety concerns! how long can they get away with this?.
Takata recall. I received notice June 1, 2016 of a safety recall for the passenger side airbag. I have queried our local Ford dealership (as well as other dealerships in the dallas area) and have been given no information as to when this safety item will be resolved. I have been told by the local Ford service manager that there appears to be no real urgency to replace this airbag due to cost (it is less costly to deal with lawsuits than with replacement). I was told by the sales director at the same dealership that they would buy my car at black book value as trade-in on another vehicle. When I asked what would be done with my Fusion I was advised that it would be sold somewhere out of the us where there are no recall concerns.
During the month of September, my car began suddenly shutting off while I was driving. This happened multiple times on the highway and surface roads. I would pull over, turn the car off and wait a few minutes. The car would work fine afterwards. I first had the battery checked which revealed a bad battery, I had it replaced. The car continued to have symptoms after the new battery was installed. I also noticed the stalling happened more when I filled the gas tank completely. I finally took the car back to the place I purchased it for diagnostics. I discovered that the throttle body was defective. I was told by a tech that the manufacturer had assembled new throttle bodies to replace the originals as the original throttle body did not work properly. Apparently, the intake was not opening/closing properly therefore the engine was not getting enough gas at times. The shop was able to pull codes from the previous stall events, p2111 & p2112. They replaced the throttle body assembly, ~ $300. 00. I see many complaints regarding this issue and expect/hope a recall will be issued in the near future. As a side note, my abs light was on as well. There was a known recall on the driver's side air bag assembly, shorted to ground. Ford replaced the air bag assembly at no charge. I hope this information is helpful.

The current and failure mileage was 30,000.
